Its a good idea before fletching to drop each arrow on there side if any of them buzz or rattle remove and reglue the point

Dan are you still using this style melt for inserts on your hunting setup also, especially your early season hot weather hunts? I have the same stuff in my hunting arrows but wondered if i should switch to the max impact style or victory fusion glue, but worried about damaging arrows trying to remove inserts if needed

Spinning each insert and marking that orientation has been the single most important step of consistency for my arrow builds.
Right before you glue, put the insert and point in the shaft and spin it to ensure its spinning true and mark line across the head and the shaft with a sharpie. You’ll be surprised to find how out of true some setups can be from the factory.

Nice video. Would've like to see more of what he was doing. Can hear his voice all the same. Good one elk shape.

Thanks. Helpful. At 0:55 you say "score the inside of the shaft" ... does that mean clean? scoring for me is cutting a shallow groove in metal etc. More view of the work would be good, also it seems you put the nock on first, is that right?

100% use hot melt, it allows you to change up tips, points, etc if you want. Arrows are expensive, so I don't mind swapping 3 arrows for broadheads during hunting season. Bill @ Iron Will is the first time I heard of it and have never gone back to epoxy/glues. At the end wipe it fast with a rag and cool it in a water mug. You'll be a pro in no time. If you screw it up, heat it, remove it, wipe it and try again.

in all my real world experience and in testing i've seen online arrows with hot melt are far less structurally sound and durable than those epoxied in.

The problem I've had with hot melt glue is the friction that is created when the arrow go's though the target is enough to remelt the glue, you can't beat a well prepped arrow and a good quality twopart apoxy.

Your arrows would have to exceed 250 degrees upon impact. You wouldn't even be able to hold them. Sounds like a prep or glue quality issue.

Never used wax. How is when pulling out of foam tatgets? Nothing worse lossing point and insert in a target

It's not wax it's a temp melted glue. Like a hot glue gun but different

It does by a lot. This is the “Kimshaw” brand i believe it is called. Looks exactly the same and was branded under that before iron will offered the same stuff

Hobby Lobby low temp glue sticks are the best I have found for long term adhesion.
