    Great vid, helped a lot. Going to hit bass cove soon after multiple days at Chabot with no bites. Im a new fisherman, using spinners and powerbait on 20 lb. line. You think going to bass cove is mid July is still the best chance?

      change out to 6lb test mono
      20lb way too much

      6 or 4 pound fluorocarbon leader. The trout are seeing your line.

    Thanks for the video! Im thinking about renting a boat and trolling around some of these points what lures would you recommend and where would you go?

    • @TheEastBayAnglers
      @TheEastBayAnglers  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would troll in to Rc pt fish along the right close as you can to shore without snagged bank anglers lines then do a u and troll the opposite side that has the toolies along it come all the way to the point that is closest to the island turn around and repeat again and again. cd-3 firetiger silver and blue or orange and silver. also f7 jointed rapalas in the same colors or a large Kastmaster. Troll 1.3-1.7mph

    Thanks for your info. I have been fishing Chabot for years. You are so right about Racoon Point. You have to get their early.
    I would love to know if there is some sort of map showing the depth of each part of the lake. I have never caught at Cootes Landing. It is really windy so that might be a factor.
    Bass Cove, is my goto spot. It is beautiful and even if you don't catch it, at least you are able to relax for a couple of hours without too many people.

    • @TheEastBayAnglers
      @TheEastBayAnglers  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I am not sure about if a map that shows depth, but ask me i can tell ya. I have run through that lake many times with a fishfinder Deepest part of the lake is by the dam, the racoon pt area is not deep even in open water the bass cove area is deep
      deepest area is like 52 ft

    As of early January 2022, most areas I have scouted have poor water clarity. Which area seems to be best at this time of year? Does the water clarity in one spot clear up earlier than the others?

    • @TheEastBayAnglers
      @TheEastBayAnglers  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The best water clarity in the lake is over by bass cove area opposite the popular cove area there is a mountain point tules running along it bam i would fish there and also along the opposite on rc pt area good luck A RIG

    Does it make sense to go over to Coots landing now at the middle to end of May? The depth is deeper on this side then it is over at Indian cove side. Thanks!!!

      Yes the sticks are very popular there a series of trees in the water thats a good spot also points

    thanks for the video. do these planted trouts grow larger over days? looks like they are planting there today. trying to decide if I should go this weekend or should wait a week.

    • @TheEastBayAnglers
      @TheEastBayAnglers  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Always better to go the week of, no they do not grow larger. Most planted fish are caught within 3 - 4 week's, i would be at racoon pt. right about now! First week of December has been epic for me there. Ask me any question's any time.

    I'd like to take my teenaged son here later this week (Nov 2020). Trout, bass or panfish are all OK. I just want him to have some success. What fishing rigs would you recommend?

    • @TheEastBayAnglers
      @TheEastBayAnglers  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      call the marina ask if they planted recently, go to rc. pt. fish the left side of it to the left of the dock 40 ft or so best bet is trout.

    • @TheEastBayAnglers
      @TheEastBayAnglers  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      powerbait on a carolina rig

    • @TheEastBayAnglers
      @TheEastBayAnglers  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In truth at this time of year i would fish the deeper water try the back of the lake around bass cove, still there are fish in the shallows early and late,

    Is a 1/2 ounce kastmaster good for fishing off the shore? Is a heavier one better?

    • @TheEastBayAnglers
      @TheEastBayAnglers  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      1/2 Ounce is good. I would change out the hook to a smaller treble.
