    Nice I was wondering when you'd get one of these. A few unsolicited tips for running it,
    Keep the throttle up to keep the blade tip speed up so it will cut more than tear. Also keep the blades sharp.
    The dust they throw up will clog the radiators and cause overheating fairly quickly. Especially when cutting dry, light material like grass. Clean them often and make sure any temperature warning lights are working and the rest of the cooling system is in good shape.
    When cutting dense material like grass and weeds angle the front down and rear up to scythe material off and clear it efficiently. When cutting thin material like trees and shrubs do the opposite to chop them up finer.
    Lastly get a door. Getting smacked in the face with sticks gets real old real quick.

      @Victor Sligo, I see your point: it's said there is a time and a place for everything and with good judgement even that new tool has a place in Andrew's system of work. And yes it looked like a lot of work went into taking out some few trees and that a largish view was maintained. But you also see as the drone receded into the sky that the entire area becomes a forest with very little impression of housing or open yards. I think Levi and Andrew can breath freely for the moment. And with people making good decisions we all can for the future.

      @Viktor Sligo How many trees you have in a city? That's seems to be a city view,that you have. But people have no trees in a city?! As a city expands so the trees go.
      What he is doing is forest management,we can't have trees cover 100% of the land we wouldn't exist.

    • @buggscarrot9557
      @buggscarrot9557 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Viktor Sligo You MUST live in a city. That's where all the forest wear clear cut. And your very stupid,if stuff out in the country wasn't managed then the roads would be overgrown,and the houses would be pushed off there foundations.

    My brother uses one to mow the edges of his hay fields, great for reaching under fences along edges and lanes. He put a pair of removable field-mower height-adjustable swivel-wheels on the front so that it can float most of the time while cutting on-the-flat that he can flip-up when he needs to push it through brush and scrub. Beats have to reverse a brush-hog into scrub behind your back. His has an on-off toggle to activate the mower hydraulics, also for his pavement-brush and snow-blower attachments.

    • @chrislangdell117
      @chrislangdell117 5 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      He needs a bigger machine. Something the size of a bobcat T-300 or bigger. Hi flow hydraulics are very necessary to get this machine to cut right.
      After he gets a shatter proof door and more flow he can drive into a tree with this mower at a 45 degree angle about 3 feet off the ground and it will literally explode the tree into shattered shredded pieces.

      As long as he doesn't raise it above the opening of the skid steer, the 3/8" plate of the mower will stop anything. Cabs are good for A/C and heat... and apparently they allow rocks which bounce off of trees to come flying through the glass. It's amazing how hard something will bounce off of a tree from the underside of a mower. The RPM on that deck isn't nearly as fast as a finish mower though, so that should also limit projectiles.

      Theres a company that makes bullet proof forestry doors for all skidsteers. If I were Andrew I'd get one, plus a truckers dash fan and I wouldn't run every where all of the time! Haha. Amazing video, first time I've ever seen one of these in slow motion. 2 thumbs up

      If definitely spins down on the big trees, but then again, the switch in the cab already makes it pretty clear that the hydraulic lines he hooked the implement up to aren't meant for continuous use, and are meant for stuff like the moving grabbers like on some of his buckets. I'm actually quite impressed at how well this worked, given that it's not a hi-flow connection. Only thing he may need to worry about is overheating the hydraulic pump, it may not be rated for continuous use, but I'm sure it's mostly fine.
