So lovely hearing them *talk* to eachother...Pendennis's whistle reminded me of the Clangers. Looking and sounding great for 100 years young. Great capture.
Thank you very much! I love it two when they talk to each other!
Oh the joy of steam. Isn't Sir Nigel Gresley the most beautiful locomotive ever. Props to Pendennis 100th anniversary.
2:10 The GW whistle sounds like “The Clangers”
Thank you for watching!
Wow, she sure is beautiful, great video there Henry! Super captures! (Dave).
Thank you very much!
@@HenrysAdventures Your very welcome.
Wow, what a wonderful little video Henry!! We are all steam nerds in our family, and to see Pendennis Castle and Sir Nigel Gresley in the same little video was such a treat. If it hadn't been for so many people, these beautiful engines would, probably, have ended up in Barry scrapyard.😢 Thank you again.
You're welcome! Thank you very much for watching! :)
Absolutely joyous!
Well captured Henry.
Cheers,
Paul
Thank you very much!
Amazing compilation Henry, Enjoyed every part of it ❤
Thank you very much! :)
Fantastic video! What a beautiful locomotive she is! Happy 100th to Pendennis too! I've just seen this convoy through Coventry! Keep up the good work!
Thank you very much! I saw your video. Good work!
Thank you for filming! Loved seeing it all and hearing those whistles! ❤
You're welcome! Thank you for watching! Yes and exchange of whistles is always great! :)
Love that the two trains spoke to each other, often heard this as we walked to my grans house in Acton London, we passed and open space which I now know must have been allotments but all my brothers and I were interested in were the steam trains and whether the drivers would wave back to us, nearly all of them did no matter which way they were going we were absolutely thrilled to bits. Once again a thrilling video thanks Henry😊💖
You're welcome! Thank you for watching and thank you for sharing your memories of steam! :)
Hadn't realised 60007 was due and needed to catch the Taunton bound service that pulled in just seconds after 60007 did, so thank you for filling me in on what I missed!😃
Thank you for watching! Sorry to hear you missed 60007 but a shot time. I wasn't aware of this move but someone else mentioned it.
@@HenrysAdventures In honesty, I heard someone say "Now for the A4" as they were heading for the exit, and - being in the South West - I stopped to assure myself it wouldn't be a 'Streak' and they were talking about having to drive home along the A4 road... Nope, my head was right the first time!😅
Great video Henry. 2 great steam locos . Yes, as the yellow line, some people are completely stupid and selfish! 😡
Thank you very much! Yes, its really starting to annoy me now that people can't just stay behind it.
Wonderful my friend! Thank you for sharing this great video!❤💯 Have a beautiful week!
You're welcome! Thank you very much! :)
Great video of a special moment!! - Well done for negotiating the mini scrum!!
Thank you very much!
Great catches here Henry, looked like a beautiful day to go train watching!
Thank you very much! Yes, it was a great Spring day for steam!
Like Michael32A, I had to catch the same train to Taunton (15:30 departure from Paddington booked months before). Fortunately as you saw in my videp I did get a brief glimpse when we stopped at Didcot. This is a great video featuring both 4079 and gate crasher 60007 exchanging whistles..Lovely lighting on 4079 on the demo line at the railway centre.
Thank you for watching! I always love an exchange of whistles!
Amazing 👍
Thank you for watching! :)
Awesome video!
Thank you!
I grew up with steam in Cape Town, South Africa, and still, at the age of eighty years young, I thrill to the sound, smell and view of steam locomotives. But - how sad to see great steamers being towed by diesels! Great video, however!
Thank you for watching! I'd love to visit South Africa one day and see some of the steam locos. I've seen some which have returned to the UK and think they're great.
Why do't all locos have double chime whistles ? Fabulous sound.
They do sound good but I think it's nice that different locos have different whistles!
Beatiuful video, greetings from Asturias 🔝👍🚂
Thank you very much! :)
hey henry na da gratuliere i auch and wishe diesen nice zug alles goode zum 100 gebursday
Thank you!
Good video. 👍
Thank you! :)
Nice video of Sir Nigel Gresley. Do you know why the diesel was on the front rather than at the back? The person on the wrong side of the yellow line is the type who gets us railway photographers a bad name!
Thank you! I assume to save on coal and times with water stops ect. I agree, it's not hard but some people seem to think they're the exception.
Is Pendennis Castle, the loco that went to Australia?
Yes, she returned in 2000.
@@HenrysAdventures wasn’t she also at the empire exhibition at Wembley with Flying Scotsman?
@@Liam199Mcgrath Yes she was. They then met again in Australia.
Any reason 60007 was being dragged?
Testing ecs movement
@@33012Thattrainspotterok thanks. As long as she hasn’t failed! makes it look like she has
yea i wish i was there
Towed in light steam I understand. It would have been nice if the duff was on the rear.
@@HenrysAdventuresagreed. Seeing that the ELR announced the Legends of Steam gala (which is to feature 70000 & 60007 with 45690 + a DMU) last December, I’m hoping that Britannia will be fixed in time if she isn’t already so seeing 60007 like that made be worried that she had failed!
I much prefer the deep throated roar of a GW Castle compared to the weak chuff chuff of a Gresley A4
Thank you! I like them both, I'd love to see the Castle out on the main line but I can't see 4079 going main line now.
