    You guys should see what swaps with a FA20 in the Engine!!! You would get thousands of views if you tell us if an FA20 Head would fit on an FA24 block, or if there is some combination of parts to swap an FA20 with an FA24 in the prior gen cars!!!

    Tuning being key when slapping any parts that can result in modifying the intake and/or exhaust. Knock or missfiring will knock the piston and helpfully remove any rod bearing. Cobb/Ecutek has stage tunes ATM but custom tuning isn't an option yet to correctly fine tune the fuel trims.

    I really appreciate your experience, but I also came across a 2022 GR86 with a broken #4 connecting rod I ordered a short block and assembled the engine, but I need the timing chain illustration. It's different from FA20.

    RANDOM QUESTION but is it possible to swap a GR86 engine (FA24) into a older (2017) BRZ?
    I searched around and haven't seen anything, but I assume that it's possible to do however I don't think its plug and play though.

    • @lorencecheung
      @lorencecheung 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Right??? I'm pretty sure they were aluminium on the FA20. I guess the new plastic valve covers are just yet another way they used to shave some weight off the car and save some money at the same time

    • @NapalmPineapple
      @NapalmPineapple 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@lorencecheung Seems like a cost cutting move imo, the weight difference between the aluminum and plastic with all the rest of the engine components is probably not much. Either way I find it kinda annoying, I bet that will be an issue later on with it cracking and leaking.

    • @lorencecheung
      @lorencecheung 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@NapalmPineapple it's a cost cutting move but seeing as how they keep talking about how much they've done to keep the weight down, I figured that was part of the reason lol. Plastic definitely will crack with age and seeing that this part sees a lot of heat I also bet that it will crack sooner rather than later

However, the wrong way may only give you 1 chance, so you have to be safe and smart when tackling this type of task. Also, having the right tools help.

    The audacity of this dogwater company is hilarious. For those that don't know, Kevin Vo was fired from FT Speed on 12/13/2022 in a disgusting way. Buy your parts from somewhere else than FTSpeed or Subispeed folks; support somewhere that supports its employees and treats them with respect.
    An 8-year, passionate, face-of-your company employee deserves the respect and courtesy of at least a conversation being had about any conflicts of interest or things that would necessitate termination of employment if continued.
    To outright fire him out of the blue without giving him a heads up or notice that something he is doing/saying will not fly and deny him the ability to make an informed decision on what his options are going forward reflects poorly upon FTSpeed/Subispeed.
    In a game where you just play the middleman, I will gladly take my business elsewhere to some other middleman that isn't FTSpeed/SubiSpeed; there are a plethora of other options out there that can access more or less the same catalogue of items.
    FTSpeed/Subiespeed did Kevin Vo dirty, when Kevin Vo was a SIGNIFICANT part of why the company is as successful as it is today - hopefully yall's marketshare takes a deserving hit and Kevin lands somewhere that will treat him better and be worthy of the good-business his passion and efforts bring forth.

    • @SlowDriver2024
      @SlowDriver2024 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@no1washerezz I understand it was money shifted, but I was talking about videos showing excess RTV blocking the oil pick up tubes. Even without the shifting incident, I'm sure that engine wouldn't last too long. Perhaps I should have stated that point clearly in my first comment.

    • @johnybigarms
      @johnybigarms 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      RTV has nothing to do with this video, it’s comments like yours that have blown it out of proportion, obviously you don’t own a GR86 or BRZ, in percentage terms of cars sold the RTV causing engine failure will be 1 in a 1000 and all are warranted and repaired FOC, the money shift issue here is another story.

    • @SlowDriver2024
      @SlowDriver2024 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@johnybigarms Blown it out of proportion because I didn't say it clearly the first time, which I had apologized for not stating specifically about engine built quality? Well, let me say it again, sorry for not specifically speaking about the engine. Of course I don't own a BRZ/GR86, because with my past experiences with owning these cars, I know if I wanted to make serious kits out of them, the first thing one must do, is to remove the longblock from the car, and fortifying it extensively with structural, cooling, and lubrications thoroughly addressed. With that said, if Subaru makes hundreds of thousands of the FA24 a year, 1 in a 1000 is really minimal, but it doesn't so I hope Subaru really gets its game together, and address it with improved variants down the road.
