I agree! I haven't had to season one from scratch in a long time. I keep our's in good shape by never using soap (only hot water), scraping the leftovers out with one of the chain scrubbers (here's an example: www.amazon.com/Herda-Upgraded-Chainmail-Stainless-Accessories/dp/B08HHXDDPC), heating up the skillet to remove any water, and applying a thin coat of oil to the cooking surface.
