The most impressive thing about that black truck was how he managed to do a SAS and end up with less articulation than the original IFS. That truck has no business lifting tires on any of these rocks. Don't want to rain on anybody's parade, but that is a bad build. Something was done wrong and it isn't working like it should.
The driver of the black Hilux is, to put it bluntly not ready to go off road seriously. He stalls like an L plater in a parking lot. That SAS'd Hilux should be eating all those tracks. He obviously has no idea how to 4x4 and pick decent lines. An experienced off roader can pick a line thats not going to force them to put excessive pressure on the drive line and possible destroy CV's and diffs. For a better comparison give say Shauno Or Jocko a go in both vehicles and send em up the same tracks a couple times. see which ideally does the best.
The Solid axle driver needs to buy a Lada Niva, he’s giving solid axle drivers a bad name😂 The ifs driver had his sandwich’s eaten before ol mate got to the top..
The sas’d lux canopy movement on first obstacle shows how much stress is being placed on the chassis. Not suggesting a problem but clearly a lot of weight out back.
Best 4wd mods to out on your stock 4wd. Diff lockers, 2 inch lift, winch. Most of this other bull crap like roof racks, big mirrors, huge heavy canopy and heavy tray should all be left for the easy tracks. Most of 4wd Actions videos consist of winching because of all these sponsored mods they are pretty much forced to use
With all the weight transfer on the rear end bouncing on those rocks spinning tires and shock loading the rear differential is a recipe for a rear pinion gear SNAP
I feel like the driver in the black hilux thinks he's driving a petrol, why give it so much guts? You got the turbo diesel just let it crawl with no wheel spin
The white Hilux is the proof that you don't need 37" tyres and a big lift or SAS to have a capable 4x4. Just some basic things and twin lockers, with some good driving and you can do everything.
80-series solid axle have bigger brakes, and less components to worry about breaking. It doesn't really need lifts, as it will be lifted to have clearance on the front frame.
Yeah there’s a few differences between them two 💯 weight, height, tyre size and gearing as well and always driver’s see things differently as well but we both had a fun time 🥰
@@ashdivakaran9664 its not something you should be surprised about honestly, this type of track isn't something that requires a lot of flex therefore the IFS didnt have problems. The biggest issue with the black Lux is how heavy it was at the back end and also the fact of how much its lifted causes it to be top heavy which means it leans a lot and the wheels that need the weight dont have it because its all being leaned to the other side.
I know I'm probably beating a dead horse here but to the dude with the black lux, you need to ditch the two spares you got hanging off the back man. With all that weight torquing on your frame sooner or later your bound to cause stress cracks.
One truck with 15 psi air pressure and other with 67830 psi. Everything both cars are different, tires size, tire pressures, weights, but they still say to compare between the solid and ifs 🤣🤣🤣🤣
just goes to show where u should be putting ur money first if u really want to wheel. lockers and a 2 inch lift, tick. loaded canopy, big lift, sas, all look good but not great on track. In my opinion. the fella in the sas to his cred looks a bit green so it might be a bit unfair.
Solid axle all the way, and not just because I dropped off my first gen tacoma today for its S.A.Swap with my custom Dana 30/44 HP fully sleeved with Dana 44 outers and 6 lug conversion 😆 because it's just stronger 💪 and better for this Type of offroad, IFS drives nice on road but is definitely not as durable or just Kool as Fuck! And as much as I love white, that Black Yota looks Black Opps ⚫️ Badass! Great video Brothers, keep up the good work 👏 #blacktrucksmatter #whitetrucksmatter to 😆
This is a horrible comparison. The lighter truck is going to handle better nomatter what suspension is under the front. I'm not siding with either types and I have had a lot of fun in both types but this comparison is as bogus as they come. It's like they're trying to handicap the solid axle to prove a point. This video doesn't prove anything except weight isn't your friend...

Tyre pressures, canopy, Cg, line, clutch and throttle control etc. Many more differences than just IFS vs SAS lol. Looks like you all had fun though.
100 % weight making a huge difference and driver too
Luv how practical the white truck looks :).
Looks like a camping rig lol
White hilux stuck to picked lines closer, had better throttle control and was a more composed driver. Well driven.

That white hilux is more how my Ute is gonna be, light, locked and simple
Less mods less problems 😎
Looks like the black rig had every mod installed except the one that really counts: the driver mod
The builds I admit are definitely different for sure 😊
I just installed a front locker in my ranger and it transformed it's offroad ability.
Nicely done mate 👌
Rangers are an awesome thing std but when you front lock them they are insane 🤘
How does it ride on road? How does it go when ur pushing it fast? And what axle did u swap it to?
@@wilsmith9230 I fitted an arb air locker to the front diff. No axle swap required. There's no activation on the road like a mechanical locker.
Dunno whether to blame the driver or the weight in that dark hilux
Id say the weight thats a heavy back end
Low, light and Locked. Awesome drive
Thanks mate, yep fewer mods fewer problems 🤘

From my experience ifs with twin lockers and 33 tyres is the best combination for everything
I know there Both Manual but the White IFS Hilux Drove up Like a Auto!!! Sick Track
Thank you Mr Danger
Lol white one is auto
@@leviodonoghue4523 ...it's a manual mate, I was there 😊
@@rangerdanger5712 yer i can see the gear stick now lol, whats the trick? Reduction gears? Small tyres? Burnt clutch? How does he do it

My guess is tyre size and gear ratio. Needs some reduction gears. Why he keeps stalling it I’d say. The extra weight and bigger tyres
The white Hilux is the proof that you don't need 37" tyres and a big lift or SAS to have a capable 4x4. Just some basic things and twin lockers, with some good driving and you can do everything.
Basic seems to work so well imo 👌
The spring rate on the sas is too soft and those tires hanging off the back would be taking alot of traction off the front end .
Or is it because of the weight in the rear?
80-series solid axle have bigger brakes, and less components to worry about breaking. It doesn't really need lifts, as it will be lifted to have clearance on the front frame.
Love the sassed n70 but gotta say would’ve just bought an ln106 don’t think n70’s are worth sassing, would’ve been so expensive just for rock crawler
I totally agree 💯 and the Ln106 has got to be the best lux of imo 🤤
Not fair comparison. The second one for sure is very heavy in the back.
Was the black truck even in low range? Seemed like he was using 1st high a lot of the time
I agree, if he was in low range the truck shouldn’t roll back like that
Seems like slightly different lines and that dark truck had alot of weight on the back.
Still had more power and suspension mods to counter that weight so it was a fair battle the ifs just did better
The sassed lux is carrying a lot of weight behind the rear axel so it’s struggling to drive the tracks that the lighter IFS lux drove.
Yeah there’s a few differences between them two 💯 weight, height, tyre size and gearing as well and always driver’s see things differently as well but we both had a fun time 🥰
@@outthereoffroad4x458so is IFS better then a solid axel?
Taking some air out of those tires will help
Obviously the IFS Hilux was locked
Both twin locked and running same lockers
Sassed 35s tyres
Ifs 32.6s tyres

Marlins new rclt kit has me looking at that instead of sas'in my taco. Sick stuff
That kit looks sooo……. Nice 🤤
The tyre pressures look like they could loose a few psi as tyres didn't really bag to much
That was just torture to watch, somebody needs to teach that gala to drive......
What gearing is the sased lux running.
Looks like it needs better gearing either 4.56 and above
its one thing to have soild axles and coils front and rear but whats the point with the added weight and instability
Still leaf rear mate and with the weight it’s how he wanted to set it up
Hey could someone please tell me the colour of where to get that paint for the sas Hilux ?
Raptor coating
IFS for the win 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Clearly its the transmission 🙃
@@leviodonoghue4523 CLEARLY IFS for the win. The other Bloke made it look hard when he should of mopped the floor with the ifs..

Great video. Is that an aluminium or steel canopy? Cheers.
Whats this track called mate? Looks like fun 😎

It's not about the vehicle it's about how experienced the driver is and does he know what he's doing
