I would like you to know that i have been knitting off and on for at least 50 years and I watched this one video of yours and learned 3 new ways to do things that I always just made up a way to do it as i didnt know how…. You have cleared up so many little things for me. Thank you thank you thank you
LOVED this tutorial. Ur English is great and u r not verbose (which can b confusing). U r a very good teacher. I think I'll try chunky for first sweater hopefully in future as I'm disabled. Thanks.
Will you please make more knitting tutorials, some for a bit more advanced techniques? I absolutely loved your sweater haul and would love to see more things of the sort.
Finally I found well explained, well showed and well presented tutorial of how to knit a sweater!! And thank you for the small tips like how to connect yarn and things like that!! I have unfinished sweater, because I had no idea how to continue with the top. Thanks to you, I will be able to finish it finally!!! Thank you so much!! 💕❤️💐
Beginner knitter here. I found your instructions very clear and helpful. I bought and made this pattern because I really needed practice with purling, increasing, and consistency with tension. My sweater is finished and it isn't great, but I learned a lot. It turns out that my inconsistent tensioning is my biggest problem. Honestly, I am happy even though it isn't perfect. It will still be fine for the frigid desert mornings and evenings in the house. I will try making it again, better the next time, as it is a very comfortable sweater. Thank you ❤
I've just finished this sweater! It is my first ever sweater, too! Thank you so much for the written and video instructions. The video, especially, was super helpful. I've learnt a lot during this entire process and I'm so excited to start a new project ❤️🌟
Hi Ms. Kika. With climate change, I'm teaching myself along with this tutorial, how to knit a sweater. In the past years, It hardly got cold enough to put on a sweater during winter here in the Gulf of Mexico, now all has changed. The temp the past 2 winter, drop to around 35 f degrees. May need to buy a coat as well. Thank you for such a fun instructional upload. Patricia-South Padre Island, Texas
Hi there. Thank you for your email with the pattern. I started to follow you because you are the first person that made me understand how to do stuff. Wish you a great week. Anna Maria
Oh! And l am impressed about the tip on the prolonging the thread... You are such a wise knitting person! You save and make clean looking knitted sweaters! Admirable!
I’m part way through this sweater! I’m in the process of hand spinning yarn from a raw fleece I processed myself, from which I will eventually be knitting a sweater, but I’ve never knit a sweater before, so figured I should probably do at least one from commercial yarn before I dare use hand spun. This fit the bill perfectly!
I just finished mine and I LOVE IT! Thank you so much for the instructions and helpful video. I was worried the neck hole would be way too big, I ended up using 5mm needles to knit the neck ribbing and it tightened it up perfectly and it doesn't flay outward. It took me about 1 month to make. One helpful tip I learned is to leave the ends really long before cutting them, so you can use that tail to sew the pieces together instead of adding more yarn on.
I just finished my first sweater, too! The tutorial is very detailed and easy to follow, and I had so much fun knitting. My sweater turned out beautiful and cozy. Thank you very much from Ukraine!
Hello Kika! Greetings from the Philippines..I always enjoy your videos! I returned to knitting just last year 2021 inspired by your videos..my mother taught me knitting but I did not take it seriously. Now I believed I'm hooked to knitting!!! Thank you for the inspiration.
Hey Kika, I finally mustered up the courage to knit my first sweater, thanks to you :D I have just ordered Drops Wish in the colour sea-green. Can't wait to start this project!
New to your channel. Thank you for the pattern. I have always wanted to knit my own sweaters. You have given me the inspiration to give it a go. This style of sweater is great for a petite person. Your tutorial is easy to understand and I like the close up shots of the knitting stitches. Again thank you from Judy Lou in Indiana, USA.
I have just finished this sweater, although I screwed up the neck a bit but it still looks good and I am very proud of it! I adore the Drops yarn. Now off to raid your other tutorials for ideas of what to make next! 😊 P.s I have asked for your book for Christmas. Best wishes 😁
This is the lady that bought your book. I am trying to knit a sweater utilizing another book. I have read your book from cover to 29.lol! I haven't looked at the patterns. I am scrapping my sweater (got it down until the sleeves lol), but, I am going to try your instructions. I loved the pages in your book(paper feel) and most of all the heartfelt words. They touched me. Because of this very thing, I have a good feeling. I will take a photo of my/your sweater and share it with you. I even liked the size of your book. Ms. Hurt
I just started knitting 3 months ago and I've worked my way up to sweaters. I've done a few top down and im honestly scared to try some other patterns especially the ones that requires me to sew the pieces. Because of your videos and the resources you provide you've got me hooked on your videos and I'm now off to buy your book to show my support. I appreciate all the free resources you've provided ❤
Hi thank you for showing how to knit a simple jumper. It does help me with the ‘confusion’ of knitting the neckline! Now i am able to follow your instructions! 😊 keep up the great tutorials.
THANK YOU! I have learned so much. I never knew what knit in the back side was and how to eliminate the holes when adding on a stitch. This is the kind of thing that makes sweaters have a better finished look. You are wonderful. Ann, NC, US

I first have to finish a mosaic crochet blanket and then I'll start to knit the sweater following your video step by step. Thank you so much for sharing, and hello from France 🇫🇷, the district of Auvergne and its volcanos 💐
Hi! I like how you explained everything! In appearance, l thought it is not from the beginning, the entire story of knitting a sweater, yet, now l realize that all made sense and l understood it. It is what matters! I also noticed that each step had something different from all l make my sweaters! Yet, all l learned is that each knitting person has her own style and that is good and each new thing one finds out, can improve the style! So, thank you very much for your kind and very competent explanatory tutorial. I just loved listening and seeing it!
If you have interchangeable circular knitting needles, you could do as she suggests by putting different size needles on either side of the cable. The larger on the side you will knit with, and the smaller needle on the side you purl with. With the right side facing you flat, the larger needle would be on your left
This is amazing!! Thank you so much 😀 it turned out lovely 😊 suggestion for another video - stitching the pieces together, I’m struggling with this one 🤦♀️
Hi there!! Kika explaines nicely how to stitch the pieces together in her another video "how to knit the chunky cardigan"...i found it very well explained and showed in detail, i think it will work well for the brunch sweater...just going to do that this afternoon🤗👍🤞🧶😉

Ive just ordered the Drops Wish Wool on Etsy. I'm in New Zealand and am a beginner knitter so I'm excited to try this pattern thanks heaps for the video and pattern.
Hi Kika, just ordered beautiful WAK wool for Sunday Brunch sweater. Can't wait to receive the parcel and start knitting 😍. Thanks for this tutorial, love watching your videos :D
If you needed this In a larger size how would I adapt the pattern, am a 2x it only goes to a 1x. I love the way you make this so easy to learn. Your knit’s are gorgeous.
I'm still watching your tutorial, but I just want to say that after I changed to combined knitting style (when I purl, I loop the yarn clockwise instead of counterclockwise), my knit and purl stitches became pretty much the same size. When my wrists are hurting, I purl in the Portuguese knitting style. It's much faster to purl this way and the purl stitch matches my continental knit stitch. :) Now I must go back and finish watching your vid!
This sounds funny and hard to believe : the day after I wrote this, I received a parcel from my mother as a birthday present with yarn and knitting needles in it. I should knit more, now that I am getting older(64),that would be important for my hands. 😳 OK mom, you should know that from now 91 years of life experience 😘
This pattern was easy to follow and I loved the result! For fellow knitters, I had to essentially double the amount of increases in the arm to add width and length because the original pattern just did not suit my body (I made size M). I also referenced these videos for joining seams: th-cam.com/video/ObuZwHlmDCI/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/TYfCQmsb1iM/w-d-xo.html Happy knitting 🥰

@@Kutovakika I plan to knit for my grand daughter who, in the past, has always shown a preference for grey - so I ordered some grey marino wool. We're in Lockdown at present so it might take a while for my local shop to get back to their business, but I'll be happy when I receive it.
Hi Kika! I don't have instagram, but I want you to know that I just finished this sweater! Thank you so much for the tutorial and pattern. My first knitting-experience was the bernie you also did a tutorial on, and it turned out very well. Thank you for making me falling in love with knitting! I just received your book, so now I have to decide what to knit next ☺
Hi Kika, I know you are very busy, but would you do a video(or did you do one?) where you're showing your favorite knitting tools, needles and all that stuff. And what you are using for your different projects? I really like to watch your videos. I've learned a lot, get inspired and i'm always happy to see a new video:) Greetings and a happy holiday 🎄
I definitely miscalculated how much yarn I would need. I bought the "air" version of the yarn you used and still went solely based off the weight in grams. so instead of 4-5 skeins of 100g (140m) yarn, I bought 10 skeins of 50 gram (150m) yarn. my American brain got so confused! I didn't realize until after my purchase was finalized my mistake. maybe I can make a matching cardigan to go with my brunch sweater lol!
Thank you, Kika! I live in a very warm country. I am planning to knit this sweater without the sleeves, so I will have a vest... Any suggestions? Maybe another tutorial video? 😊
I'm so glad to hear that, I really tried to make it as easy to follow as possible while still going straight to action :) Can't wait to see what you knit!
Loved the video and teaching your awesome knitting skills. Is there anyway you could teach how to increase the pattern to larger sizes ? Knitting math and pattern schematics are not something in my skill sets yet.
I will try to do a video on that, good to know :) Yes so in the pattern it will say how many grams or meteres/ yards you use for the different sizes, so then depending on the weight of the ball of yarn (on the paper label it alwyas says how much it weighs and how many mentres/yards it is), so you then have to do a bit of math :)
First of all thank you for the pattern and video tutorial. I am shaping the neckline and there seems to be a discrepancy between the video and the written instructions. I’m not sure which to follow. After casting off 12 stitches the video shows you knitting 2 together then continuing to knit to the end of the row. The written instructions say to cast off 12 stitches and continue knitting to the end of the row. It seems the decrease begins on the purl (wrong) side. Kindly instruct which is correct. Thank you!
I got so confused reading the written pattern, so I watched the video again and again and got more confused because of the immediate decreases straight after the cast off … so is it best to cast off, then knit to the end of the row, then decrease on the next purl row ? @Lily Davies? Thanks
Ahhh I’m still working on my scrunchie ! I’ve also just realised I’m doing stitch on one row and pearl on every other row, not just pearl, bugger. But am happy with results so far. Will make two, just so I can see what the pearl stitch looks like on it’s own. Will hashtag to Instagram today.
I made the Sunday Brunch sweater and just loved it. In fact it turned out so well that I invested in really lovely yarn and made another one. Love your channel end enjoy all of your tips. I have a question. I would like to know the brand of the stitch holder you use. I have tried searching for a similar one but could not find one. Thanks so much for your excellent information.
I have some cool raglan and batwing retro 80’s patterns I picked up from my local opshop (thrift store) and need some help reading a pattern. Will you be covering how to read knitting patterns by any chance?
You are a wonderful teacher and speaker! I really love the sweater you are wearing on this video... can you tell me where you got the pattern and what yarn you used? 🙂

I really like to watch your videos. I've learned a lot, get inspired and i'm always happy to see a new video:)
Greetings and a happy holiday 🎄
Started yesterday afternoon, finished the back and am starting the front now. I have a lovely mixed chunky. Christmas jumpers starting now 😂
I definitely miscalculated how much yarn I would need.
Back from holidays, finally able to buy wool and needles. I hope to start
oh wauw joining the yarn like that is genious
Very nice sweater ! And quite easy to make it, thanks !
Thank you, Kika! I live in a very warm country. I am planning to knit this sweater without the sleeves, so I will have a vest... Any suggestions? Maybe another tutorial video? 😊
Drops air has been discontinued. Trying to find a substitute that won't pill and matches gauge is proving difficult...
Great sweater! I'm excited to knit one. ♡
Thank U so much for an excellent tutorial, everything is clearly shown, I can't wait to try to knit a sweater 😀 🤗 💖
I'm so glad to hear that, I really tried to make it as easy to follow as possible while still going straight to action :) Can't wait to see what you knit!
@@Kutovakika 🤗yes, it remains to buy wool and knitting needles😁💖
Loved the video and teaching your awesome knitting skills. Is there anyway you could teach how to increase the pattern to larger sizes ? Knitting math and pattern schematics are not something in my skill sets yet.
Love the tutorial and the yarn! Can’t wait to give it a go ❤️
Oh I'm so glad to hear you enjoyed it :)
Great tutorial, thank you. I like the twisted rib, I will use that on my next sweater. I love your videos and patterns.
Downloaded the pattern ( thank you! ) and ordered the yarn. So excited ooh!
That magic trick was brilliant 👍, I don’t understand knitting patterns can you do a video explaining. Also how to know how much yarn you need 😊
Love this sweater is this sweater the same as the cloud ☁️ sweater?
First of all thank you for the pattern and video tutorial. I am shaping the neckline and there seems to be a discrepancy between the video and the written instructions. I’m not sure which to follow. After casting off 12 stitches the video shows you knitting 2 together then continuing to knit to the end of the row. The written instructions say to cast off 12 stitches and continue knitting to the end of the row. It seems the decrease begins on the purl (wrong) side. Kindly instruct which is correct. Thank you!
I ended up following the written instructions and it worked fine.
@@lilydavies6218 thanks- I've just got to this part of the pattern myself and was a bit confused!
I got so confused reading the written pattern, so I watched the video again and again and got more confused because of the immediate decreases straight after the cast off … so is it best to cast off, then knit to the end of the row, then decrease on the next purl row ? @Lily Davies? Thanks
Heeey!! Are you wearing the sweater form the tutorial in another colour? And of yes please tell me the yarn 🥰🥰 Thank you!!
Ah I'll keep an eye out for it! :)) That's the magic of crafting, happy mistakes can lead to new discoveries :)
You're so creative! That's a good instruction.
I have some cool raglan and batwing retro 80’s patterns I picked up from my local opshop (thrift store) and need some help reading a pattern. Will you be covering how to read knitting patterns by any chance?
Ah yes good idea! Yes I can make a video explaining that for sure :))
Thank you for a lovely tutorial. Can we knit this in the Round using Circular needles. ?
Omg, I’m so excited to have found this video ❤️✨
Kika good morning I want to ask if it is possible for you to do a video just on decreasing for neck lines and arm holes PLEASE
You are a wonderful teacher and speaker! I really love the sweater you are wearing on this video... can you tell me where you got the pattern and what yarn you used? 🙂
This is amazing. Easy and it comes beautiful.
I'm getting the run around going from this video to the "pattern" which brings me back to this video.
