  • This Blender sculpt tutorial will teach you, what brushes and settings to use to create awesome sculpts in Blender. I use these settings to create my character sculpts. I currently use Blender 2.9 but future releases shouldn't really change the way I sculpt in Blender.

    this is the best video of this type i've found so far, you actually give good examples of what you want to use the brushes for as opposed to just what they look like to use

    great breakdown. I've used Blender for a long time, but I still haven't become comfortable with sculpting so this helps a lot to give me some direction.

    9:08 actually "Ctrl + grab brush" is used to pull or push the mesh along the face that is being holded no matter from where you are looking at it and I believe it works the same for the snake brush but it does a little weird. I discover that testing the secondary function of every brush but it took a while to realize that it was doing that lol, Nice videos though, I'm retaking sculpting on blender since I left it a couple of months ago and your videos have been very helpful, Thanks :D

    The reason why you would start with a subdivided cube is to enable good face topology which will be so crucial when creating seams for uv maps at the later stages. I have been using it with quad remesher and it gives excellent results saving hours retopologizing by hand.

    • @Noggi_3D
      @Noggi_3D  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I agree, but if you use quad remesher, does it matter what topology the original mesh has?

    • @oswaldtehseal471
      @oswaldtehseal471 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes it does surprisingly. I did 2 similar head sculpts one using the isosphere and another using the subdivided cube. After sculpting the subdivided cube gave proper front facing loops that allows you to easily create seams for uv. The isosphere i have to go in manually recutting to create proper seams.

    Do you have a full body realistic character sculpting tutorial for Blender 2.9 ? I'd be happy to pay for one. I like the way you explain in such a simple and concise manner.

      I have a lot of topics I want to cover in the near future. A full body anatomy tutorial is definitely one of them. :)

    Can I just ask what are the empties in the middle for? Are they there only for your sense of direction?

    • @Noggi_3D
      @Noggi_3D  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They control my camera. The camera focuses on one of them, and the other one controls the depth of field. :)

    Random question but when your sculpting, can you change the colours of your object or can it only be grey or brown/red colour?

    • @Noggi_3D
      @Noggi_3D  ปีที่แล้ว

      You can use vertex painting to add colors. :)

    Hi, I love your guides. I just recently discovered blender, please tell me how to make a symmetrical use of the brush, like in this video? That is, the simultaneous use of the brush at two points. Sorry for my bad еnglish:)

    • @Noggi_3D
      @Noggi_3D  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can find the Symmetry setting in the Brush settings. I use X-Symmetry. :)
