    Thanks for the tips man! I’m fairly new to archery, have never really shot further than 30 yards. I practiced this and then worked my way out to 70 yards with consistency this weekend. Awesome, simple and confidence building.

    Dang, I've been fighting this for a number yrs, especially with the ventum 33 with the front mount for the black gold seeing 60% of the sight. Took my backup out back and it was amazing how I shot. Boy I'm a dumb ass. Thanks young man.

    Oddly as a lefty Ive used this in similar fashion for many years. Originally for initial setup, I started setting my anchor then set my peep in the string then adjust sight ring to peep. Then I go thru my process of sighting the pins in. After doing this Ive always used the 6-3- pin, 6-3-pin and shot process from there. Been shooting for over 45 yrs so never paid much attention to the bubble as after a gazillion arrows vertical alignment is basically second nature.
    This vid is excellent advice especially for anyone struggling with accuracy or even with any type of target panic because it helps to settle your thoughts into a process before the shot... 😉

    Thanks for putting out all this useful information. Its a great library for someone like myself new to bow hunting and self servicing my own bow. I have to start picking different spots on my 20 yard target block now that i have broke 3 nocks due to accuracy improvement. Its also really neat to finally understand why things are causing different shifts in consistency. I truly appreciate the level of information being provided at no cost to everyone.

    It would be great to see a video on your whole shot sequence. For example what are you thinking when you draw, anchor, 6 - 9 - pin - bubble, acquire push pull until the shot. It would be interesting to hear your progression. Could also apply it to shot trainer.

    This is exactly why i dont buy into guys saying i need to get rid of my peep sight. Maybe for tree stand hunting under 20 yards lol.
    Also dan at Option archery sells sights such as the option 8 which is an oval housing and he also sells an oval peep to go with them fyi. Great video, super clear, concise, no bs, as always thanks JD

    Are you referring to target archery only or both hunting and target archery cause when you have that buck in front of you and he's nervous and you are nervous that's a lot of checking with all the other things you need to do to get off your shot ,I have changed a lot of my technique because of you and it's been a godsend and I appreciate all that you do for archers. Thanks again.

    • @nockonarchery
      @nockonarchery  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The middle of the range of the distances you are shooting. For example for fita field with 15-60meters max I was most comfortable at 40.

    Would this be affected by different lighting conditions? I notice a big difference in my peep size in different lighting. Been using an MRT spot hogg sight. If you are setting the bottom of your sight based on the bubble?

    On a sort of related note. I'm getting to the age/point where I have to wear some sort of correction for my vision. Your thoughts on using peep sights that have magnification. I have tried shooting with my prescription glasses, and it doesn't work for me. So, shooting with my contacts, which are for distance, is my best option thus far. I have tried a mono set up being right eye dominant. Didn't work well. Brain couldn't make the adjustment. Soo any thoughts. I'm using a Fast Eddie XL sight. Mathews V3X 33 which I love. Thanks All

    Good system to ensure best shot possible. Pretty much my same process.
    Is there a peep diameter recommendation for each sight housing? I've never noticed any but on my hogg father 2 pin my old peep seems a bit oversized ☠️

    • @codyfrazier4096
      @codyfrazier4096 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That will differ for everyone depending on the distance from sight housing to peep.

    if you shoot left handed would you use 6-3 vs 6-9?

  • @pauldavies5541
    @pauldavies5541 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    But in low light you can’t see your peep. This technique wouldn’t work.

    • @nockonarchery
      @nockonarchery  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Practice enough in the light so you have the ability to replicate this when lighting is low. Your subconscious is actually better than you think. I don’t have practice techniques for total dark but I can guarantee you that I haven’t had an issue shooting from blinds or hunting situations in legal shooting light. If you’re a night hunter put glow paint on your scope housing and charge it with a light off your phone and maybe that can help.
