  • Got some Cherokees together for one last romp in the woods for the season. It was a great day on the trails and everyone enjoyed it despite some unintended damage to the doors of everyone who didn't have rock rails. I still feel soo bad about that!
    Keep an eye out for more random vids over the winter, but i don't think i'll be out wheeling until spring. There is a high chance there will be a Modified spring ride in commemoration of my 2 year lift and tires!
    Finally got some much needed PC upgrades installed so after reinstalling everything i started editing some stuff again! (still missing some of my settings...oh well)
    Mods:
    -Rocky Road Super Sliders (rock rails)
    -Dobinsons KL Trailhawk suspension lift, paired with partial Hazard Sky lift spacers to achieve 2.5" lift
    -32" Milestar Patagonia MTs (265/70/17) (had to trim front fenders and pinch welds)
    -40" Rough Country Curved LED DLR Light bar with Hazard Sky mounts
    -Rock Lights (cheapo)
    -4" Pod Lights (cheapo)

    I have always wanted a JK and then rented a KL and fell in love. For at least a year I’ve been seriously hunting and exactly one week ago I bought my first car on my own and it’s a ‘19 stock trailhawk. I’m am so excited for what’s to come and your channel has been a huge motivator in what’s capable and what’s to come. Thank you.

    Can't wait to get mine fixed from my trip to Badlands off road park in Indiana. Waiting on a new transfer case still. Ugh I'm ready for some more trials.

    There was some nasty diarrhea in there. Also some pretty gnarly ruts that I was happy to see the stocks go through. I guess one advantage of not having a pumpkin hanging down in the middle.

      Or the ultra low hanging transfer Case on the jeep wj. I personally clocked mine on the wj 8 degrees and was able gain an additional 3 in of ground clearance under it.

    Do you all have that super slick clay that I run into when visiting home in eastern KY (Ashland, KY across the river from Ironton, OH)? I don't have that where I live or the places I can wheel on the eastern side of the Appalachians. I cross over the mountains and wheel with my brothers and they're like "there's some snot up here....be careful, it's super slick". Sure enough, it's like driving on wet ice.

    • @FearlessTrailhawk
      @FearlessTrailhawk  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It can be. There are spots that have clay and others that don't. If it had been wet like the forecast had predicted i would not have done the final trail. That whole hill just gets too greasy.

    • @FearlessTrailhawk
      @FearlessTrailhawk  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sorry my dude, not being rude, just being honest, but i got more important things to worry about while recording trail video and making content. I put up a video this spring about how to use the different systems in 4Low. That is how i use the 4x4 systems.
      th-cam.com/video/sbQ0b02u-K8/w-d-xo.html
      FYI, 99% of the time i'm on a trail...i'm in 4Low, and in "Auto" mode. Only use the other modes for their specific obstacles. I'll use the locker on an as-needed basis as well, will turn it on for specific situations where i want to guarantee traction, and turn it right back off once i'm through.

    how many miles do you have on it now? looks like you travel a bit with it. curious what i should expect with my 2020 TH

    • @FearlessTrailhawk
      @FearlessTrailhawk  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      52k miles, 2.5 years. Your gas mileage will vary, i cannot speak to what you WILL get, only that if you mod it expect anywhere between 16 and 22 mpg. Your maintenance will vary. Some have to do lots, some have to do nothing. There are a few good Cherokee related forums and FaceBook groups out there with way more knowledgeable people than me...i'm just someone who drives and makes videos.

      @@FearlessTrailhawk I just replaced my passenger rear lower, the bushings were not centered after hitting something and who know when, I check them all the time know. I just installed the Dobinsons lift kit on top of my HS 1.5, loving it. Just need to get a bigger tire, currently on 245/70/17 BFG K02s.

    Are these the current state of the 'abandoned township roads' in Vinton County? I stopped reading up on them when I saw the State was trying to trick the commissioners into basically giving them up to turn into ATV trails.

    • @FearlessTrailhawk
      @FearlessTrailhawk  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is true, we have lost a few roads over the years. But there are still over a dozen active public easements in Vinton County. But most area vets advise going with others who know the trails as loners who are out 'exploring' and ending up on private property or abusing the trails is what has closed roads in the past. None of us what to see that again!

    • @ochiamu
      @ochiamu 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@FearlessTrailhawk Definitely not. I'd hate for you to loose one if the only places to wheel in the state.

    • @FearlessTrailhawk
      @FearlessTrailhawk  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Right on man! Soo many ppl just don't understand that! "But i just want to wheel...waawaaa"....yeah, so do the rest of us! The main clubs are always fielding complaints from non-members who just want a location on the map they can 'go on their own'. And i get yelled at my fair share for not giving locations away saying i'm being selfish. And i'm like "yep, i don't want you getting my home trails shut down!"

    • @FearlessTrailhawk

    Do the trailhawks have detachable sway bar? I thought they did, but having trouble confirming.

    • @FearlessTrailhawk
      @FearlessTrailhawk  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ummmm, no. Never have. Though, anything is detachable if you have the right tools i guess. You might be getting confused by the press from the new redesigned Grand Cherokee that will offer a new disconnect...

  • @joel.7372
    @joel.7372 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    The red Cherokee behind you is a stock Trailhawk? If it is I have the same and would love to try these trails.
    Also with those pod lights on the hood (I have similar setup, clamp mount to hood) do you notice hood vibration on highways (around 70mph)? Occasionally I think my hood is not latched correctly, seeing the vibration. I know these are lighter hoods than the older ones, but sometimes it's wierd.

    • @FearlessTrailhawk

    • @iyhnALEX
      @iyhnALEX 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I noticed this too. The hood on my 2019 KL Trailhawk looks like it's going to fly open whenever I drive at highway speeds. It's pretty startling how much it vibrates. Flimsy unreinforced sheet metal, perhaps? My only mod is the hazard sky 2" lift. No fancy lights, sliders or tires, so far.

    • @FearlessTrailhawk
      @FearlessTrailhawk  3 ปีที่แล้ว
