The way people are saying “Good job!” to the Starbucks singer is exactly like a parent talking to a toddler. Like the way you just get through something and congratulate them for mundane stuff. I know because I have 2 toddlers lol
I work at a KFC restaurant and when I say people are so rude for absolutely no reason, I mean it. One time, I was working late at work and I was on drive thru headset and since there was no one available to help me, I was managing the drive thru on my own. This meant there was a bit of delay with food as I was literally taking an order, making the drinks, taking payment, running to prepare the food and then handing it to the customer. We had a wait on chicken so we were all waiting on food and parking up cars. Short staff, busy night. Some guy came up to the drive thru window and proceeded to YELL at me for waiting 10 minutes in a drive thru. He refused to pay for his food so I tried to reason with him by giving him a free drink or even free food, to which he took. After another 5 minutes, I finally handed this guy his food and before he had even looked in the bag, he immediately complained that it was cold. Before I could say anything, he started to throw food at me (chicken on the fucking BONE) and drive off with the drive thru in a state and even more angry people behind him for the amount of time this guy took up arguing for no reason. I understand his frustration, but when he can see a 17 year old girl loosing her fucking mind all alone in a drive thru, you did not need to throw food in my face. Especially since that shit HURT.
you could have sued him (in a perfect world where everyone has the time and money for a lawsuit lol) for assault for sure, that's literally insane especially if it actually hurt and he was throwing it hard
typical things i had to deal with when i worked in a self serve yogurt place: - regular transphobia (im a trans man and at the time i didnt pass) - harassment because i looked like a girl and was “pretty” - people complaining about what they chose -awful managers -etc
Right? Lol The more it continues, on occasion, I think to myself "Ok Kurtis.. We get it dude" but do I actually want it to end? Nope! Do I ever skip ahead? Nope! Do I wish he cut them down so he fits into the same box all the other predictable, mundane TH-camrs do? Fuck no! Is asking myself & answering questions annoying? Definitely! ....So why do I think that on occasion? *slowly increasing inspirational royalty free music* Don't even pretend you've never thought you wanted something only to find out the opposite is true 3 seconds later or bitched just to bitch, even if its just in your head.🙌 Its TH-cam!✊What would this platform be with bitching for bitchings... sake? *record scratch* Something like that. 🤷♀️ Or I just watch too many Kurtis Conner videos & now I'm fighting with myself too.
Tipping in america is wild, a while back I went to a 9 person dinner party at a local restaurant and after sorting out the bill there was £11 left over and we actually debated over leaving it as a tip because we though it was too much, we ended up leaving it bc why not but if that had been in america the tip would have been more like £40, crazy thats how things are there
@@edenjaycollins6055 in the USA it has been drilled into their minds for the last century (since the Great Depression) that any shortcomings of their economic situation are their fault. So, lets pay all servers literally less than minimum wage and guilt people into paying 20-25% tips. IF you don't tip, you're a fucking asshole bcause you are TAKING FOOD OUT OF THEIR MOUTHS HOW DARE YOU but oh let's not raise their wages, nope.
@@Fearthecow792 I don't think that's what the comment is about though lmao. I read it as like- if you're going to use someone for content, waste their time and cause them discomfort... Maybe give em some change. But yeah American tipping is ridiculous
in australia you only tip if the service is EXCEPTIONAL. i know a lot of people who work jobs in the US make a lot of their money through tips though, my cousin’s girlfriend makes a significant amount from tip.
I love how most people’s reaction to the singing my order thing is really similar to when like a little kid shows you something not that impressive, like they sing really bad or they like “look at this dumb thing I can do”. They’re just like “wow, cooool”.
My grandma is one of the people who are really rude to people in a drive thru one time there was a guy at mcdonalds that was somehow make through the day with smiling all day and being really kind then when we left she said “what the hell was wrong with that guy” changed my entire perspective on my grandma that day
I remember my friend who worked a McDonald’s and he actually had someone who sang their order. He simply says: can you please SAY the order? The woman went livid and drove away
I think another MASSIVE point here, is that this caused someone to actually called the police, wasting time and resources which could have impeded a real emergency.
Like if this happened while I was working I would be 99% sure it was a stupid prank but I would still fret about if I should have called the cops for probably the rest of the day
8:35 this is an inside joke with me and my mom now, we’ll just drop a “spicy southwest salad” to the tune of Memories out of nowhere sometimes. Thanks for making family time -worse- better Kurtis
That singing girl is the type of girl in school who would burst out singing in the middle of class and when people would tell her to stop shed be like "oh haha sorry I forget I'm singing sometimes it's a habit haha" like shut up McKenzi we all know you just want attention
As someone with severe auditory processing issues, if someone tried singing their order to me, I wouldn't be able to hide my annoyance, especially if they still expected me to fulfill their order.
Worst part about the Starbucks singing is that they don’t start the song with the cup size, so the barista can’t grap the right cup and write down whatever tf they’re saying
For real. That’s my biggest pet peeve working at a coffee place. “Coffee cream sugar 5caramel another black and one more with 2cream 1caramel 1mocha 3sugar”...”okay iced or hot for all of those? and what’s the size for all of those and can you repeat the contents thanks” I think people assume we can read minds and just know all of this stuff and get annoyed when we can’t
and that's why I'm thankful I work in a sandwich shop where you write the order on a pad. (also shout out my mans the other day who just kept saying "a regular hoagie" and his toppings when asked what size or type he wanted)
@@ashleyforbes5275 wait i always tried to keep my coffee order short an simple so that i dont annoy the starbucks worker so i say "iced almond late" but i always forget to say what size i want first and they would seem kinda annoyed by the end i didnt know that was the reason👁👁
I always feel bad for workers, especially at Starbucks, because I have anxiety, and the rare occasion I know what to order, I butcher it or forget something (like the size of the cup). I wish I could apologise in advance to all of them 😂
They really need to get rid of, “The customers always right” slogan. The only time it’s even used is when people want to use it against the worker/company
That shit genuinely has made me want to quit so many times. When I worked at Jimmy John's though, they didn't believe that shit so thankfully I never broke down crying because of a dickhead manager. (It definitely happened at Wendy's plenty tho.)
As a co manager for a large retail store we were taught to "say Yes to the guest." We were told to not tell them no. Same concept different wording. Big cringe from me. I've never understood why there are rules and policies if we are told to just break them for people who are disrespectful? Then they act disrespectful to get what they want thus Karen is born.
here’s my horror story: i was working as a barista in a cafe right when covid was starting to hit in NY and a guy comes in and demands his coffee and then goes “and i’ll also take one of these” and then REACHED HIS HAND INTO THE COOKIE JAR. I almost screamed, i was so shocked. I had to scold a grown man and be like “sir i’m going to ask that you NEVER do that again, for general hygiene and also we are in a PANDEMIC” and he looked at me like i was out of my mind. He did not tip me and I had to throw out all the cookies.
This. Like I get you think it's cute but honestly this shit would make my job even more hellish. Also, the cringe. She sings good but it's just not the time or place for it.
The fact that Kurtis connected the firefighter stuck in the Starbucks line due to the singing order girl to the vlogger father who lost his 22 family members makes me wonder if all of his weird scenarios are in the same universe.
In that universe, there is no hope, there is no good, there is no evil. There is only pure chaos. I get up everyday fearing that the world I woke up in is the one inside his mind.
maybe mama giggins is with her outdoor husband,,, and the reason papa giggins cant find her is cuz he cant leave the house. (mama giggins' outdoor husband is the guy who threw a golfball @ kurtis obviously cuz you cant throw golfballs when ur inside, its against the laws of gravity)
10:21 bro my sister told me that someone started singing his order at her job and IMMEDIATELY after she got off she told me how embarrassing it was, like nobody was even recording he was rlly just singing just cuz
“Essential workers” always get shit on, and I always found it a little insulting to be called “essential” because the pay never reflected that, nor did the respect.
Yeah the lack of respect and recognition to those who are classed as essential workers are given is awful. A lot of people take cashiers and those in similar jobs for granted
Dude the reactions to that woman singing in the Starbucks drivethru feels like the real life version of those Reddit stories where people are like yea I did this totally awesome thing and at the end everyone clapped and gave me a high five. like those poor workers were probably like how do I react to this I’m literally just trying to get through the day and you’re sitting here holding up my line for a tiktok
The whole “singing your order” thing is a guarantee that I’m gonna get your order wrong, I barely have the attention span and listening comprehension to hear spoken words. I don’t even mean this out of malice, it’s just a natural consequence
Omg that’s exactly what I was thinking. 😭 I’d have to be like “Cool, but I didn’t catch any of that because I was distracted. Could you please say it again, normally?”
Honey same the songs are like " can I get a venti coffee coffee also can I get a fricking ice cream with two tears from a unicorn and can I also get a subway sandwich with an exhale of human breath and can I get a get a freshly slaughtered human child " ( also I know this is like an essay but ya )
I'm a musical theatre student and I work as a barista, so I am VERY AFRAID that someone will try to do that while I'm working because I will have absolutely no idea how to respond
My auditory processing issues could NOT handle the singer. My first response would be 'I did not understand what you said could you please repeat that?' 🤣
They'll get in trouble if they don't smile in many establishments, people who've actually worked in places like that know this already lol you're told to always smile in front of guests
the girl that sung her order seems like that one kid that would always sing to themselves getting louder and louder until someone gave them a compliment
I knew this girl who's friends with someone I used to be friends with, she always randomly broke into song whenever she was hanging out with a group Like wow, you're singing, good for you
The employees who had to sit through the singing must've had the same feeling you get when people are singing happy birthday to you and you have no idea what to do
I just commented the same thing. I could feel their pain. But my name is Lisa so people generally just sing me the song from The Simpson’s now that I’m 32 and not 5. But I still remember, dammit!
now I kinda wanna write a crime thriller where the kids of a family blogging channel go missing and the detective has to figure out if it was a coincidence or foul play that the parents are acting suspicious...
I'm with everyone as far as this stuff is stupid and needs to stop, I don't like these people and I don't want this to seem like I'm backing them up. With that out of the way, I just thought I'd say that I think she did that on purpose. A lot of female singers have been breaking their voices intentionally recently.
Padmé Amidala it’s very, very common in pop music and R&B nowadays. You’ll hear it a lot in Christian music as well. I don’t know why they do it, but they do, and people like it.
Yeah they don't got time for it if you wanna sing do it somewhere else if you can't make them laugh or make there job a bit more enjoyable then just get an order and leave
that order-singing woman is literally only doing this to get praise from people who have no other choice but to be polite to her face, how desperate do you have to be
Dude If I was in the baristas position I'm joining kurtis and moving because oh my God! Stop singing, just order and go so I could leave my minimum wage job and play resident evil 2 Like I don't care about your over singing, "omg I totally can't sing", fishing for compliments ass! I just wanna go home.
The girl at 7:50 should have done a cover pf a metal song. That would have been very entertaining. "Can I get a VIIIIIIIIIIIIIINTEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE ICED COFFEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE"
People who sing to the drive thru workers are the kids who would sing in the middle of class and just look around at people for them to compliment them. Also giggins gang forever
@@Thawah lmao no, not to my knowledge. I just meant that his Vines where he oversings are clearly meant to be obnoxious and parodic but that one girl is out here re-enacting them irl like these workers are gonna sign her w/ a record label.
People read me their account numbers over the phone for my job, and if they say “fourteen” instead of “one four” I cannot remember a thing. If someone sang it I would simple hang up.
They would like sing their whole order and I’d let them sit in it for a second so that they think about what they really just did, and then I would look them in the eye and say “what?” and then just make them repeat it but actually speaking.
They’re tryna get their reaction, like they really don’t care people think that their singing is otherworldly and they’re gonna be like “OMG that’s the best singing I’ve ever heard” like no they don’t get paid enough to care
As someone who works in hospitality and retail. I can tell you we don’t have time and energy to deal with this shit, work can be stressful enough and stuff like this just ruins our days and makes us consider if it’s even worth it anymore. Also pro tip don’t mess with people that make your food, I definitely agree in that working these jobs have given a new appreciation for these kinds of jobs. Just cause your job involves serving someone, doesn’t make you less of a person and give people the opportunity to kick you down. I definitely Gumball did a great episode on these kinds of jobs, and what we have to go through sometimes when someone decides to be an asshole to you cause they think they’re above you
If a girl came through the drive threw singing I would just wait until she finished then repeat her order back to make sure I got it right and just not even acknowledge the fact that she sung her order.
People who are working are trapped. They can't leave if they're uncomfortable because they're doing their job. Anyone who makes them put up with this crap is very selfish and socially inept. I'm a nurse. I'm also a person who can't leave my job. When a person makes that situation uncomfortable it makes me very angry because they know I can't leave my patients.

When I worked at Wendy's we were rated on our drive through performance by how long people sat in the line at each window. There was a sensor and a timer and we'd get in trouble if our daily average went over like a minute. So if someone sang to me in drive thru after already picking up their order (especially if there were people behind them) I'd be fucking pissed.
I’m not gonna lie i work in fast food and I’ve gotten to the point that if someone is being rude or not complying when ordering I’ll just say their total and tell them to pull forward
We do that at the place I work too!!! The thing that pissed me off the most is when they just sit there for like 2 minuets enjoying their drink/food. Like excuse me? Can you not??
@@gracie20 we didn't get tips at Wendy's (which was fine because we actually made $10/hr) and I never had a personal issue with this but as a store we got in trouble for being over time and at least one of my co-workers had a pay cut for going to far over the daily average for several weeks in a row. But it was impossible... We'd have a huge lunch rush and it wouldn't reset for every car or someone would order a meal for 35 people in the drive thru. That happened a lot actually.
W T F those people are fucked up on all kinds of levels
you could have sued him (in a perfect world where everyone has the time and money for a lawsuit lol) for assault for sure, that's literally insane especially if it actually hurt and he was throwing it hard

Right? I have no idea what she ordered
If they get the order wrong, she sings complaints to the manager
I bet for every 10 orders she makes there's at least 2 who weren't up for boosting her ego

Customers are almost always wrong, and the ones who are rude are ALWAYS wrong
i think it's mostly for food? you want to please the people who are eating your food so you want to tailor it to their tastes. that's pretty much it.
The customer is always right in matters of taste is the full saying but ppl ignore the last part
here’s my horror story: i was working as a barista in a cafe right when covid was starting to hit in NY and a guy comes in and demands his coffee and then goes “and i’ll also take one of these” and then REACHED HIS HAND INTO THE COOKIE JAR.

@@ona512 wait what? I need the back story about the dog
@@alonelycollegestudent9937 I think they said that part about the dog bc in the video they're allowing the dog to eat what looks like vanilla ice cream...I'm not sure if that's what a dog is supposed to eat??
@@alonelycollegestudent9937 The dog is eating whip cream, which really isn't good for them. Starbucks whip cream especially since they add vanilla sugar syrup to it.
jenna H it’s a puppuccino. it’s just a cup of whipped cream for your dog that they sell at Starbucks.
I like kurtis because he’s just a normal everyday dude who understands other normal people but he’s also a silly man
The last part was kinda mean but alright
@@rooty how is that mean?
@@rooty it wasn't mean, it was a compliment hahs
@@solyanaberhe5655 it’s a reference to a joke kurtis made in the video
Silly man
The irony of “we are free to decide” being sung over a FAMILY CHANNEL while the children are in frame
I can't believe kurtis would steal Cody Ko's mustache like that, smh
😤👊
Wow I thought only Danny and Drew copied Cody Ko
Smh my head 😔
they both shaved it too
Or it would be that Cody’s mustache ran away and the mustache was added into kurtis
“she’s got a great voice” uh but does she tho? she sings like she got one (1) solo in choir and never shut up about it
and the solo was probably like 2 adlibs
Oh my lord, I hate those types of people. I have one of those at my school, if you're reading this, I hate you Mary, always remember that.
she literally sounds like how you described it. also when she’s supposed to go higher (which we saw she was able to do) during “all i want for christmas is you” but she got LOUDER and it was the worst. my ear hurt :(

I just saw this one video of a Starbucks employee just shutting the drive thru window after a tiktok girl started to sing to her. It’s the funniest thing I’ve ever seen
Okay I NEED the link to this video
I saw the video on Instagram apparently that was her boyfriend or husband ionno but it was her significant other.
@@deeeveeniy aww man its still pretty funny tho
Satisfying embarrassment
Someone find this video.
willing to bet the guy’s comment at 13:57 was 10xs funnier than his entire set
why does kurtis look like an off brand version of himself in this
Yeah he looks more like a Curtis in this one 😂
I'm confused lmao facts 😂
Still Emo Mustache.
Great value kurtis
curtis konner ❤️
I worked as a waitress for 15 years. One day I had our local judge sit in my section and long story short he left me in tears. He was so fucking mean to me for no reason and still got perfect service. He tipped me a penny.....that's one story of thousand's of horrible humans I've served
That’s absolutely terrible. I’m so sorry that you had to go through that. Some people are such assholes sometimes and it’s terrible.
I'm sorry man.
OMG i had a judge come to a dairy queen where i worked we were slammed at the time so i put his change coins mind u on the counter and he says hey..cone back here pick that up put it in my hand.. I gave him a look like WTF? He says.. Wats a matter u dont like the color of my skin?? What??? Dude i am as dark as u.. I was in tears my boss came out told him to leave... And dont cone back... Come back not 🍦
@@cathyroberts9155 that’s so terrible. That judge seems like an awful person. Why would someone ever do such a terrible thing?!? Probably had low self-esteem and tries to make himself feel better by putting others down. I’m so sorry you had to go through that. You deserve move better. Your boss seems like a good person though.
@@luuuuux_ he is and yes shame some people let power go to their head.. He's now a public defender..😂
Same! I worked at Dunkin and when we went over certain times we got our tips revoked
I’m not gonna lie i work in fast food and I’ve gotten to the point that if someone is being rude or not complying when ordering I’ll just say their total and tell them to pull forward
To clarify I’m talking about people that don’t answer my questions or are so intoxicated that they can’t order
Gigantic orders in the drive thru.... Like you're gonna be waiting for it anyway so don't hold up the line just come inside.
I just know that if I were the barista I'd be so taken aback that I wouldn't have heard her order properly and I'd have had to awkwardly ask for it again. I recently quit my restaurant job, but my anxiety there made it hard enough to pay attention to people's orders when they were just talking... Absolute nightmare.
Kurtis looks like a bowling alley attendant from the 90s
A C C U R A T E
