  • Digital sculpting gets a lot more fun when you use Blender's adaptive sculpting tool, dynamic toplogy. It creates geometry out of thin air and this video covers all the tools and settings to make it work the way you want.

    I have no idea of sculpting, im a complete idiot when it comes to art.
    Basically I want to make simple games w ue4, i know everything there is from optimizing, creating materials/instances, visual debugging, lighting, organizing, etcetcetc,
    Blender for years Ive put off so much and finally this week got to make my own props and assigned materials to certain faces of a single object/combine objects/ export to ue4 and texture properly and optimize to the best possible.
    SCULPTING, like programming I know absolutely nothing about. You are a God send to explain sooo much in such great detail but not come off as a douche like most ppl do.
    Thank you soo much. Also because of you I'm getting a beginners Draw pad. 100x Thanks.

    I'm creating a VIDEO GAME, I just created over 200 full body characters from here to toe in blender.
    I just need to add fine detail like wrinkles, the puffiness under the eyes etc.
    What is the best method to use DYNTOPO or MULTI-RESOLUTION?
    But I DON'T want to go through the trouble of Retopologzing all 200 characters just so it could render.
    I just want a straightforward flat answer.

    • @StudioKavod
      @StudioKavod  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The easiest way would be to create those details in the normal map since you don't want to retop. But really either dynamic toplogy or multires would be fine for sculpting in that detail.

    • @spittingame4241
      @spittingame4241 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@StudioKavod thank you.
      I was panicking because I thought if I use Dyntopo or multi-resolution and start sculpting them, my characters would suffer when it was time to render and put them in-game but you have brought peace back to my valley.

    I haven't found answer on my question: how to do quad mesh on triangular mesh?

    • @okinawagaijin9344
      @okinawagaijin9344 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      There's an option in edit mode. Select your whole mesh (hit A), then hit F3 to open a search bar, type in Tris to Quads and an option will pop up in the list. Hit that. I'm not sure if it does its job well, you'll have to judge, but I know its there. I only use it to rotate wireframes by 45 degrees (using Poke faces on a subdivided plane, then tris to quads, then I got a better looking "gutter" or "Fence" when applying a wireframe modifier)

      How old is your computer? And how close are you to the model? If you're in relative detail, zoom out a bit. If you're in brush detail make your brush bigger and if you're in constant detail make the detail size bigger

    In zbrush dynamesh is better than blenders dyntopo. dyntopo was based in dynamesh. I am not and expert or anything but I have seen dynamesh in zbrush and it is better because you have more control over re-meshing and adding vertices. The controls are more fluid in my opinion too.

    So why dyntopo lags my laptop?

    • @StudioKavod
      @StudioKavod  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Dyntopo creates and removes geometry on the fly so if your processor isn't great then it's going to lag generating the geometry. That said you can limit the lag by making sure you don't create too many vertices in any location

    • @ArsyaUtomo
