Don't feel that bad, the reality is most of these cars would have been crushed a long time ago if they were anywhere else. They may have decayed but it's better then the alternative, and most can be either revived or live on in other cars.

It appears to be all chevys. While some viewers only see rusted junk they aren't realizing how many good parts and good cars are still in that junkyard. Yes many of them are too far gone to restore but each of them still have some good usable parts on them. It's sad how some people can't understand that even a badly rusted and dented car still has so much to offer in parts to help put other cars back on the road. Even something as mundane as bolts are worth money to a restorer if they are the correct ones they need to put their cars together and have if done right instead of using ones from the local hardware store which at work but won't look right.

I'm seeing lots of great parts and these guys are realistic on condition. Wish them the best. Some of the 'junk' can be made into resto wall hangings in a restaurant or whatever.

So did the prices for used cars and trucks. You mentioned Hyundai's and Toyota Camry's I must admit they don't really get my car nut juices going but even when their scrapped they still have value beacuse of salvageable parts. I have two old classic cars in my back yard under wraps that are in far better shape than all that rusty stuff in the salvage yard.
One is a '65 Galaxie 500 2 door hdtp with 352 V8 and Cruise-O-Matic trans. The Galaxie is a parts car. Real rough body but has some great parts I've used on my other Galaxie.
The other is a 1960 T Bird hdtp complete car with a 352 V8 original engine and 3 speed manual trans on the floor w/overdrive. Running gear still works good on both cars. T-Bird body is perfect and the chrome is all there and rust free. Body does need paint since someone in the past painted it with black lacquer over the original white paint (!) and of course after all these years it is cracking and peeling. It needs to have all the chrome removed and eggshell or sand blasted to bare metal, then repainted with black enamel and clear coat. Waiting for the funds to magically appear to do that.
It's all I can do at this point to keep my '65 Galaxie convertible in top condition. It has the original 390 V8 w/ Cruise-O-Matic trans and a total of 94,000 original miles on the car. I'm in the process of restoring the interior to original condition and have new seat covers on order and already have new carpet and pad.
      It never ends.

@jeffery hollenbeck. I'd be interested in the Dart unless you have something like 64-65 Malibu. Also looking for a 12 volt for 64-67 Malibu. I appreciate guys like these guys "saving" older cars but sometimes they just need to be parted out. I laugh when I see some of the prices that people want for rusty cars that won't be worth 1/3 of what it would take to restore them. 😉

Ask any old guy I'm 70,How about carburetors?,Ever saw engine fire, carbs wud flood, banged a many one w whatever,Pop bottle, jack handle,on cold days wind wud come thru doors, win glass,We had COLD WINTERS!. Cruise control,NOPE,ever drive 500 miles foot on accel?
Drum brakes, steering wheels impaled drivers,So other than nostalgia!??.

Hey friend. I see you've bought a junk yard, cool. I'm interested in a 1959 or a 1960 Chevy car body parts, maybe a decent frame.. Also I need parts for a 1968 Ford Galaxie 500 XL Fastback, the one with the hide away headlights. I also need the hood if it's not bent at the hinges, 67 too may work.. I'm on Facebook at CJSTREIKER. If you're not sure on those powerglide trans, look at the shifter, it'll read only 2 speed automatic. The others will read 1st 2nd and 3rd. Thank you.
