@@mr.terwilliger5728 The Continental is optimal as a hard top but it's still great as a convertible. And there's nothing quite like a Bentley convertible with its contemporary and luxurious interior combined with some amazing ambient lighting. It'll look stunning when you take it out for an open top cruise at night, something you can't get with the Dawn.

I drove a Bentley Continental V8 and w12. The w12 pulled harder, yet softer, and I managed to get better fuel efficiency with the w12. It makes for a smoother, faster, more sophisticated ride with better gas mileage (I was averaging about 28 - 30 mpg vs 21 mpg with the V8.)

I have flown a bunch of them. Some of the custom spec’ed ones are amazing! And some are spec’ed with reduced leather. I sat in one that had blue leather seats, steering wheel, and arm rests. But everything else was in various blue colored luxury fabrics.
The only problem I have with certain vehicle ambient lightings, including this one, is that in the upper environment, the light shines outwards, reflecting off of other surfaces, including the windows, etc. In my Audi, conversely, the upper ambient lighting environment is hidden behind a lip with the light illuminating downwards; it’s much less distracting that way.
Getting to your comment about seat comfort - I think you’re spot on; I can’t quite figure the seat ergonomics out as well. I also think the seats and the footwells are just a tiny bit too narrow. If the seats were 1cm wider and the footwells 2cm wider then I think the overall comfort would be dramatically higher. And Bentley definitely knows how to create such comfort! I find the Mulsanne’s seats to be the most comfortable in all of automotive history. That car is true ergonomic perfection!
Those side window defroster vents on the doors - they’re placed horizontally. That invites condensation, other liquids, dust, etc. Most other makers orient them angled on the dash for that very reason. That needs to be redesigned.
As far as engine choices - a naturally aspirated V-6 would be more than adequate for me. It’s the kind of car that invites a relaxed type of driving. Gradually get up to highway speed, set the cruise control and leisurely enjoy your day - after all, you’re in a Bentley; what’s not to enjoy?!?

It's worth noting that a tall rear passenger could sit behind the front passenger seat which has loads of legroom because the front footwell is massive. The front passenger can move their seat forward probably more than the driver. I'm only 1.75m tall but I love sitting a long way from the steering wheel, so even average-sized people can be a pain for rear passengers...lol.

Thomas needs Brian to dub his Snobby English voice. ;)
This car is a massive improvement over the old car design wise. It just looks more svelte, sharper. As for the seats, I've sat in seats that gave me that feeling and I believe it was the continuous curvature of the surface that pushed my shoulders out that made me feel like that.
I could help but notice the incredible wood work in the interior shots. It was just immaculate. Every grain line was aligned perfectly even over the flipping centre piece/screen area. I love seeing detailed work like that. Having said this, my god, this car is so expensive you are only buying it because you want to be unique...stand out. And the only people who can afford a car like this in Toronto look either like they have an affiliation with an unsavoury group of "international importers" or they own a large company that has convinced billions of consumers to separate themselves from their hard earned cash for their product. Or they play football. ;p I don't know any of these people do you?

Totally agree with virtually you say when you review the top luxury cars. The only point I vehemently disagree with is your push for petro chemical vinyl interior on the seats which in order to produce is a known pollutant over natural cow hide leather which is biodegradable and secondly comes from cows used for meat. Leather breathes that’s why it’s used for shoes and doesn’t give off a gas as vinyl does which is very evident in cars parked in the sun with the windows closed. That film on the windscreen is from the vinyl chloride gas emanating from the vinyl upholstery . I’m considering a Panamera GTS and when spending 156K would expect pure leather on my seating area and throughout the cabin. One major issue with the Panamera the seats are very low uncomfortable and do not raise high enough allowing me to see over the dashboard. I’m extremely short at 5’1” . I do not have any problem with my Porsche Cayenne and my Mercedes CLS .
One last note, Recycling vinyl requires enormous energy and is not by no means environmentally friendly to this planet

Thank you very much for your interest in this topic. I also bought cars with animal skin leather seats before I did my research and got to know the industry. The most important thing is: With today's modern materials, you have nothing to lose, just to gain. You achieve the same kind of luxury and comfort or even better while having the same or better durability with less impact on humans, animals and the environment.
You can use fabric/cloth, microfibre or leatherette. They can be made from recyclables (e.g. from PET-bottles or old fishing nets) or even from plant-based materials (like Pinatex from pineapple leaves or Desertex from cactus fibre or the mixed-plant-based Mirum). Or the Polestar 3 e.g. is using pine oil. And even if you still create a leatherette seat the classic way with petroleum base without a recycling share, the amount of oil being used for that is very little in comparison to how much oil is used for other car parts or how much oil is burned for fuel or heating. By ditching animal skin leather from car interiors, the amount of emissions (CO2e) is reduced by 85 (!) % (www.press.bmwgroup.com/africa-dom-easteurope/article/detail/T0403389EN/on-the-market-from-2023:-bmw-and-mini-models-with-vegan-interiors?language=en). So it is the most important thing you can do to make car interiors more sustainable.
A good example for high-end luxury with ventilated animal free seats is the BMW X7 with Sensfin: th-cam.com/video/1pRNkW9nrrw/w-d-xo.html
New leatherette materials can be superior in every aspect: th-cam.com/video/u94YXJ72UTA/w-d-xo.html
More and more natural materials are rising: th-cam.com/video/nRSsXEnwHDo/w-d-xo.html or th-cam.com/video/S1aNZeoatmE/w-d-xo.html
      Another interesting article is here:
      www.collectivefashionjustice.org/articles/is-vegetable-tanned-leather-sustainable-lets-do-some-leather-myth-busting#:~:text=Often%20listed%20as%20a%20'pro,the%20method%20of%20tanning%20used.
Also check out what the animal skin leather industry tried to with our channel: th-cam.com/video/nP_CvLlaFlI/w-d-xo.html
For seeing how the animals are being treated and transported in the global leather industry, watch this footage: th-cam.com/video/tkjCAmq1_8E/w-d-xo.html
Note that the footage is genuine and was recorded by a highly decorated investigative journalist in Germany I know myself personally.
Depending on the animal skin grade, the animals are specifically raised for this matter. However even if meat is the first misuse case, the hide remains one of the most profitable body parts. That means: If manufacturers put animal leather in a car and you demand it as a customer, you give your money to an industry that earns money by oppressing humans, animals and harms the environment, you make them more profitable. Alternatively, you could support industries with your wallet which try to improve the sustainability of materials. Also, if you turn the argument around to "meat is the waste of the leather industry" you realize that it doesn't make sense (and is ethically doubtful) to discuss the priority use of individual body parts of mammals. Mind experiment: You are getting slain down or even murdered on the street; would it matter to you if it was for your smartphone or for your purse?
We cannot change what we have bought in the past, but with more information and compassion we can change how we decide in the future.

Great review Thomas, please use your "English - English" more often it suit you! I did not see any autonomous driving aids, my 8 Series has this, for a car of this statue to not have it would be very disappointing especially if it is a 'Gentlemen's' car?

Well....That was what I expected. A very good discription of , what I consider the best GT on the market today in terms of the classic coupe 2 door. The best leathers, woods, and metal work are all on display with this Bentley! The only thing I'd wish for is the return of the wooden sreering wheel. Yeah that may sound odd but to my way of thinking I'm still a huge fan of the wood steering wheel still! However that would not disway my intention of owning such a complete car. Thanks again Thomas and Company. BTW...The exterior color? I'd call it a "Burgundy" color of red? But that's just me...Loved it Thomas!

This was the first of your videos I have seen. My wife asked why it was so long, and I jokingly said that, being German it would be very thorough - and so it was.
You have a new subscriber, and I'm just popping out to buy a lottery ticket . . .
As an aside - did you try the convertible without the camera mounted, and did that alter the level of noise you heard in your left ear?

The convertible noise came from more behind and was also noted by my co-drivers on their respective side

Another excellent review Thomas, thank you.
Best leave the English "accent " to the Brits though 😄
I have some very different choices to Thomas o this car though: I would take a V8 racing green coupe with a very light colour leather interior.
This car looks like an excellent combination of German engineering and British craftsmanship. I love the way that the pattern on the wood in the centre dash matches when you chose the plain wood panel or the 3 dials panel!
In the end though I would still probably choose a Panamera Grand Tourismo or Alpina B5 Touring....
.if I had the money 😂😂😂

Your reviews are great except for one thing: Your obsession with non-leather interiors.
A Bentley without leather is not a Bentley. Vinyl is a petroleum by-product with terrible temparature and wear properties, when compared with the naturally sourced leather.
In most markets the W12/V8 price difference is very minor. I would buy the V8 as the lower fuel consumption will mean longer intervals between refills. The lighter weight and better sound are also significant advantages.

great that you like our reviews. As for animal leather, it is just that you don't have the proper information yet. If you would see what the leather industry does to humans, animals and the environment, you wold immediately stop buying it since it goes against your core moral values. Leatherette can be a) produced in a high grade nowadays (parts you also see in this Bentley are leatherette, good luck finding out which ones!) b) it can be made from recyclables and there are even ways to produced it plant-based, e.g. just right here from from leftover wine industry grape skins: Bentley already did a animal-free concept and it looks and feels amazing, www.livekindly.co/new-electric-bentley-vegan-grape-leather/

If the W12 doesn’t have breathtaking acceleration that still has that ‘feel the weight’ of the car feeing then I would say it isn’t worth it. The w12 needs to have a significant , unmistakable acknowledgment.
