  • Could this be the very best edition of the New American Standard (NASB 1995) in production? Hands down, an emphatic yes - with one caveat - if you like your references at the bottom of the page. If you prefer a more traditional double-column layout, the Allan Readers Reference would be the way to go.
    Schuyler has really spared no expense with the production of this Bible. All of the very best materials have been used to create a thoughtful edition that tries to come as close as humanly possible to the beauty of the word of God.
    The best Bible out there, is the one you read! May God bless you and your Bible studies!

    It saddens my heart, but Schuyler recently announced that this next run that they are getting ready to release will be their last one of the beloved NASB 95. If you are interested in one, I would act quickly because after this run, there will only be the NASB 2020.

    Love Schuyler. Best Bibles on the planet IMHO. 😇 Thanks for sharing yours. 👍

    Thanks for this video! Im looking for a new bible, as well as a different translation to read. Raised on the kjv. Debating on getting a cambridge clarion, but not sure yet. The single column is something im not sure about. Cambridge has a few other nice looking nasb bibles. This schuyler here looks AMAZING as well. Although im still not sure 😂. Im also thinking, the 1995 version seems to be the "best."
    Anyway, thanks for this video!!

    I like your forthright style. Between you and the ever-gracious Randy Brown, I now know which NASB 95 I want to purchase. Thanks!

    Schuyler could reign supreme with a bolder typeface, definitely the best binding quality

    Did you specifically give the font size of the main text? I heard you mention the text size of the concordance but not the main text. Reason I ask is some places I read have it at 9.5 while other places 11. I pray it is 11 point font because my vision is not what it used to be and a 9.5 which be quite small and more something for a reference or study Bible I would think. I'm wanting this for reading... thx Update: Sorry I saw you addressed the font size at the end of the video... appreciate it. Interesting it is viewed as a 13 pt font though because I have a "large print Bible" which is a 12pt font and that Bible looks much larger for it's font.

    I really want one of these nut the "ghosting" is bad. Why such a low GSM?

    • @RustyBibles
      @RustyBibles  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That's a question for Schuyler. They claim the difference between the 28gsm and the 36gsm is minimal, but I don't agree. I like the Allan Reader more; it uses the 36gsm.

    Nice review. I have a Thintel like this one. The pages are a bit too thin... I'd like thicker. While the font is 11 point, it doesn't read as well as the old Zondervan NASB giant print personal size with 10 point don't, but very thick letters....the Zondervan reads better.
    The Thintel has great goatskin leather and it is nice, again I say I wish it had thicker paper.
    Thanks for the review.

      Agreed. I wish they would leave the page size the same, but go down to a 10 point font and increase the paper to a 36 gsm. This would make for an excellent edition.

    Do you think they'll have one late November or in December?

    • @RustyBibles

      That would be a question for Schuyler directly. They're usually pretty good about letting you know the production schedule.

    My go to bible is the KJV Cambridge Turquoise, which I love. How does the NASB translation read compared to the KJV or NIV? This Quintel is a beautiful Bible, but I’m not that familiar with the NASB and wondering if it’s your favourite translation?

      I grew up on the KJV and love the way it sounds, but I definitely did and still do have a hard time understanding certain portions of the KJV. When I was in my early 20s, I wanted a Bible that had updated language, but also one that was a very literal translation of the text. The NASB filled that need perfectly. The NASB 95 is often touted as one of the most literal (but still readable) translations out there, and I really enjoy it. They don't take the same thought-for-though liberties that the NIV takes, and the NASB is perfect for deep dive studies into specific topics and word use.

    Is there a red letter text?

      I don't believe they make a red letter NASB, here is a link to the NASB's Schuyler makes:

    Is highlighting with a Bible highlighter bad in this Bible?

    • @RustyBibles
      @RustyBibles  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I haven't tried in this specific one, but 28gsm (the paper they use in this edition) is on the thin side. They do offer a wide margin edition that uses 40gsm, and that would be a much better choice for wet highlighters. The thinner paper would be fine with a dry highlighter like those made by Mr. Pen or Crayola Twistables.
