- Filmed on 02/03/2024: A fantastic day at York Station, with the legendary LNER A4 Pacific 60007 ‘Sir Nigel Gresley’ making an absolutely brilliant appearance at York Station, along with 47895 (D1935) operating the Steam Dreams charter service from London Kings Cross.

Stunning!!
Spent many hours on York station in 1963 , when A4s were in everyday use and the new Deltics were just taking over . Many steam drivers wore safety goggles in those days …..Leeds Central was a separate station from Leeds City . We always tried to get an A3 hauled train for our journey back to Leeds , walked to Leeds City , then a Morecambe train home ………happy days . Cheers DaveH Carnforth
What a magnificent sight. Brought back a few memories from my trainspotting days in the 50's and my trips to Doncaster. Glad to see that there is still a great deal of interest so many years on.
And EVERYBODY jumped as the whistle was BLOWN!
Amazing! I was in York on Saturday but somehow this passed me by, though it was the one time I didn't bring my camera.
absolutely gorgeous
Great capture. I caught the Sir Nigel Gresley at Welwyn North
Great to see Sir Nigel out and about again
My chariot for my driving experience at the Great Central - Loughborough to Birstall & Belgrave return x 2 - Oct 30th 1993 - in this livery - I've got pics of me leaning out of the cab in orange boiler suit- snap off the shovel - awesome. 40th birthday present from my good lady - a surprise then and then she booked a cab experience at NYMR for my 69th at Grosmont as the loco returned to service after the big recent overhaul - in Black for a short period - It was delayed by a coupling rod issue at Grosmont shed during the lead up to it being back in steam - Motion lying in bits on the shed floor as we walked around earlier that weekend, but repaired and running for the special bookings, again a surprise on the Monday. Awesome seeing it back in Blue storming through Melton Mowbray on route to Peterborough running light during 2023. Bucket list experiences !!!
03 3 24, Saw it yesterday lineside passing through Stevenage during heavy rains - Livery appeared to be matt & gray - but still evoking same emotions 60+ years on - once a man - twice a boy ! ' Copped ' all 34 back in the day. Elusive 60024 Kingfisher appeared one Summer's evening unexpectedly travellinhg southbound after waiting so long for the last one allowing all A4s to be underlinned in my lan Allan Combined Volume complete with plastic cover -2/6d extra ! (12.5p). Where does the fuelling coal now come from ? Yorkshire coal unavailable, now only Yorkshire Tea for the Cab Crew.
Absolutely wonderful
Great video! I saw 60007 arriving at Kings Cross.
Nice one. I bet Kings Cross was rammed
Great to see SNG out and about again, well worth getting wet for, i was lucky enough to walk through SNG's tender and ride on the footplate for a few miles at NYMR last year, i have subscribed to you...Mal
Thank you Mal. You’re very lucky to ride on the footplate of SNG. Sounds like a fantastic time 👍
The blue beauty is at it again! Putting on a splendid show for her fans. I can just see her sitting there preening herself! ❤😂😂😂😂
Great done video :)
Thank you 👍
great video
Thanks!
Saw her today at Southall shed, I was on a train but it was cool
Nice one!
Spent time at Kings Cross in the fifties, love these engines so graceful, and powerful!
The example I remember most vividly is “Wild Swan” seen at Darlington circa 1956.
Diesels, electrics and continuous rails just don’t do it for me!
How did they turn it??
There’s a turntable at york
There’s a turntable at the back of the station in the yard. Unfortunately I was a bit late to the party to see it on the turntable
Is it a bit too gloss? Lovely sight.
4-6-4の綺麗な流線型はC53に似ていますね、日本の撮り鉄も此れくらい大人しければと思います。
