- Wow..!! Another absolutely amazingly presented consist from LSL and the SNG Locomotive Trust..
See the A4 loco head out of Crewe with the ECS working to Southall Loco Services in advance of the Steam Dreams Kings Cross to York charter on 02/03/24.
This is the first outing for LSL's freshly repainted MK1 steam coaching stock used for Saphos and Steam Dreams workings.
What an amazing sight this was - Hope you enjoy the video!
Thanks for watching.

So, so beautiful. Thank you, Mille grazie
Stunning
The true combination of majesty, beauty and power captured and personified in one of our greatest EVER steam locomotives.
To see this stunningly powerful "Power House" pulling such stunningly restored period coaching stock creates a Dream Train of "Yester Year". UK Heritage Railways at its very, very best.
Congratulations to all concerned and to DTP for this awesome video so we can all share in this moment - thank you so much ..... loved every minute !!!!! 💙 🚂
Thanks Dave.. SNGLT & LSL joint restoration of 4464 Bittern is to follow so another A4 to this standard likely 👌👍
That is absolutely stunning. Thanks for sharing
Absolutely beautiful loco love her in the Blue livery and the coaches in carmine and cream make the train, it bring back many happy memories 👏
*Probably the best Steam Engine ever built - IN THE WORLD !*
Took a trip up to Scotland with my Dad hauled by Sir Nigel G. Such a great memory. My Dad passed away 2015, but the memory of the trip stays with me. Beautiful engine
Great memories to have 🙏👍
No 7 looked impressive in blue. Great video, well done 🤓
FANTASTIC! HAD MY PHOTO TAKEN STOOD ON FOOTPLATE AT GROSMONT STATION N.Y.M.R 2022
A wonderful locomotive!
❤fabulous❤. Thanks 4 sharing.
Amazing Video 👍
Thanks, great video
Beatiuful video, greetings 🚂👍👋
Brilliant.I couldn't get to Crewe but saw it from my kitchen window a few miles down the road near Madeley
Pristine engine, pristine stock. A joy to see.
Excellent video as always 👍
Great video! I saw her at Kings Langley.
This livery era is very popular on my layout.
Another lovely video well done great camera work as usual I am really looking forward to seeing your next video I hope you get a nice video next time also when is your next video going to be on TH-cam bye for now Philip
The folk on platform 12 trying to get photos of it departing won't have got much...
Yes you have got to clear your injectors out😊
@@donottouchtheliverail2306or maybe draincocks? 🤔
Amazing what was the 57 doing
Fantastic video, awesome loco, thank you, saw it at the NYMR in wartime black, looked very different then! One question i have though! Do these steam engines have to completely bury themselves in a cloud of steam from the drain cocks when setting off? I have seen another one, I believe a Bulleid do the same at Carnforth. You look at some old videos when steam was king, most appear to set of with hardly a whiff of steam, what's changed? You chose the right location for the set off, because if I was a enthusiast on that platform, I would probably have been very disappointed.

Excellent video, many thanks for posting.
I could be wrong but it looks to me like none of the windows open anymore?
But then they must, otherwise how do you put your hand out to open them?
Even the top lights look like they are sealed shut?
But then these coaches are not aircon.
If this is the case then being sealed in like that means no more steam excursions for me!
well that will help ,then no more scenes like today if everyone takes that attitude ,whats the saying use it are loose it !
@@user-tr9kh9pe7w Yes I know, great shame isn't it?
The good old days of steam tours seem to be gone forever.
What with the astronomical cost, having to tow or be shoved by a box on the rear, unable to experience the experience by being shut in.
I appreciate that much of this is dictated by the powers that be, whether it be NR or the ORR, but unfortunately that is the way I feel, sorry. Maybe I'm old school but for me the pleasure and excitement of steam haulage has been removed by these restrictions.
Yes, I think they still lower to get at the external door handles, LSL have a diagonal bar to deter leaning out while in motion
And I'm sure you can still open the ventilators on Mk 1s, but as this is empty stock there's no passengers on board
My favourite steam locomotive. Only the day when he’s not running would be sadder than watching any of these beasts being yoiked along backwards in full steam, like they’ve lost a tug-o-war badly.
Bonus question, what happened to the blue HST Pullman? The coaches are mixed up and one of the power cars is lurking in the background.
There is a full Midland Pullman set on the opposite side of the depot. What you saw in this video are spare coaches and power cars 👍
I like that shot of sir Nigel Gresley the colas 56 & 1 of the new dmu/ emu. Sorry I'm not up to speed with the new rolling stock.😊
Very nice - but where are the wheel spats?!
Asking from a position of complete ignorance here, but why is it necessary to let off so much steam as the locomotive is moving off? Whatever the reason, it's a magnificent sight and reminds me of train journeys down from Leeds to Kings Cross when I was a child in the 50s. I can almost smell it from here! Great video.
To drain condensation from the cylinders, if the loco's just starting its journey
Still has that random Mk 2 air con FO
*Bring back Steam and ban Dirty Diesels !*
Unless my memory is at fault the custard bit of the BR blood and custard livery was more yellow than this -Hence custard. This looks more like a very pale cream. Or was this an LNER livery before my time?
I have a distant memory that the "custard" colour was officially known as "spilled milk."
I thought it best to let you know, your recent videos have been set to 30 fps in the video editor, but I see you record at 25 fps, which results in every fifth frame being repeated, and making it not play back as smoothly as it was recorded. I wonder if your editor might default to 30 fps after an update, so it might need changing to 25 fps manually afterwards.
Thanks Zanthera - I’ll get that addressed. 👍
I think I've found out why that has been happening - I've got new uploads live over the weekend which should all now be at 25fps.👍
Shame about the obligatory whiteout for departure. She certainly looks good though 👍👍👍👍
Nigela Gresley ?
That’s Carmine.
Not Maroon.
aka "Blood and Custard" ! :)
Blood and custard 🤔🤓
