    Bout damn time I find somebody who explains this stuff in good detail. I'm sitting here with my 42 pulled apart trying to understand what does what. Now I'm getting where the trade offs are with these trigger kits for glocks.
    Finally getting it

    This is what's really so nice about a Glock. The firing system is so simple, it lends itself well to customization. I like a trigger with a little creep in it... Slack, creep, wall, bang, and a short reset. I like all my Glocks triggers to be around 4lbs. Not to light, but easy to shoot. I don't do anything crazy with mine, I polish them, add a 3.5lb connector, a reduced power, 4.5lb Striker spring, and a reduced power safety plunger spring. I've done this to all 5 of my Glocks, and they all pull about the same weight, and have the same feel. The Gen 5 G19, and G44 are pretty much identical. The G43, 43X, and 48 all pull the same. The thing I noticed about the 43 series guns with identical parts, is there is almost no creep in the triggers compared to the 19 and 44. Anyway, cool video, it was entertaining, and educational.

    Just went an tried out the combat trigger I picked up last week. I swapped with another guy who had a 19 also. They were both glocks (mine is P80, but close) , they shot the same ammo, but they are not even close. Better trigger action and my accuracy improved. The guy wondered if something was wrong with his. So worth the money, not even a question. I lovvvvvvve that gun now. Thank you. Great meeting you too.

    I think I had an “Ah ha!” moment when you started talking about the sear/striker extension engagement. If you hold the trigger back while the slide is returning to battery (going forward), the sear catches the striker extension farther back. IOW your rearward pressure on the trigger keeps the striker from returning fully forward. When you allow the trigger to move forward to reset, it is under spring tension and that is why you are skipping the first part of the trigger pull. (Maybe that’s obvious to everyone else, but it was an important connection for me.)
    “Shadow banning” is the unspeakable concept...

    I bought 2 different LPKs for a 17 and a 26. My 17 has a super nice walled break and I love that but my 26 came with a different, less aggressive angled connector and its such a mushy rolling break and I absolute hate it. I've learned so much about the functionality of these masterpieces from your videos and it was enough for me to accept my triggers fate since its not exactly changeable without buying new parts!

    Love this channel, literally my favourite but I’m missing something… so glock want a minimum of 66% engagement of the sear. I assume that is in relation to the factory thickness of the cruciform kick up. But if I modify the thickness of the kick up as shown, aren’t I just reducing the total contact surface area available? Yes the striker sear is 100% engaged with the cruciform kick up, but the contact area has been drastically reduced. So is it really 100%?

  • @alexduke5402

    I have a question I've always wondered. Is the striker under spring tension? Like, when the gun it's loaded and inside my holster is the trigger bar on the striker holding it under spring tension? I understand your saying when you pull the take up out you're stacking the spring until break but with your finger off the trigger is the striker at rest?

    • @johnnyglocks
      @johnnyglocks  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      In a stock glock there is primarily contact but not a lot of tension so yes it is under tension. With my trigger system there's more tension because I'm taking pre travel out which moves the trigger bar backwards. Thereby putting it under more tension
