Started fishing 3 weeks ago at the age of 25, I have felt annoying asking men around me who have fished their whole lives questions, “powerbait and a bobber, they stock this lake in may” I want to say thank you for being so informative and entertaining, thanks to this video and the advice and technique demos, I successfully, set up my own pole, got fish appropriate rigging after research, used this spinner tutorial in my ears while I was doing it, and on my third cast caught an 16” Trout. You’re going to inspire some kid like me who thinks it’s too late to learn and have fun… great stuff. - sincerely some 25 year with a smile on his face
I’m sixty seven and yesterday, after a couple of hours of no bites on a new lake, I asked another fishermen “what works?”, after a short chat I got to work and went home about two hours later with four excellent trout. Never be afraid to ask.
I am 24 years old and just recently picked it back up since I was a kid only catching sunnies I am the same way setting up my own pole now and learning the terminology.
Extremely over fished pond by my house. No luck with spinners or bait. Two blue gill in one day with a pink trout magnet. Best has been a super tiny brown zebra fly which caught eight fish. Good luck!
I’ve learned a lot from them too, I think I started watching them when I was 19 or 20 but really got into fishing last year and I’m just about to turn 21. Been chasing steelhead for a long time and hooked into a nice chromer for the first time on a spinner when I couldn’t get one on anything else, didn’t land it but still hooked into him so I know I was doing something right and I was doing almost exactly what Jordan does on the river with spinners.
I am a new to fishing and I have watched a BUNCH of videos for beginners, and so far, yours are the best. Simple. Direct. You actually SHOW the lures etc. Thank YOU!!!!
Yeah, I have to agree. Just beginning fishing and am watching a lot of vids. AF is super clear, helpful and lacks that "high excitement" that just annoys and clouds the message. Keep it up!
I've been spinner fishing for years, one thing I do to help from snagging is I use my needle nose pliers and bend in the hooks just a small amount so they point in. Yes the fish still get hooked.
This video was fantastic. I consider myself a more experienced trout fisherman, flyfishing and spinfishing, and I still recieve very useful tips in these tutorials. You never know so much that you can't learn a little more. Jordan explains very well and goes into great detail. A beginning fisherman can learn tons from Jordan. Great video.
I"ve not used spinners much for trout fishing, however, you're video was SO INFORMATIONAL that we went out today and had great success. We used rooster tails and they hit great! Thank you the simple instructions on how to get set up.
Just wanted to say i grew up bait fishing with my grandpa, but thanks to your channel i only recently just started lure fishing and i love it so much more! You got me addicted. Caught a 16 inch brown trout with a white rooster tail, and 6 other rainbows in one day! Thanks man
That my Friend was the best explanation of set up and use of spinners! I'm getting ready for opening day of trout here in northeast Pennsylvania and needed some tips! Ty
Just got myself and my kids our first set of fishing poles. I’m 34, and I feel there’s so much to learn. I’m pretty clueless with fishing, but we’re extremely stoked on going soon hopefully.
Good luck to you Steven. It’s a great time to get started. I’d recommend TH-cam searching what are popular target species in your state/country and see what techniques are used
Awesome!Don’t get too bogged down in all the tackle. You can make a very simple tackle box for all species with a few Kastmasters, some spinnerbaits,a couple Rapalas and some Zoom rubber worms.
Fisherman/hatchery worker here... nothing beats wheat bread for freshly stocked Trout. The hold overs and natural Trout hit spinners more. We raise our fish in cement canals 300ft x 10ft long being fed brown pellets from small to large. Our trophy fish are fed minnows too after 5-6 pounds. All fish will eat natural landing insects, we only have bird nets around so that free flying bugs can enter to drink some delicious water lol
Thank you for the Panther Martin recommendation. Started the day today with a rooster tail then switched to Panther Martin and caught three stocker lake trout on the latter.
I have never used a spinner Lures or a spoon lures but I watched your tutorial and went out and bought a bunch of spinners and spoons.thank you for your tutorial and all your information. Wish me luck or lots of patience ha ha Ha
Thanks a million for that video. I'm a total novice and heading to Yosemite next week. I feel much more prepared to try my hand at fishing while we're there. I'm going to try and buy a setup like yours depending on the price tag. Thanks again, very informative!
You should try a light bump once it hits the water. I got bites that way. Then small bumps as you reel. Not hard just light almost pulls. Or when your line goes slack. I just got a newer 8.6 celio n 7.6 in ultralight as well I kinda love them both so I bought them in med heavy spinning and casting. So far I am a huge fan as well as the ceymar rells are smooth for the price. Can't wait to see more trout videos
Heading out to Lake Irwin, CO for my first ever attempt at spinner fishing tomorrow! Thanks for the great instruction, will definitely try to put this into action, wish me luck!
Great tutorial. What i do when im fishing an area is counting after spinner hits the water, start to count to 1 to fish shallow to 3 for deep water. Works for me.
I haven't really fished since I was a kid, and there was a grown up telling me how to do it. Now that I have kids of my own, it's my turn to be the grown up, and that's rather daunting. This was amazingly helpful, and I can't wait to take my sons back to the lake to give it a shot!
You are by far the best teacher I have ever seen on TH-cam, or even in-person for that matter. You've helped me so much. You're the dad I never had. I'm not making tbe same mistake, and I am teaching my little girl how to fish and these videos have helped me so much! Now I just have to get her to stop being so scared when she gets a fish on. She thinks they are gonna pull her in the lake off the dock. 🤣 anyways, thanks again man! Love watching your videos. Keep em coming..i don't feel like such a dummy out there after watching these tutorials
Used one of these for the first time today, got 3 crappie and a sauger, which is a new species for me, also one of the crappie was a SLAB . Nice tutorial ty
I just moved to SW Washington from Florida and was looking for a good source of information on fishing the waters here, I'm a long way from what I know and needed exactly what y'all are putting out there. Much appreciated.
This video is gold man. Shared big time. I have both the chartreuse vibrax and the black/gold panther martin. Both have been very success in the lakes and rivers up here in BC. Absolutely spoon colour matters. My banger was a nortac chartreuse with two orange dots, with a gold spoon. Lost it unfortunately but will soon replace. Have it with a silver spoon and it gets almost no hits.
My 1 year old randomly clicked this video and just within 1 minute, I was hooked! You really know your stuff, and I say that this video is one of the best, if not, the best video on fishing spinners and trout.
I absolutely Love your videos. You take the time to show your lures and explain the different techniques for fishing with them. So glad i found you guys!
I like to use bubble floats with my spinners, can really get some good distance with tiny tiny baits. I normally use 14 mono, with a 6 foot 8 lb leader with my bubble and bait on it.
JORDAN! I love your tutorials, man, you are clearly super into what you do, and you show All Of The Steps. I watch other videos and I keep coming back to you, cos they start in the water and don't explain all those steps. you aren't miserly with your knowledge, you clearly want everyone out there having a good, knowledgeable time. liked and subscribed!
Use a rooster tail in the Rocky’s you can catch anything but the best way is to use half a night crawler and put one salmon egg on the end of the hook the best way to catch trout and steelhead
@@lone_wolf_lifestyle that was one of my last casts in that spot before I moved on. I was watching my lure as I brought it back in, a few feet off the bank I saw him pop out from behind a rock and hit it good. Hard hitters!

My wife and I are going fishing in a couple weeks in the Ozarks of Missouri. I've got a hundred new techniques I want to try from watching your vids!! Thanks!!
I’ve learned that adding a salmon egg hook off of the hook and a piece of plastic from a water bottle to hold it on as a trailer hook works well. I started getting more hook ups because many trout just hit at the rooster tails feathers and don’t swallow the hook good enough.

Spinners and rapalas are great, I slay stock trout on the ultralight silver minnow rapala, and Brooks on the mepps agila
grungeboy 175 alright. I fished both those the last couple times I’ve been out, do you add any motion to the rapala aside from the retrieve?
