    Been watching a few of these conversions as I want to do this to my mower. One guy opened up the front of the mower to more readily accept what it was cutting and the brush and weeds being cut were less bent over making for a more quicker and efficient cut. Basically fishmouthed the opening as you drive forward. Love the idea you have shared.

    Cool, very innovative! Of course they tell you, "It can't be done," because they want you to spend your money on their products.

    "surplus center" is where I got parts and pumps, I told them machine flow numbers and what I was doing and they gave me right pumps!

      +Jay Hansen Wouldn't an overrun clutch work just the same as the bypass valve? Probably not cheaper but less work. And instead of shear bolt you could also use a pto clutch as well.

    I like it. Seems to cut better than lots of the purpose built $5,000.00 units for skid steers. So many of them that I have watched bog down in grass like that. They have to go very slow or are going forward and back or taking a half width cut. I am building a 6' one from my King Kutter 3 point. It will have an 8 in motor for the 23 gpm.

    I finally found a beat up 72” bush hog, I’ll order all my parts from the surplus center tomorrow. Where did you find that U joint coupler with the shear pin? That’s what I need for The 1 3/8” shaft on the gear box of the bush hog. Thanks for your video it is the best one on TH-cam and I looked as a lot.

    Well I used a skidsteer mount plate with a lot of welded on brackets. I called surplus super center with my flows and line psi and they told me what hydraulic motor to use! Don't know if it would be the same one? As for a u joint that also depends non your brush hog and motor. 3/4 inch hoses 7' long

    Great job. I need to build a sander bucket attachment. I have the Cat242D --I am going to use a hydraulic motor to drive spinner. so of coarse a motor that handles 3335 PSI. the specs say 20 gpm flow. so should I purchase the pump close to as flow rate? or does that matter as you said your motor was around 6.
    Thanks for the help'''

    just picked up a case 1845 skid steer, and want to do the same thing. did you also get the universal joint drive from surplus center?. Also thanks for sharing your info ,I own a welding company in Hawaii needless to say we have a lot of greenery to mow, Awesome job!!!

    • @CSWmanofsteel
      @CSWmanofsteel 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@joequint I’m finishing up the complete rebuild on my 1835C case Skidsteer first but I’ve partially built the brush mower housing and got suggestions form surplus center on the hydraulic motor and pressure relief valve. My Skidsteers GPM is 16.4 at 2700rpm so the hydraulic motor suggested is item number 9-7368-125 and the relief valve number is 9-8745. I have 3 gear boxes I can choose from for the mower drive so I’ll experiment and see which one works best. Thanks for your interest.

    • @BigIronTV
      @BigIronTV 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Clint Terry The motor will very depending on your hydraulic output. You will need to know the gallons per minute of flow and the operating pressure at your maximum flow. I called and told them the flow and pressure and what output rpm I wanted. Then they calculated the displacement size of motor that would give me the desired rpm at the specified flow and pressure. I used a char-lynn 2000 series with an internal cross flow valve so I did not have to put the external valve in for spin down.
