I totally agree regarding keeping physical buttons and switches for certain controls - you can operate them purely by 'muscle memory', without taking your eyes off the road. Plus the tactile sensation on a well-made button or knob can be very satisfying.

Buttons for a quality touch is so good. and btw when the pipes are right behind the tips, its not fake at all. Sometimes they are done for insurance reasons by manufacturers. Fake is the SQ5 exhaust nonsense lol.

Couldn't agree more...the hand's on /mechanical feel of pushing a button or turning a knob add's so much to the whole experience when sitting/ driving in a car .
There are alot of advantages using a touchscreen ,no doubt but they can't replace the ergonomical feel /comfort like turning a volume knob .
Let's hope the car designers /engineers realize that ,and find a balance between a touch and a mechanical interface .
Btw thank's for another good car review ,Autogefühl and Ausfahrt tv ,are 2 of the best ( if not the best )car reviewers i could find on TH-cam !👍🏽👍🏽

Buttons for audio and ACC are so much safer, and more reliable than any touchscreen. Same for the traditional doorhandles. The electric ones often malfunction and do not move out if the 12V battery is dead.

I wonder to what degree lower unsprung mass helps ride quality. The carbon ceramic brakes save 5kg per wheel and the carbon fiber rims save 6kg per wheel. Surely 11kg reduction in unsprung mass per wheel must have some noticeable effect.
It would be interesting if Autogefühl could test this some time!

When the trim of the bonnet is better than the trim of most cars you know they're not messing about. That interior is literally to die for.....if I was a cow I'd be happy to end up there! Red/black trim is super nice, more manufacturers should do this. My M3 has this and it transforms it. Would have the Bentley over an Urus all day long, classy v crass......not that I'll ever be in that position 🤣

Nice informative review like always. Since Genesis’s copying Bentley they should make a GV70 S trim with at least 500HP and a great exhaust sound note like Hyundai N versions.

    • @enflans
      @enflans 2 ปีที่แล้ว

There is a Genesis GV70 Sport Package model though, although it makes 375HP, but 500HP would be a beast. I'm not sure you can say Genesis is exactly copying Bentley since the lead designers of Genesis (Lee Sang-Yup and Luc Donckerwolke) are the very men who designed the Bentley cars, including the Bentayga. Lee himself said he had the intention of an upgrade of his designs in mind when designing the Genesis cars.

I always enjoy your reviews and this one on the Bentayga S is another good one. I own a new Bentley Bentayga Speed with the OEM Akrapovic Exhaust system and the Alcantara interior. The car is amazing and I love driving it. I do wonder if you have driven the Speed vs the S and your preferences. I have the V8 in my 2021 GTC, and find that the double clutch transmission is fantastic and a real game changer in the Continental. Do you know if the S has that transmission? The Speed does not. I appreciate your thoughts.

Thank you very much for your interest in this topic. As a start, please tune in to what the animal leather industry tried to do here with our channel: th-cam.com/video/nP_CvLlaFlI/w-d-xo.html
In general, depending on the animal skin grade, the animals are specifically raised for this matter. However even if meat would be the reason no.1 in other cases, the hide remains one of the most profitable body parts. That means: If manufacturers put animal leather in a car and you accept it as a customer, you give your money to an industry that earns money by oppressing humans, animals and destroys the environment, you make them more profitable. Also, if you turn the argument around "meat is the waste of the leather industry" you realize how biased the argument is. After all, would you care for which body part you would murdered? Or imagine someone robs you on the street and beats you to death - would it matter to you if it was for your Smartphone or for your purse?
The animal agriculture industry occupies 2/3 of all farm land on this planet which cannot be used for direct human nutrition then. That is extremely inefficient. The no.1 cause for deforestation is the animal industry. It is also one of the biggest contributor to climate change. The amount of land, resources, energy and water being used is beyond imagination. If you are interested in how the animals are being treated and transported in the global leather industry, watch this footage: th-cam.com/video/tkjCAmq1_8E/w-d-xo.html
Note that the footage is genuine and was recorded by a highly decorated investigative journalist in Germany I know myself personally.
For the alternative, you can either use artificial fabrics which can be made from recyclables (we have already shown a lot of vehicles that use great fabric seats from PET-bottles etc.) or more and more also from plant-based materials (like Pinatex). And even if you would create a seat completely with petroleum without a recycling share, the amount of oil being used for that is nothing in comparing just to once fueling up your car.
In practical reasons, fabric or microfibre seats are just more useful. You do not sweat in summer and it is not cold in winter. And there are also new leatherette materials available which are superior in every aspect: th-cam.com/video/u94YXJ72UTA/w-d-xo.html
Using animal skin on seats is a major issue of animal rights, human rights - and after all just of common sense what is better both for the environment and just more practical and more luxurious for the customer. We cannot change what we have bought in the past (that also counts for ourselves of course!), but with more information and compassion we can change how we decide in the future.

I don’t have a lot of respect the Bentayga for the fact that it shares its platform with sub-$100,000 USD cars. The side profile doesn’t really stand apart from Audi Q8 or Cayenne. The other problem is, it doesn’t even have the rotating display on the dash like the Continental GT and Flying Spur have. So it seems that this isn’t a true Bentley. Hopefully they will fix that in the next generation.
