    Another good one! As a compulsive Andrew Camarata consumer, I have to say that the ratio of time lapse/standard footage that works well for keeping people's attention is closer to 80/20. Part of that is the fact that he has a second camera, I'm sure, so the wide shot is always getting captured, and he can make a time lapse for that. You can also try mounting higher in the cab and switching to Wide (assuming this is a GoPro or similar) and getting that time lapse, switching to standard when you hit something interesting. Keep 'em coming!

    Excellent video. I hope you silenced the grapeheads who tell you to walk through the lot before cutting. A copperhead can be a very persuasive point in your favor. Your use of camera positions was first-rated as was your set-up narration. But there was no need to apologize at the end. You did everything perfectly. Looking forward to Part 2.

    There is something about watching a video like this that relaxes me. do they ever have you rake the area that you have cleared so it can be moved with a yard mower? I operated a dozer while I was in-country as part of my assignment, I really like that part of the job. Thanks for a very outstanding video. (Mississippi gulf coast).

    • @idigit4967
      @idigit4967  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed! Typically no, the area will get raked whenever it get develops. Until then most owners are content to let them be as they are and get mowed every 6 months or so. This one hadn't been cut in awhile so it was a bit worse than what is typical.

    • @JackMacLupus
      @JackMacLupus 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well i think that the difference is that this is a mower attachment, while the drum models are more like mulchers.
      I mean, this one here works wonderful for this kind of brush and small trees, but if you have bigger stuff like stumps and such a drum mulcher is a little bit better.
      Well, its like they say in Far Cry 6: "Always use the right tool for the job." XD

    You need to get a forestry mulcher for jobs like that. Faster and don't have to worry about limbs or trees, logs Or stumps It'd Chew right thru them and mulcher has faster recovery time. Instead of almost destroying that blade. Yours seemed a bit slow for that brush
    That good for grass light brush. But that job needed a mulcher

    • @idigit4967
      @idigit4967  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Maybe, but it got the job done and that's what matters. But the good thing is my blades are a hell of a lot cheaper to replace if I destroy them compared to the teeth on a mulcher. But regardless, yes I do eventually want a mulcher. Any brands you recommend?

      Hey John! 333 series is a great machine! If you have high flow these rotary cutters are a beast! This one is rated for 7" material and can do about 90% of what most drum mulchers can do so if you are mostly doing 7" material or less this is a much cheaper and efficient option and it is versatile as you can also do bush hogging and mowing jobs as well, which would not be something you would want to do with a mulcher. This happened to me a couple of years ago, 2 acres of my land had overgrown and I had to get heavy equipment to clear it, ton of Blackberries bushes destroyed but it was becoming a jungle, so now its smooth land

    Standard flow or high flow machine? Just surprised how much it bogged the mower down if that's a high flow machine. Don tons of cutting with a standard PTO bush hog on stuff that size (standing in the seat to see over trees in spots) and some with a Gehl V420 which is a little over 40gpm with a Blue Diamond Series 2 and it would chew up 6 inch+ trees and was rated for 10 inch. Mostly in pine with blue diamond so it was soft wood.

    I was wondering about snakes and your job just as long as they’re on the ground and you’re in the cabin I guess everything is okay they’re more scared of you than you are of them in theory anyhow 👀😳

      I was operating a Fecon mulcher one time and I keep getting a tickle on my left elbow. I reach my left arm up and scratch and put it back down on the arm rest only to have it tickle again. About the third time of me itching my arm, I looked down to see what kind of string, towel, or rag was rubbing the back of my arm. It was a snake licking the back of my arm!!! I couldn't get that machine stopped and slowed down fast enough! Exit stage right I went. Fortunately it didn't bite me and was just a harmless snake, but a danger noodle nonetheless!

    i enjoying your videos. but when you run this machine you have to keep backing up and pulling forward. why don't you invent a platform for that like a lawn mower. keep moving forward with a wide open front, blade is visible from the front, no front guard, and exhaust to the side? you can do this job in half the time. keep up the good work.

  • @ron.v
    @ron.v 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Just a suggestion, could you not move your head so fast when videoing with the head cam? Or maybe just lose the headcam and video using some other method. It's dizzying when you move your head so fast, otherwise it was a great video. Thanks.

    I just showed this to my mother, who's 100 years old (really), and she was fascinated and loved watching the entire thing. She was most interested that this machine can cut down such large stuff, as well as grind it all up to where the area looks like it's a lawn.

    hi, i like watching these type of videos. as someone mentioned, to keep our attention, i prefer the wide angle from the side. i do have a question, and fyi ive never operated any machine like that, but it seems theres an easier way to do this? im an army guy and i hate going backwards and u go in reverse A LOT. would it not be better to raise it up, mover forward about 6 feet, bring it down to the ground destroying everything, raise it up, move forward 6 feet, repeat? thanks!

    The only thing I see wrong with this video is for time and production I would sell that mower and skid steer buy a tractor and 15 foot bat wing and the couple hours you wasted on that it would already be done sorry for negativity but saving time and money means a lot I do this stuff for a living there nothing there a batwing wouldn't cut up but good work man glad to watch

      Here is the link to these rotary cutters:
      www.mtlattachments.com/brush-cutters-1
      Never used a drum mulcher but they are awesome and work well for alot of applications, and one would have worked well here. They are just way more expensive than rotary cutters and the teeth are expensive when they have to be replaced, the blades on these cutters are relatively inexpensive and there are only 3 of them, unlike on a mulcher where you will have 30 or so teeth. But I would love to have a drum mulcher one day for sure!
