I learn so much from this man. Forever grateful for his efforts to educate others.
So simple, yet such good coaching advice. Thank you Mr. Dudley.
This is the best explanation of peep alignment and what I should be looking for! Thank you for this!
I agree, 6-9 is important.
Thanks for the tips man! I’m fairly new to archery, have never really shot further than 30 yards. I practiced this and then worked my way out to 70 yards with consistency this weekend. Awesome, simple and confidence building.
love to hear it!
This is brilliant! I've been shooting for years and never even thought about a detail like this! thank you!
I know you already know but your videos are priceless ! You do more with these videos to help people than anyone else and they’re making a huge difference
Perfect way to slow it down and hit those points before the shot! Thank you sir!
Great teaching. Thanks John 👍🏼
Been a few months since I watched some content. Brother you are looking STRONG. Well done!
Super helpful John! I’m the guy who tripped on a rock, fell on my bow and dropped my can of chaw when I met you at 7 springs 😂 good memories man
Brand new to archery and this is a helpful sequence
Yet another invaluable lesson. Thank you for your courtesy, John!
Jeez! Once again this would have never crossed my mind. Makes perfect sense. Im going to start doing this. Thank you sir.
Thanks for the tip. This fixed my consistency.
This is exactly what I needed. I was having trouble with consistency until I tried this method, It changed the game for me.....I appreciate your time and effort you put into these videos!!!
Excited to incorporate this
Dang, I've been fighting this for a number yrs, especially with the ventum 33 with the front mount for the black gold seeing 60% of the sight. Took my backup out back and it was amazing how I shot. Boy I'm a dumb ass. Thanks young man.
Oddly as a lefty Ive used this in similar fashion for many years. Originally for initial setup, I started setting my anchor then set my peep in the string then adjust sight ring to peep. Then I go thru my process of sighting the pins in. After doing this Ive always used the 6-3- pin, 6-3-pin and shot process from there. Been shooting for over 45 yrs so never paid much attention to the bubble as after a gazillion arrows vertical alignment is basically second nature.
This vid is excellent advice especially for anyone struggling with accuracy or even with any type of target panic because it helps to settle your thoughts into a process before the shot... 😉
Love this. Definitely adopting this technique.
Phenomenal advice, thanks John!
Appreciate your time and knowledge John can’t thank you enough for for expertise always a pleasure watching your platforms ❤🤘🤙👊
Thanks for putting out all this useful information. Its a great library for someone like myself new to bow hunting and self servicing my own bow. I have to start picking different spots on my 20 yard target block now that i have broke 3 nocks due to accuracy improvement. Its also really neat to finally understand why things are causing different shifts in consistency. I truly appreciate the level of information being provided at no cost to everyone.
I’ll be trying this TONIGHT
Thanks John. Love videos like this!
Great advise for perfect accuracy thanks Studley
It would be great to see a video on your whole shot sequence. For example what are you thinking when you draw, anchor, 6 - 9 - pin - bubble, acquire push pull until the shot. It would be interesting to hear your progression. Could also apply it to shot trainer.
He shoots x’s because they make him feel good !! He did a video on that not sure how long ago but he has one on that exact thing
Love these Johny!! Thank you.
Love these knowledge drops.
Great advice as usual, see you at the next TAC!
That's brilliant! You made it easy as pie...well, in this case, a quarter of a PIE! 🙂
Yet ANOTHER mind blowing eye opening video! Thank you so much for this!!! #Legend
This is gold :) thank you John
This is exactly why i dont buy into guys saying i need to get rid of my peep sight. Maybe for tree stand hunting under 20 yards lol.
Also dan at Option archery sells sights such as the option 8 which is an oval housing and he also sells an oval peep to go with them fyi. Great video, super clear, concise, no bs, as always thanks JD
Thanks so much. Very helpful.
Great video on how to align sights. Thanks!
Great advice and even better presentation.
This is super helpful.
Great insight!! Tks
One of best tips ever
Fucking lightbulb moment. I’ve learned more from your TH-cam vids than 10 years of shooting by myself without videos or friends giving tips
Great video tip
Nice release holder :)
Thanks for the video. Loved the information. Also, you’re lookin ripped. What are you doing to get in the shape you are in?
Are you referring to target archery only or both hunting and target archery cause when you have that buck in front of you and he's nervous and you are nervous that's a lot of checking with all the other things you need to do to get off your shot ,I have changed a lot of my technique because of you and it's been a godsend and I appreciate all that you do for archers. Thanks again.
All archery!
Hello from Canberra, AU! I am having trouble maintaining consistent grouping at 50m. My sight picture has daylight at 9 'o clock. Will try your advice.
So, multi pin front site , center peep on sight ring and not the pin ?
Excellent video. As to what yardage is it best to achieve your best peep to sight alignment ?
The middle of the range of the distances you are shooting. For example for fita field with 15-60meters max I was most comfortable at 40.
Would this be affected by different lighting conditions? I notice a big difference in my peep size in different lighting. Been using an MRT spot hogg sight. If you are setting the bottom of your sight based on the bubble?
On a sort of related note. I'm getting to the age/point where I have to wear some sort of correction for my vision. Your thoughts on using peep sights that have magnification. I have tried shooting with my prescription glasses, and it doesn't work for me. So, shooting with my contacts, which are for distance, is my best option thus far. I have tried a mono set up being right eye dominant. Didn't work well. Brain couldn't make the adjustment. Soo any thoughts. I'm using a Fast Eddie XL sight. Mathews V3X 33 which I love. Thanks All
🤘!!!
You turn my 6’s to 9’s
What if your not getting a constant eclipse do you change peep or front sight
Nice👌🏾🏹🎯💰🤙
This is Obi Wan stuff …. How do I not know this ?
Great stuff,
I’m curious how this is affected by slider sight housing. I shoot a black gold verdict
Why cant i find that white bow behind you for sale?
Good system to ensure best shot possible. Pretty much my same process.
Is there a peep diameter recommendation for each sight housing? I've never noticed any but on my hogg father 2 pin my old peep seems a bit oversized ☠️
That will differ for everyone depending on the distance from sight housing to peep.
Option archery offers an oblong shape peep
I have the Option 8. It's a great sight but it would be beneficial if different peep sizes were offered for better alignment.
If your left handed would it be 6-3 pin?
I see my cables in my sight. Why is that?
Do you run a magnification scope for those long bombs at tac?
I don’t. I haven’t ran a lens in a long time. I still want somewhat of a hunting set up
if you shoot left handed would you use 6-3 vs 6-9?
Dealers choice
But in low light you can’t see your peep. This technique wouldn’t work.
Practice enough in the light so you have the ability to replicate this when lighting is low. Your subconscious is actually better than you think. I don’t have practice techniques for total dark but I can guarantee you that I haven’t had an issue shooting from blinds or hunting situations in legal shooting light. If you’re a night hunter put glow paint on your scope housing and charge it with a light off your phone and maybe that can help.
