excited to do this sweather one day, currently have a lot of projects that im almost finishing and ones i want to do before the summer comes in a couple months but ill definitely have this be on my list for maybe spring wear!
I would recommend making this sweater according to the directions she gives for a size 10-12 US. I tried adding stitches to accommodate the size difference and it came out waaay to big. If you’re a 10/12 US, so it fie the size 6/8 UK.
Thank you!!!!! I love that it is quiet without musical background. I would love to knit this sweater. I hope you have a 3-ply version of this wool, because I learned in the Bible that 3-ply is stronger than 1.
Thank you so much. I think I'm finally going to knit my first sweater. Going out to buy the yarn now. Not only did you make it look easy and clear, but I love the simplicity and coziness of it. Thank you again. Your video was perfect.
This tutorial is really great. I am a new knitter and this gives me the courage to try with a sweater... I am trying to follow along and I got stuck at the decrease of the body. You work one decrease row and a purl row, then you start the secondo decrease row and then you say you just finished your decrease row and 3 stocking stich rows...how many rows did you actually work? ....and then ? Do you keep alternating one decrease and one purl row, or one decrease row and 3 stocking see rich rows? I tried both, but it's my first sweater try and I can't understand what's the right length.... I hope you or someone can help me with this. 😊 Thanks
I am also stuck there. I decided to prepare the sleeves and see if the length fit with the Super-Long decrease part of the body..let's see what happens.
I’m confused about this too. I counted the number of rows of the sleeve when the shaping started and it’s 24 so I assume the body shaping should also be the same, which works out to be 2 rows of casting off 4 stitches each 1 decrease row, 1 purl row 4 times of (1 decrease row, 3 rows of stocking stitch) 2 times of (1 decrease row and 1 purl row) Going to try this now. Hope it works!!
Ok!! I did it. It works alternating * 1 reduction and 3 stockinette rows*. It fits perfectly with the arms and it is also quite easy to sew. Just pay attention, it is SUPER oversize... I added 5 stitches to the body in order to have it a little bit bigger, but it's HUGE ...and very heavy. Good knit!
@@mariute1 so, is that one cast off 4 in knit, 1 cast off 4 in purl, then the decrease 2 row in knit followed by 3 ordinary stockinette rows starting from purl row, and then repeat from decrease 2 in knit row and then 3 stockinette stitch, 3 more times? Coz for my first 2 efforts I was literally just alternating the decrease 2 rows and the purling rows, I've only noticed recently on rewatching the video that she suddenly mentions '3 rows of stocking stitch'!!

Hey I love your tutorial! Startet mine just now and I wondered how much yarn I would have to buy on my next trip to the store! Looking forward to your answer :)
I have a silly question....so do I cut off the wool from the ball after I finish securing the stiches with a needle.?after I finish every part Also, In the end when join everything do you start with a new yarn ball?
Looks ridiculously easy to me! First tutorial I've seen using straight needles! The hardest thing seems to be the seaming at the end! Sod that, I think I'll just seam it in whip stitch on the wrong sides instead! (most shop bought sweaters have seams on the inside!) only other thing to say is, it would have been better to play a little incidental music instead of cutting out the sound when you went fast coz I found that disturbing! And ALSO, I hope you have PRINT OUT instructions on your website for this!
At 14:11 it’s a little confusing. Is the three rows of stocking stitch referring to the K decrease, purl, K decrease rows? And then you do K decrease row, P to end, K to end, P to end, x3?
I thought I was the only one confused. It's even more confusing for me because I enlarged the pattern slightly. Really waiting for a response too. Thank you for asking .
I think her wording was unfortunately a bit confusing, but she meant keep going with what you were already doing on those 3 previous rows (and her next instructions are the same, too). Which means: When you have just done a knit decrease row and decreased to 29 stitches... Purl 1 row. Do a knit decrease row,. Purl 1 row. Do a knit decrease row. Purl 1 row. Keep repeating, until you get to 19 stitches. Ensure you finish on a Purl row (so Purl 1 more row after you decreased on a knit row to get down to those 19 stitches). That's it. Done. Super simple!
Can you indicate the gauge for this project? Is the wool considered super bulky/ chunky? and what size are you knitting? Are there instructions for knitting other sizes? Thanks the tutorial is great -- love wool and the gang

Dear WOOLANDTHEGANG, thank you so much for this wonderful tutorial! I have one question: around 29:17 you talk about casting off in ribbing. Knit first stitch, purl second stitch, and then first stitch over second stitch and off the end. Then knit next stitch, take the first stitch over the second stitch and off the end again. Then you say you'll continue the entire row like that. Here I got confused, because I was wondering when the next purl stitch would be. Would the next then be purl stitch, take the first stitch over the second stitch and off the end again? And then start with the knit stitch again? Hopefully this makes sense, thank you so much in advance!

hello, i discovered this too, but i took notes throughout this video for help and here is the pattern (as described in the video)
body piece:
Long tail cast on 41 stitches
Rib stitch 6 rows
Stockinette stitch until desired length
(there is a measurement given but everyone’s body is different, i measured the length from where i want to start to my underarm)
Arm hole shaping (still on body piece)-
cast off 4 stitches, knit until end of the row
purl cast off 4 stitches, purl until end of the row
Now you should have 33 stitches, the next row is the first decrease row
K2, slip 2, knit slipped together, knit until last 4, k2tog, k2
Purl row
K2, slip 2, knit slipped together, knit until last 4, k2tog, k2
Keeping in mind that each decrease row removes 2 stitches, you repeat the last 3 rows until you have 19 stitches all together on the needle
There will be two body pieces (front and back) and two sleeves of course so both sections will need repeated
The sleeves:
19 stitch long tail cast on
6 rows rib stitch
*K2, 1 stitch bar increase, knit until last 2, 1 stitch bar increase, k2
Purl row
Knit row
Purl row
Repeat from the * until there are 35 stitches total on your needle
4 rows stockinette stitch
Shaping-
cast off 4 stitches, knit to end
purl cast off 4 stitches, purl to end
2 rows stockinette
1 decrease row followed by a purl (8 times)
Until 9 stitches remain
K1, left decrease, central decrease, right decrease, k1
purl row
This should be the sleeve done
Thread together sleeve, body piece, sleeve 2 and body piece two
neck:
17 stitches in 1 by 1 rib, p2tog, k2tog, left leaning decrease, right leaning purl decrease, 15 stitches in 1 by 1 rib, left leaning purl decrease, right leaning decrease, p1, k1, p1
(This part is around 27:10 in the video)
rib stitch 7 more rows
rib cast off
this might be wrong at parts, i was confused by the wording at times but i hope it can be a little helpful to someone else

Hi I’m confused after your final increase for 35 stitches then work 4 stocking stitch rows do I start raglan on 4th row which is a knit row
Great knitting a sweater thanks
Beautiful jumper. I was ready to commit to buy the kit, until I saw how you do the sizes. I am a UK 16, therefore the 14/16 will be too tight and the 18/20 will be way to big. Have you considered doing the patterns in bust size? After all that’s what we buy clothes to fit.
Hi there, thank you for your comments and suggestions. We'll pass on your thoughts to our design team 💗
If l make it with 60 stitches both back n front part how many stitches should leave after shaping or l should definitely follow ur instructions n leave 19 both parts
My dear friend,
Do you know how to knit topdown high neck sweater for five years old. If yes then kindly show me the tutorials instructions.
Thank you so much
God bless you
Great Tutorial! Did you use all three balls of Crazy Sexy Wool or did you only need two?
I believe you need 6. I made this with 200g balls of wool, the same as the crazy sexy wool and it took 6 balls.
@@ImYourFriendNotYours i made it with 100gr balls of yarn and i needed 11... Therefore I'd say the sweater is cool, super over size and VERY VERY VERY heavy..
please could you give me the number of stitches to do if i were to use smaller yarn? as well as all the other measurements. thanks
Do you happen to have a written pattern available for this please in different sizes?
Hey there! We have a size guide and when you purchase the kit you have all the sizes included in the pattern: www.woolandthegang.com/en/footer/knitting-tips/what-size-am-i
Do you have to do a rib stitch
How do you keep track of how many rows you knit? Is there an easy way, or should I continue to use my counter?
Dear WOOLANDTHEGANG, thank you so much for this wonderful tutorial! I have one question: around 29:17 you talk about casting off in ribbing. Knit first stitch, purl second stitch, and then first stitch over second stitch and off the end. Then knit next stitch, take the first stitch over the second stitch and off the end again. Then you say you'll continue the entire row like that.
Here I got confused, because I was wondering when the next purl stitch would be. Would the next then be purl stitch, take the first stitch over the second stitch and off the end again? And then start with the knit stitch again?
Hopefully this makes sense, thank you so much in advance!
exactly, you do purl, cast off, knit, cast off, purl, cast off, knit, cast off, purl...
@@mariyanaslavova888 Ah great, thank you so much for your answer!

@@woolandthegang please, your US size 2 is only a TINY UK size 6! Most average women over here are at least a size 14 and I'm a size 16! PLEASE can you work out how many extra stitches should I cast on for my size?? and do I decrease by more stitches, or does the decreasing and increasing stay the same?? I really need your help here, I've written the whole of your instructions down!
TIP: Hold the needles above your arms not below. Hope that helped. ❤️
