17mm socket
24mm wrench

Oil used: Rotella 15W-40 diesel motor oil T5
Pro-tip for cleaning the oil screen: use Dawn dishwashing detergent or regular clothes soap like Tide. Cleans waaaaay better than alcohol and cheaper and easier to use.
Also, the screen just catches large particles. The finer stuff is centrifuged into a sludge onto a ring behind the clutch pack. That needs to be periodically cleaned with a paper towel or coffee filter.
See instructions for Honda 70 engines for how-to.
I put the oil cooler on mine. I do not regret it. Helps amazingly to keep my engine cooler in trafic and going slower speeds.
Thank you for making this video. I just bought a hawk as my first motorcycle. Figured changing thr oil was pretty much like anything else, but i didn't know it just had a oil screen instead of a filter
Enjoy man this bikes are hilariously durable and simple
I’m really enjoying your videos my dude. I like the humor you throw in there too, the bugs bunny cup had me laughing
Thanks brother, I followed step-by-step and use the same oil. Great video.
your hawk content rocks dude thanks a bunch!
This did help out I recently body used one what was basically you don't have 15 mi on it in October. It was a quick buy everything's good with the title and all that I just didn't know much about working on the bike so I appreciate you breaking a few things down
Helpful! Thanks for the videos! 👍🏽👍🏽
I love your video,s.the best.very clear on how to.thanks
Could you go into a video on why you picked that oil
Hello friend, a question, how often is the valve adjustment done on a hawk enduro 250cc
How well is the T5 working? Only the T4 and T6 are certified for Jaso MA2.
Someone PLEASE tell me the thread pitch on the BOTTOM crankcase oil plug.
How much PSI you put in your front tire and rear tire if you can answer that I don’t have my manual for mine I lost it and I’d ride on the street more than dirt
Hello !
How can you help me with my hawk dlx 250 efi!
The sticker on the engine mentioned SAE-15W/40, THE Manual guide mentioned something else. But, calling the dealer, they would recommend 10W-30 or 10W-40.
10w40 or 15w40 would both work. oil analysis goes really deep when it comes to community discussion. but you and i have the same motor whether fuel injected or not. people use this shell rotella stuff because its actually really good stuff and mimics a wet-clutch oil very well.
in my personal experience ive never put anything other than 15w-40 shell rotella in my hawks. if you want the best possible stuff on the planet in your bike (for a few extra bucks). you may want to try 10W-40 GN4 honda brand oil. but again you'll get the same results from this shell rotella stuff. but i totally understand people being picky about oil since its basically the engines life blood.
i would say worry more that the amount you are putting in is correct. To summarize it, whether you go for the other motorcycle brand wet clutch oil or the shell rotella jugs; you will not notice any real ware and tear differences between your oil options.
These engines, like many others, have a centrifugal oil filter as well as the screen.
I’ve rode my motorcycle over 4,000 miles and I have not changed the oil in it once, I love using wet clutch atv oil as thick as it comes because the grip when cold is much higher on the clutch
However, I never knew it was an oil screen, now I can retrieve the half dipstick I broke off in the pan
well crap i been running 1 quart in my hawk for the last 2000 miles but when I hold bike up it looks perfect in the sight glass.
I've been looking everywhere but I cannot find a bugs Bunny cup for horsepower gains. Would I be okay without it?
You can do it without the cup, you run the risk of lack of horsepower though unfortunately 🤷
Did u change the oil in your bike the day you got it or did you leave the factory oil in until it needed changed ?
I changed the factory oil before running it
@@mototaco6603 thank you 🙏
Kitty! ❤️
the alcohol is just hydrogen peroxide right
replace the bottom plug with a quick release valve or one of those one bolts that comes in 2 pieces i forgot what it is called
i know exactly what you mean. excellent video idea. id just hate to break it if i case it on the bottom crankcase
@@mototaco6603 thanks for the reply ..just recently bought one 2 weeks ago .....got 115 "hawk miles" on it
@@mototaco6603if anything and the plug threads break you can always snip down and use a pan saver, there is not a torque limit on one of them suckers
3:35 where can i find the bugs bunny cup? i’m assuming that is essential? hopefully not too expensive😔🙃
Lmaooooo 🤣👌
Whats up with the oil? Making a vid?
You should never use diesel oil. It doesn't provide friction modifiers. Not sure why you're using it.
I just tighten it good an tight. Ngl...
