    I think the contrast brush might be useful just to give final touches to details that are almost done and to make them pop a little more without being too concerned with the general shape. Something like giving contrast to a displacement map maybe? idk. Great content man!

    Could you please help me with a problem? When I use smooth it doesnt work, it flatten my shape, when I watch the tutorials everybody can smooth. And I checkes all the settings. I can use alll the brushed normally. What could be the reason?

    I really feel like flatten brush doesn't work for me

    Thanks for the video, man :) I have a problem though. I don't know if you or anyone can help me, but I am going crazy here, because my flatten brush doesn't flat inwards, but outwards. So, instead of having a sphere with a cut section (like yours) I have a sphere with a big and circular plateau. I have checked all the settings and they all match yours. So I really don't get it :/ Thanks in advance!

      Check the normals, if they're reversed, the brush goes in reverse, also if you hold alt with any brush it will reverse the action.

      @@niemanickurwa I have the same problem, I am still new to Blender but I assume if face orientations shows as blue then it is correct? However, the scrape brush does exactly what I was after so that works.

      If you go to flatten brush's Brush setting and adjust Normal Radius slider it should help with the amount of elevation you need.

    Midway through my sculpt my smooth brush won’t work, all the other brushes work but not the smooth brush. Does anyone know how to fix this I can’t smooth anything.

      Maybe your strength is turned to zero or there is some setting in the smooth brush itself?

    Hi SirPinkBeard. I am having an issue. My object is a hollowed out mushroom (thus has an inner mesh and outer mesh). I am attempting to flatten/smooth the inside of the mesh, however the outside mesh is being pulled inward, which is very ugly. I do not want the outer mesh to be affected by the flattening tool applied to the inner mesh. Do you know how I can achieve this? Thanks.

    • @JD-59
      @JD-59 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Never mind. I found the smooth tool, which inflates the material somewhat to level the inner surface without affecting the outer mesh.

      Another way would be to use the mask brush to select the area you want to work on and then invert your selection with Ctrl + I. Then you'd only be able to work on the area you had selected

    How’d you get such a smooth sphere ;-; mine has like 10 times less vertices

    • @StudioKavod
      @StudioKavod  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The quad sphere has that many vertices when you go into sculpting

    how did u pop up that damn brush selection thingy at 1:04 ? its the evil keyboard shortcuts ppl expect us to just KNOW that kills me on these blender tutorial videos. and no amount of searching the web will ever tell you what the f*** they are. sorry i just get so annoyed when learning a program like this should have obvious af controls but instead nothing at all is even visible until u hit a magical key or tiny icon that you dont even know what is until u click on it.

      I used the spacebar. When you set up blender you can set the spacebar to tools or play animation. I chose tools. You can change that in preferences.

    • @3danonymous13
      @3danonymous13 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      by default, it's Shift + spacebar ^^

    I was trying to apply this tutorial to a joined group of objects and horribly failed for hours. Blender just refuses to "truly" join them into 1 object/mesh - they keep being present as single objects the one or other way. I gave up. Think I will start again with one single object - and carve the different shapes out of this one block.

    Using two brushes for 9 minutes without any talk about settings for those brushes is not really what I'd call using them. I was expecting, with 2 brushes in that much time, to get a more in depth overview of how insanely powerful those brushes can be depending on how they're configured. You're missing like a LOT of what can be done.
