Exactly. I would love this and other editions in 40 GSM paper. I'm at the point where I will pass on more 28 GSM bibles for my collection. I would really like a Schuyler ESV single-column 40 GSM Bible. If Schuyler would expand their 40 GSM Bible range, I am sure I would buy editions in ESV, NASB, NKJV, and CSB.
Wouldn't it be great if Schuyler would offer a build your own custom bible option? We could choose the paper type, the font size, the ribbons, the cover, the liner, full yap or standard, include the creeds or leave them out. That would be amazing.

I'm planning to get a treveris with esv, I'm saving for it at the moment. I like that one since it's more of a reader's edition. ESV is the first translation I've read in english and I fell in love with it. I've read in French my whole life and it's still my favorite way to dive in the Word, but the ESV is so well done. I have several study bibles, but not one for reading alone. The treveris, without the subheadings and verses in the text really is what I'm looking. There's something about a beautiful, well-made book that just makes you want to dive right in.

I use my wide margin quentel for studying and note-taking, and the paper is AMAZING! Better than any wide margin I’ve ever had. The show through is less than any Bible I have. It is massive, but something about the size is just great too. AND I like the font size better than the other two quentels 😬 I hope they make a midsize quentel with that text size one day!

Wow. Haha this last year has opened me up to all the amazing editions of the Bible and now I feel like I’m being overwhelmed with so many, I don’t know which one I should invest in. It seems like the ESV always has the nicest editions out first
I have a green ESV Wide Margin Qunetel, Regular Sized Quentel, and Personal Size Quentel. Having all three really makes for a dream study, reading, and carrying combination. I would love a wide margin RSV and ESV with Apocrypha. Cambridge really opened the door for Orthodox and Catholic Christians who want premium editions of the Bible. The RSV Quentel was an answer to prayers for many.
40 GSM paper - very nice. I think Schuyler hit it out of the park for the note taking bible student. I do not mean student as in college age but a person that loves to deep dive and capture their thoughts and ideas while studying. I would encourage all pastors to capture your preaching legacy within a such a wonderful edition. Oh, and shout out to Tyler!

I have it in NASB… by far my nicest Bible. You’re right it is huge, but it’s still a great way to have a “diy” study Bible by adding your most helpful notes over a long period of time.
@@BravoSeven I understand. I’ve learned I have to write small, don’t rush, and be intentional with my notes- meaning I only write it if I believe it will help or give clarity to the passage/verse down the road.
Thanks for an excellent overview! I wholeheartedly agree with your thoughts on the 40gsm paper. In my humble opinion that's what bible paper should be! I could even enjoy the 45gsm paper found in some Allan bibles. I recently bought my first Schuyler Quentel and my only disappointment was the 28gsm paper. It feels far too delicate to me. Other than that, it's a wonderful bible made to the highest standard. But if I do come across another NKJV bible that has thicker paper I know that I'll buy it and sell the Schuyler Quentel. After seeing your video I am very interested in purchasing this wide margin ESV, mainly because of the thickness and quality of the paper.
Nice! My box for my CSB Firebrick Quentel is a clamshell. I love Schuyler.
They may have started it with the CSB Quentels... I probably should have checked on that before the review. Oh well... I love the clamshell boxes way more than the two-piece.

Up until just a few weeks ago, I had never heard of Schulyer, Cambridge, or R L Allen before. And until about a few weeks ago I learned about premium bible rebinding. That Schulyer is a gorgeous beast. Thank you Beau for these videos. I can really appreciate how you said it is more of a stewardship thing than just collecting.
welcome to a whole new world. Ive been going down this rabbit hole for about 5 years now I think. I never knew what was out there. If only I had a budget for every bible I want. I do have schuyler, Cambridge and an RL Allen. All great bibles. Cambridge is a good starting point with lower end premium and a little better price point.
@@Mike_W78Thank you for the guidance. Yeah I am researching to find a ESV Single Column Reference. I just felt a goatskin bible from Holman just the other day, at Ollie's Bargain store, and I fell in love with true leather. I believe it was split skin though. But still.
@@massaro2784 look at videos on the cambridge clarion. Its single column reference. Its the bible I take to church. Its smaller but thick. easy to read and use plus its a premium that usually is a little cheaper that some of the real nice premiums. it seems to be on sale more that others. Still close to 200 for goatskin but can sometimes find it cheaper. I got mine for around 150. For the nasb clarion.

The Schuyler wide margin really is my favorite “tool” for visually memorizing where Bible verses are based on previous engagement of writing in the margins.
The ideal Bible in my opinion. I do like the heavyweight paper.
All these Schuyler Bible Boxs comes like these. The old ones are no more.
Which I personal love it's way easier to pull the Bible out. Especially if your hands are full.

i just ordered this exact type of bible except, i got the one in Regalis ( Latin word for Royal ) Purple Calfskin with purple ribbons, blue under silver art gilting. i also learned that the Purple Calfskin is a Meriva Calfskin from Italy. Beau, if you want to get one of these kinds of ESV Wide Margins for yourself, i Highly, Highly recommend getting the one that i did because after getting my KJV 62 Longprimer Sovereign in Black Meriva Calfskin, i can definitely tell you that Meriva Calfskin is Super, Super nice and it is Velvety soft and smooth. not to mention, that Royal Purple color really Pops even in the pictures.

I'm weird about writing in my bibles, too. I'd love to see this Bible's exact text block and 40GSM paper in a standard margin size. I'd have bought one yesterday...
I bought my first ESV premium Bible a few years ago, but it was printed in China. Now I am looking for an upgrade but I can’t make up my mind with so many Bibles!

I have wanted to try the Schuyler wide margin for a while. I think if they went to a 36 gsm to make it just a little lighter it would by my perfect wide margin.

I believe the first Quentel was a NASB with 40 gsm paper. Nice to see they are bringing it back in this edition.
The original NASB Quentel was a 45 gsm and is now known as "The Brick"... A classic
45, that’s right, not 40. I remember is was considerably thicker than the later editions.

I really enjoy the thicker paper. I know thinner paper allows for a more compact bible, but I’d rather have a slightly bigger bible but am not afraid to flip through the paper.

28 gsm is entirely to thin in my opinion.
Single column reference with 40 gsm would be perfect. I own a 2002 print “NASB JUDGE” and it has been one tough awesome Bible. A Schuyler NASB SCR Calfskin with 40 gsm paper would probably come the closest to competing with , The Judge by ABBA Bibles!

Ok, that Bible is BEAUTIFUL. I think that being a red-letter Bible would make it even more beautiful, and I would rather have creeds/confessions over the lined paper in the back. But other than that it looks like a perfect Bible. Trying to convince myself not to go buy it 👀👀
I don't know why they don't do a credo version in every offering. There's enough folks out there that follow confessions that it would make sense to offer both.

Black letter = awesome. 40 GSM wow = awesome. Make it verse by verse (No longer Quentel I know). then have the margins cut off like Jeffery Rice did on his rebind = awesome. LOL
If anyone knows of a NKJV verse by verse in black letter with references with 9+ point text, with NO colored headings or verse markers, post it here. I want to send it to Jeffery and make the same cover he has. That would be perfect. I already own a Cambridge ESV Clarion. Great video as usual. The only thing that could beat that for me is a Charles Spurgeon version NKJV verse by verse, they need to make that. Don't want much, ha. If I did want a wide margin which I have in a Thompson Chain worn out. I would want verse by verse regardless of translation. That way you could better match your notes to the verses a little.
This Bible is a dream for those who like to write in them
It's too bad none of the marbled mahogany calfskin I've seen people post pictures of come close to matching the texture and color of the stock photo Schuyler uses.

Is it just me or am I the only one who never uses these concise concordances that comes in bibles these days? That and the dedication pages. I find these additions to bibles to be a little bit of a waste of space that could be excluded to either thin up the Bible’s in general or add much more useful things like bible dictionaries, creeds and confessions, theological matter or even translator appendix where the Bible translators added more matter on the choices and philosophy of the translation. Seriously! Much better things can be put into these bibles than dedication pages and concise concordances.
