Not weird at all. Knowing that you are not alone and not the only person in the world suffering with anxiety would give you a certain level of comfort. The more you learn about yourself and anxiety itself, the more you will be in control of it. Highly recommend finding a group of people online or in your community to start talking and learning about anxiety. Talk therapy one on one is good too.

@Chris Whitty first I'm not gay. I have a high paying job and most importantly I don't smoke or drink. Maybe it's you who should get a life instead of lurking in someone's comment commenting nasty things instead of uplifting and motivating them because honestly your kind is one of the many reason why we have this health problem.

I'm so glad it helped! You definitely are not alone. It seems everyone has anxiety these days, to some extent. It's not all bad - it's what has kept us alive. But being in a chronic state of anxiety is taxing for the body and mind. It's good to have techniques like the one in this video that you can do easily at any time.

I've recently been experiencing the worst panic attacks and anxiety I've ever felt, to the point I took myself to the ER because I was worried I was having a heart attack. It's so healing to know there's people who can, want to, and are trained to help you, and to see other folks dealing with the same stuff. We feel so alone when we're in the middle of it, but grounding ourselves with others- even strangers- is probably the most helpful thing. Your comment also helped me, so thank you

This too shall pass...Don’t fight the anxiety, just allow it to work it’s way through. Embrace the moment as you become at peace with things. Now I want you to close your eyes and place your hands in front of you and lightly wiggle your fingers like you’re playing a piano. You are shedding this off as we speak. For a relaxed life without anxiety sit on a chair, back and spine as erect as possible, hands on your lap with palms upwards, close your eyes and do nothing. Be still without moving and observe your incoming--outgoing breath and body sensations for around 10-20 minutes. Be as still as possible. Plenty of thoughts will come but slowly negative thoughts will reduce. The mind is reprogrammed to reach equanimity. Do twice daily or even more-once before sleep or as per your convenience. I think I understand why this works, as someone with zero medical/psych training. It's a similar idea to the 333 method, where you ground yourself in reality. But in this one, you're so preoccupied with the sensation and focusing on breathing, your brain stops racing. This works for me a lot better than the 333, because it's hands-on and physical, and it's multitasking so I can't allocate as much brain-RAM to panicking.
I know this was four years ago, but thank you. You're still helping folks.

Riinnaa, Since it is a mind issue reach a state of equanimity where nothing disturbs you. For a relaxed life without anxiety sit on a chair, back and spine as erect as possible, hands on your lap with palms upwards, close your eyes and do nothing. Be still without moving and observe your incoming--outgoing breath and body sensations for around 10-20 minutes. Be as still as possible. Your breath is directly related to the mind causing anxiety. Plenty of thoughts will come but slowly negative thoughts will reduce. The mind is reprogrammed to reach equanimity. Do twice daily as per your convenience. Practice not over-reacting to any daily real life situations. Enjoy the above meditation without expectations and your life will transform. Make it a daily habit. Best wishes. This is so awesomely clever and effective, love it! We forget to breath when we feel anxious and the visual eye hand coordination helps slow down our breath quickly so it slows the body down which tell our minds things are okay, its safe. This could prevent hyperventilating and full blown panic attack! Always good to have these kind of tools to manage anxiety which is really a major public health issue right now during the pandemic. Thank you, Namaste

thank you so much. you have no idea how much this has helped me. i get anxiety attacks almost every day and i feel like i cant breathe and i have chest pain, a fast heartbeat, and cold sweats. i've had awful anxiety since i was very young (i'm still quite young and it's severe). this is the only thing that has helped me this much. this helps me so so much so i can calm down before it gets really bad so really thank you so much.

Thank you so much ma’am, I’ve been struggling with my anxiety lately and I’m a bit younger so people think I’m “faking it for attention” although I actually struggle with it. ❤️🙏🏼

I’ve struggled with anxiety since I was a child. I’m 30 years old and I still have my moments. You have nothing to be ashamed of and I don’t know you but I don’t believe you are “faking” anything. Those fears are very real to us when we have panic attacks. Stay strong and keep a good circle of friends, you will get through it and there are many of us out there that are supportive and understanding. I hope this helps.

Doing this made me tear up because it genuinely helped. I have suffered from crippling anxiety for 20+ years and am trying to come off of using benzo's to cope.
Needless to say this is an extremely difficult thing to do, and this exercise really pulled me out of a panic attack I was on the cusp of.

I'm an ex addict and ex alcoholic I have extreme anxiety and depression that comes and goes. Lately, anxiety has been really bad I want to believe it's mainly from bad dieting. I may also be getting these panic attacks after working out it's so weird. Either I'm dying or it's extreme anxiety. Maybe both
