I thought they were manipulating portraits of Che Guevara in matrix binary code, but they didn’t say openly how sand babies were able to read nlp in a mechanical sense.
This is definitely a longer knitting video than I usually watch, but it is exactly what I've wanted to know! I hope to try this pattern. Thank you for teaching us and being so clear!
Where were you.. when I need you the most? WHY do I NOW understand GSR after seeing your video. Literally made me cry. Because it just made sense how you walked us through this, even if I had no idea what was going on, it just CLICKED. I’m so overwhelming happy
Wow! That's so nice to hear. Sometimes, it doesn't matter how many times you see something, you just have to find the teacher who will speak you langages.
Bonjour Claudia, vos explications sont toujours aussi claires, en ce qui me concerne je n'ai pas besoin de traduction, le modèle est simple et avec le patron it's very easy to understand ! Just want to say I come back to this video several times each day I’m knitting-it’s been a few weeks and I’m almost done with my first sweater. Thank you so much!
I think I can actually knit this sweater! Your tutorial was easy to follow and every step explained simply yet completely. I loved learning how to fix problems that may come up or avoid them all together, such as with the lifeline. That really has been what has stopped me from trying. If I made a mistake, I thought I'd have to start over and I just couldn't bear it. As a new knitter, I make more than my share of mistakes. Thank you. A thousand times, thank you!
Thank you so much for this. I did the Flax sweater watching a TH-camr from Britain step by step but I did a size with 6 inch positive ease which Andrea Moary says she likes in her sweaters . Way too much for me because I am a 44 bust and was like 50 wide across. Was way too big. It wore me lol. I did do a cotton tee this last summer and turned out well. Just practiced a vest with a cheap acrylic yarn to practice and it is ok but hate the fabric but knew it was more to learn without investing too much on a possible mistake. I need to learn to do a bit of decreasing in the sides so it doesn’t look like a tent. I am not new to knitting but fitted garments yes except can knit socks. I am learning to go down in size more than I thought. Yarn stretches too. Looking forward to knitting this with you. I am too intimidating to take a pattern read it and understand everything for a fitted sweater. Yay 😁 Judy
I understand what you're saying. The trend is to very oversized sweaters in the past years but it doesn't fit everyone's taste. You could look into Amy Herzog's custom fit patterns, it's let you choose all the details of the fit you want. amyherzogdesigns.com/
I’ve always wanted to learn how to knit a raglan sweater. This is exactly the detailed video I was looking for for so long. Thank you so much for walking us through it and explaining everything!🥲🥲
This is now my 5th times watching this video and I still can't wrap my head about the German Short Rows. Haha... But, I will not give up. I will keep watching this video until I feel comfortable enough to give this pattern a try. Thank you for making this video. And can I also say that I love the needles you're using? Have a wonderful rest of your day.
Something things seems weird and complicated until you actually try them. Just give it a go and follow along step by step, you'll see that it might be less difficult than you think.
I was disappointed to see that the pattern wasn't free. HOWEVER! Sometimes when things are free we don't value them as much as when we pay for them and paying for the pattern will hopefully motivate me to be tenacious and stick with it. Thank you for all your hard work in making this. Can I say I wish it was your job and it's all you did....?! Be our knitting teacher?! Haha. Wish my granny was still around but you are very close second. Thanks so so so much.
Thank you for the comment. If you haven't bought the pattern yet, watch the beginning of the video again, there's a promo code in the right hand corner to get the pattern for free thanks to my friends at Espace Tricot. Also, i'm glad to say that teaching knitting is actually my full time job. I have a french knitting channel as well as this one and I wrote a book on sock knitting (I'm hoping to get it published in English soon)
Thanks a lot for letting people to get this pattern for free!! What the most greatful thing is -your step by step explanation and really clear and smooth voice. Imagine - I will knit it and name it by your name and will blessing this project at any case of wearing that. Thanks again!!
I have been an exclusively scarf knitter and crocheter but I really want to make a sweater. this is exactly the type of sweater I was looking for! I read all the positive comments and this actually sounds doable for me - I will buy my first round needles and come back to this!!!
I am very excited to be knitting my first sweater! I will probably have watched different segments of your video a gazillion times but thank you for the clear explanations and video and tricks! ❤
I was just finishing the body of my Tolsta Tee and was looking all over for a way to cast off. I finally found your channel and followed your advice for a 1 x 1 rib cast off. It worked beautifully. I was very careful to keep my tension loose throughout the whole time and I'm very pleased with the result. Thank you so much.
I am absolutely loving the process of making this sweater. I have knit sweaters before but they have basically been "boxes" knit flat and then seamed, with very little shaping. This is my first top down, in the round, raglan sleeve sweater. There's a lot going on with it. But following the tutorial step by step has boosted my confidence and enjoyment! I am using a similar yarn for my first attempt, as the DROPS Air I ordered is coming from Denmark, but I can see myself making this sweater many times and making various kinds of alterations, such as striping and alternating colors for cuffs and collars. I am in love with this and am so happy to be making this sweater. Thank you!
@ I do have a thought. Is it possible to make a follow up video for addressing common mistakes and possible solutions? For example, when you discover three or four rows down that you missed an increase and now your stitch count is off? Having difficulty keeping track of the increases specially when they occur at different rates. Also too, giving some pointers on stitch marker placement and reading you knitting, specifically reading your increases. Just thoughts. Thanks again. Still loving this so much.
Thank you so much!! You helped me knit my first sweater and fall in love with knitting! My sister actually claimed this sweater after I finished it, because it was so soft and beautiful. Now working on my second!
This is just the video I needed! I have finally gotten the courage up to try knitting a sweater! I just ordered the yarn, but will practice with some scrap yard with your videos so I will be ready! I can't imagine how long it takes you to make these videos and edit them, it is so very much appreciated! Thank you thank you thank you 🙏🏻 😊❤
Once I have the money for the perfect yarn I will come back here to make my first proper sweater :) I'm looking forward to it, you seem such a good and clear teacher. Thank you for the thing you do😌
Thank you so much for this! ❤ I am a new knitter, and this tutorial took so much fear from attempting a wearable. German short rows, increases were demonstrated so well that I had no trouble following along. I watched the video twice before actually starting, and now I am knitting away. 🎉
Bonjour Claudia!! Merci Claudia!! Vos explications sont claires!! Bravo!!!👍👏❤🤗🌹
This is a great tutorial and enjoyable to watch. This would be so helpful for new garment knitters especially the short rows and compound raglan for a better fit.
Ok so I had to tear out a collar so many times but the lifeline tip is so helpful. I’ve been putting the project on ice but I’m not scared to start any more. Thank you!
Just wanted to thank you I was so scared to start short rows but knitting along with you it was easy peasy. I have only done top down for toddlers jumpers before this so have not yet started short rows. I love your tip to put a marker in that KFb at the increases I used to count +8 at the end of every row. So much quicker and I am sure of where I am with you describing the way each stitch should look. Thankyou again luv you to do another pattern pretty please. 💕🥂
Thank you so much for this tutorial and details. Please continue with more from A to Z knitting videos on making different items and Fair Isle techniques. I am a Continental Knitter. You are an excellent teacher.
I am getting ready to make the step to sweaters and found this video to be incredibly helpful and reassuring. Thank you for all the time you put into creating it, 😀
I’m just now splitting for the sleeves. I love this so much! I’m 61 years old and I’ve always wanted to be able to knit like this. You’re a gem. Thank you so much!!!
This looks fantastic I recently did my super Selene by Anna Ventzel in drops air it’s lovely wool. I now have some Cloud Tweed by lang yarn and I’m not keen on the pattern they have for a jumper and saw this! I’m totally going to use the pattern and you’re excellent video to follow it with this vibrant wool ❤❤ thank you Claudia 🎉
i don't have the time right now, so I saved this video, but ooooh do i wanna knit one of these RIGHT NOW! great video, i did learn some cool new things. thank you for making it and sharing!
What a wonderfull tutorial for beginners Clo, a lot of work for you. I love all the Espace Tricot patterns. I wish i had a video like this when i started knitting sweaters 15 yrs ago. My first sweater was an all over cable sweater, that was my first mistake😂. I ended up ripping it out a few years ago and knitting it correctly because it never really fit properly. I am now knitting an all over cable cardigan. There are so many different ways to knit sweaters now. I like the top down patterns as you can try them on as you go. I am going to make this sweater and watch your video as i go. Like knitting with a friend😊🥰🇨🇦Sharon.
Great video! Luv having you there with all the things to watch out for before I stuff it up instead of realising these things later and rip out, rip out. I am going to do my first GSRows collar so wish me luck but with you along side of me it will be so much easier!luv the life line idea. Keep these coming you are excellent at it. Thankyou again! 😍
Very cool, thank you for your intricate detailed “show and tell”!! ❤ Q: I guess I have some security settings and therefore can not see your link for the needles. Could you pls. let me know what they are, especially the tool you use for switching 😊. Thank you! Also, could you maybe do a tutorial for a worsted top down v-neck version? 😁 I’m in AB but shopped many time at Espace Tricot 💖
Done! Finished my first ever sweater in the round and neck down . Many thanks Clo I will definitely be buying you a coffee. Great video - I’ve referenced multiple times. Now on to my second sweater following you instructions but with a few adjustments to suit my figure. Again many thanks x Ps no idea how to load a pic 🤔
I think I finally found the right project and video instructions to make my 1st jumper!! Great tutorial, lots of clear info!! I think longer videos are necessary when doing a tutorial of this kind. When they are too short, I tend to skip these videos because I know there isn't all the information that I probably would need. Thank you so much!! Can I ask you why you switched from knitting in continental to English style when you started the German short rows? And also in other occasions. Do you have to switch hands or can you do the German short rows by holding the yarn in your left hand?
I'm glad you'll try it. I switch frequently from English to continental back to English on video tutorials so people can see what it looks like with both styles
@cloknits Thank you for taking the time to answer. I know you were showing both methods, but sometimes, while switching to continental, you would have the yarn on your right side, but I understand that between switching so many times to show us, a switching of hand can happen! Great tutorial!!!
Thank you Lady, your a wonderful Teacher,& I appreciate this tutorial so much, you made it look so easy. I noticed you were wearing a different colour, which was lovely too. Did you knit each one yarn ( AIR ). It certainly looks very classy, can we also use another yarn? Which yarns would you recommended., Thank you so much. It was a pleasure watching you. 🏴🇨🇦❤️💯
hey Claudia, thank you for this great tutorial 😍 ive been knitting this one for two days now and i was wondering how many rounds have you done before the splitting for body and sleeves part? thanks in advance, sending love🤍
I LOVE your video. My friend suggested it as I was trying to adapt a front/back pattern, knit from the bottom into a knit in the round pattern. As I really dislike seaming, this way is even better! Kinda like magic. I do have a question, though. When you started you said the cast on stitch count for the neck needs to go over your head. How would a turtle neck work? Do you just make it LONGER, or is there a different count? Sorry if this is a "duh" question, but I can imagine the neck going totally out of control.
I have a question about this sweater, and another one of what may be a different pattern. I sent my message to you on Ravelry (thought it might have been easiest to go there) but please let me know if you prefer me to ask it here. P.S. Went to some of your videos in French. I am doubly grateful that you share your generous command of both languages with us knitters. I am reminded of being at McGill in medical school and I would be talking to a classmate who spoke impeccable English and then she would turn to the person on her other side and speak in French like she had no knowledge of any other language. So impressive.
Thank you so much for the German Short Rows portion - it really helps visualize what is going on! Also, do you have specific favorites from Premier yarns? They don't seem to be available in the US.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience. That was really supportive of you. Ive been knitting for years but i got some good tips from you. Tell me, for a left handed knitter would you reverse the k2togs and ssk? Marguerite from Scotland
You're welcome! Yes I do think that you have to reverse the decreases but I'm not a pro at left handed knitting, so make sure you look at the result and check if your stitches are leaning the correct way.
Thank you! I will definitely be knitting along to this - it was very clear and helpful. Question: on the sleeve, your SSK decrease was slip 1 knit-wise and the 2nd purl-wise. Do you always do it like that? I do mine both knit-wise. But I can't remember if I learned that way or if my technique has evolved that way, and it's really wrong...
Claudia by any chance this sweater come in children sizes? I love your tutorial so clear and easy to follow.I’ve 4 grand daughter ranges from 5,10,12,14 . I would like to make them each a sweater. Thanks for sharing😊
Hi I am so sorry for being so ridiculous. I have ever only knitted a scarf and most basic beanie hat and now decided to knit a sweater for the love of my sweet niece haha but I have zerrooooo idea how to convert the size to one suitable for a 10 year old and how to follow along. Any tips?
If you want to knit a 10yo size, I would find a pattern that is meant for that size so it's not too complicated. I suggest you use the Flax Worsted by Tin Can Knits. And you can follow her instructions while watching the video to understand the actual techniques. She uses kfb, german short rows and it's a raglan so it's quite similar for the general construction.
I have two sets of needles I love to use. The black one with a silver cable are Lantern Moon and I have stainless tips with a red cable that are Chiaogoo.
Thank you for this fabulous tutorial. I’ve bought your pattern and am all set. With the gauge, am I right to assume this should be with the larger needles, essentially those you’ll use to knit the body? If so, if I need say 4mm to achieve gauge, do I still use smaller ones for the cuffs/ ribbing?
So I read the measurements wrong on the PDF and did a cast on for a larger size sweater. I did a cast on of 72 but it looks like I only need 68 for the smaller size. I just knitted my sweater neck line and I'm at the part where I'm about to switch to a smaller needle so I can knit the rest of the sweater. Is there a way to fix this? Or do i have to start over?
4 stitches is not that much. I world j'ai following that size for the short row shaping and then end the row 1-2 of the raglan increase when you have the number of stitches stated for the smaller size. Am I explaining clearly?
@@cloknits I think I follow it. I might start over because I did mess up the pattern in the neck. So if I didn't start over, I would continue using the short row shaping size for the original larger size, but once I get to the raglan where I am knitting in the round, I'd stop knitting a 4 stitches less than what I was supposed to? Thanks for all your help! I'm still learning to read size chart so that messed me up. My bust circumference was 37.5 inches when I measured it, so with 10-12 inches of ease I should have chosen the 49? but I accidentally chose the bust that is 58 inches at the end. the 55 inches would have been the same cast on of 72 but that's still to large for me. So I was gonna do the 51 inch one that has 68 cast on. I was just really confused choosing my size as this is my first sweater.
@@khari74 Yes I would start over in that case, because your positive ease will be way too much. 49 is a great size with still a good amount of positive ease.
Hi there love your channel. Have knitted this sweater love it although the neck is a bit high! Can I cast on say 20 more stitches on for the neck would that drop it then just increase until it come to my armpit like you advise? I love the rest of this pattern don’t want to search for anther pattern😢Thankyou in advance love your work❤
Yes you could cast on more stitches for a wider neckline. you probably will do less increase rows and maybe do a few plain rounds before splitting for the body.
Hi Clo, I have never knitted a top down jumper despite having knitted my first jumper at the age of 9 ( I wont divulge my age but I am retired! ) It has been on my bucket list for soooo long . Which pattern are you referring to through out your brilliant videos please. I really need my hand being held very tightly 🙂
you don't have to weave in ends (when you start a new ball of yarn) if you brush the ends of both yarns, wrap them around, wet your hands a little, rub them together and continue knitting...works with all woolly yarns
@@cloknits it does work, I've done it on my sweaters that I knitted in Drops Air I also have tried on some acrylic yarns and it works just fine if the yarn is a little bit fluffy ☺
I just bought the pattern :-) now, just need my yarn . So excited. My bust is 36, I want a sweatshirt type of fit. Your opinion would I choose size 2 ? Thx for your help and doing this awesome video for us new knitters. Truly appreciated. I'm so loving your moon needles. Again your opinion.....would 4 inch set be the best money purchase and usage over the 5 in needles?
The best way to know which size to choose is to measure your favorite sweatshirt and use choose the size the closest to that. As for the length of the needles. I find the 4" to be more versatile but some people prefer the 5" for a better hold.
@cloknits okay, perfect. Yes, I do like the 5-inch needles, but I want more bang for my buck. Plan on trying knitting hats and maybeeee hee hee even socks, so 4 inch is way to go then thx
When using lifelines, it always leaves a funky mark. Will that wash away during wash process? I have done swatch and ready to go after watching your beautiful tutorial many time's. Is it okay to use us 6 for neck? I have been seeing where most go down 2 needle sizes for neck, cuff, hem or should I do what designer states and use us 7 for neck. Asking to be sure plus waiting for a new 7 needle as mine sadly broke. (My fault grrr) I have this lantern moon interchangeable set and they are gorgeous in every way !! This will be my 1st GSR and think I will be fine due to your awesome tutorial!!! Can't thank you enough. Can't wait to begin
I did the pattern as stated for the needles, If you want the same look as the pattern pictures, you should go down the number of sizes the pattern recommends.
Hi Claudia Have you ever got to sleeve separation and a few more rounds, then changed your mind. Ripped it all and sized up or down? I'm just not sure. My sweater fits but, just not that sweatshirt loose, comfy fit that I was wanting. Will I be able to block this yarn a little larger? If yes, I will keep on working the body and move ahead. Thx for your opinion!
Yes I have! That's why we try it on. I might block to your liking but maybe not...If you aren't sure, you could block what you have by putting it on waste yarn.
@cloknits my raglan line measures 9 inches right now. I can stretch it out comfortably. So I will know in my future,,,,,, I think I will continue on and see what happens! So far, I'm enjoying this pattern thanks to your great tutorial . I like the yarn, first time using it. It's soft n squishy n light. Nice price point. I need to make short sleeves because of where I live so, hope that will look OK. Thanks for getting back to me!! Appreciate you
I did the neck ribbing in magic loop since I didn’t have a cord small enough. Are the short rows done the same way in magic loop as in the video? Thanks for the tutorial!
Changing a neckline is not necessarily easy. You could start with a bigger size and end your increases when you hit the number of stitches for your size. But maybe it's easier to find a raglan pattern that you love and come here to follow along with your own pattern.
@@cloknits Thanx! I decided to do the last thing you advise. I found a pattern with a neckline I like and along with your great tutorial it’s going great! 👍🏽
I'm new so I'm still trying to figure out if using a 6 instead of a 7 would be that much of a big difference. I guess I would have to knit a gauge to find out? I found an 8 at my local craft thrift store. I only have straight US 7 needles. I suppose I can't use those instead?
Unfortunately, you can't use straight needles for this. As for the difference with 6 or 7, if you have a 6 right now, make a swatch and you'll see if you actually need the 7s or not.
Hi Clo, thanks for all your excellent videos. I'm only knitting 8 weeks but it is addictive. I even took the leap and bought knit pro ginger interchangeable set. So I've been knitting cowls for dogs and lots of dishcloths, really enjoying myself, but I think I'm ready to take on a bigger project. I'm just about to order the yarn online, sadly no local shop which stocks Drops and want to ensure I order all the bits I need for the project. I only have 4inch tips with the ginger set, should I order the longer tips? Should I get DPNs? I have cables and stitch markers, needles, scissors tape measure etc. Anything else you would recommend?
4 inch tips is perfect and if you have long cords with your set you'll be able to do magic loop for the small circumference so no need for DPNs. Keep asking questions when you need help!
Hello I am knitting the warmup sweater. Same yarn same size needles. I did a swatch and the gauge was fine however, I cannot get the neck over my head. Too small. What am I doing wrong. My chest is 21 inches doubled 42. I decided to knit it for size 43 measurement. Thanks
Hi - I love this sweater and it’s only my 2nd sweater to knit. My gauge was correct; however, it seems the neck looks small (although it can stretch to fit over my head). I’m worried I’ll put hours into working this only for it not to be right. Will it look more normal once blocked, as did the gauge sample? It’s looking beautiful, just small. I’m making a size 2. Thank you.
Thank you so much for this informative video! I am starting onmy first sweater now and making a mess of it… What I don’t understand from the pattern is the asterisk. You say start from the * but what does that mean?
I’ve got a question 🙂I was looking at the patterns first page and just wanted to be sure, I need two 5mm needle pairs; one pair that’s 40 cm in total and a pair that’s 80cm in total + two 4.5 pairs; again one that is 40cm and one that is 80 cm. I’m asking so I’ll know what exactly to pick up at my local store. Thanks so much for the video.
It really depends on what method you are going to use for knitting small circumferences. If you use magic loop, you can buy long needles in 5 and 4.5mm. But if you'd rather not use magic loop than you'll have to buy 3 different lengths of needles, 1 16" for the collar in the smallest needles, 2 long one for the body and body ribbing, 2 very small ones for the sleeves and sleeve ribbing. I personally would go for magic loop and less needles as it can get pricy if you don't already own them.
Hi from Australia. I get this wrong sometimes so I am double checking before I click buy. 44” chest I like big jumpers 48” so I need 8 balls - correct?
Love your video waiting for my yarn to come in. I notice you use a tool to change your needles may I ask where you got it? Those little keys are a pain to get out all the time. Watched all your videos very very helpful with my colourwork. Thank you sooo much. ❤
I purchased my Lantern Moon tightening tool you suggested. To my surprise the cable and the ends also fits my Knitters Pride set. Very difficult to purchase another set of needles. Sooooooo happy because my eyes are not as good as they use to be to use the tee pin. Thank you so much.
@@chardennis9370 Yes the Lantern Moon are part of the same company as Knit Pride and KnitPro. I really hate the Knit Pride cables so I'm glad I get to use my tips with the Lantern moon cables now.
Claudia, my neck looks so small. Will it open up as I go?also my twisted rib ....the knit stitches are not defined. Yarn is thick n thin. Should I rip out, try again and loosen up my tension? I don't mind re-doing FYI. Just want a beautiful sweater :-) I'm learning still. Have come along way, but always learning.
The neck opening is small in the design but try it on to make sure. Slide some of your stitches on waste yarn if you need to. As for the ribbing, I'm not sure what you mean by "defined" but if you personally don't like the look, you could redo them in regular rib.
Yes, it will fit hurray Defined ....meaning on front, is it to look like a knit stitch or cross type stitch. First time at this new twisted stitch for neck. Took all apart as I wait for size 7 needle. Thought I had all my supplies. Oops Thx for your help
Hi Clo Knits, I have a question. I do not know what size I should go for. Because I don't want to make it and have it be to oversized. The sweater I measured came to be 130cm and that's with the positive ease so should I go 1 size smaller the 124cm size? Or go for the 130cm size. 😅 The positive ease part makes me not knit a sweater 😅 because putting so much time in to it to not fit... Makes me feel so scared
If you like your store night sweater at 130cm, you should knit the size that is 130cm since that is the finished measurement. You might not get the recommended positive ease stated in the pattern but that doesn't matter if you know you like the fit of other sweaters at that size.
Hi I am knitting the warm up sweater. I have finished the neck rib and cannot get it over my head. Obviously I have chosen the wrong size. I am using Drop Air Yarn. Needles given on pattern. My gauge was right on. The sweater I love measures 21 inches across double would be 42. I chose size 4 from the pattern. Help.
Is it possibly only the cast on that is too tight? You can start over and make sure to leave more space between the stitches you cast on. You can also use bigger needles for the cast on row.
What's your answer to the bonus question? Did you see them all?
4 That I was able to keep track of but I was also knitting at the time 🤣
I counted 5
I'd say 7 + the one from the intro (if the lighting didnt make the last one and the intro one look different)

@@cloknits - You're right. Okay, I will try this pattern once I'm done with my current WIP. Thank you for the encouragement. ;-)
There also are several videos on TH-cam that explain German Short Rows very well.
@@cloknitsis there still a code for the pattern?
@@reneerasmussen5837 Yes, it's "warmupclo"
The pattern is for free you just need to edit the coupon word. Enjoy!
It's going to be so much fun!
I am very excited to be knitting my first sweater! I will probably have watched different segments of your video a gazillion times but thank you for the clear explanations and video and tricks! ❤
That's what videos are for! You're welcome.
I'm glad you like the result, sometimes simpler is better!
Thank you for the clip. I've never been satisfied with my round collars. But this is a game changer. You ROCK!!👍❤🌟🌟🌟
I'm glad you found good info in there!
Thanks! I bought this pattern and am now using your video to knit this sweater.
That's great, let me know if you have any questions along the way.
Thank you!
Thank you so much for sharing your experience. A top down raglan is a perfect blank canvas unleash your creativity.
@jennagray4059 I like it! Thanks for the suggestion.
Thank you so much!! You helped me knit my first sweater and fall in love with knitting! My sister actually claimed this sweater after I finished it, because it was so soft and beautiful. Now working on my second!
Wow! That's wonderful to read. Thank you for the comment.
This is just the video I needed! I have finally gotten the courage up to try knitting a sweater! I just ordered the yarn, but will practice with some scrap yard with your videos so I will be ready! I can't imagine how long it takes you to make these videos and edit them, it is so very much appreciated! Thank you thank you thank you 🙏🏻 😊❤
You are welcome! Knowing it's helpful to so many makes the times spent so worth it.
Your explanation of German Short Rows is perfect!!

This is a great tutorial and enjoyable to watch. This would be so helpful for new garment knitters especially the short rows and compound raglan for a better fit.
I hope people that are venturing in garment making find it. It would have been helpful for me when I started for sure.
Your tutorial is great thank you. Knitting the first row flat makes joining much easier.
It does!

Thank you Sharon! It really is like knitting with someone. No everyone gets to take classes but youtube has taught me sooo much!
Great video! Luv having you there with all the things to watch out for before I stuff it up instead of realising these things later and rip out, rip out. Yay! Thank you!
You can absolutely use another yarn. As long as it's an worsted/aran weight and will give you a fabric you'll like at 16sts per 4"
hey Claudia, thank you for this great tutorial 😍 ive been knitting this one for two days now and i was wondering how many rounds have you done before the splitting for body and sleeves part? thanks in advance, sending love🤍
I split when I was done with the increases.
For a turtleneck, you would just knit it longer yes.
I'll go check on Ravelry for your question.
@@cloknits Thanks! I am xraymd on Ravelry if that helps.
Bonjour, votre vidéo est super. Dommage qu'elle soit en anglais. Je suis contente, cette méthode de raglan est beaucoup plus simple.

Hi, can you please demonstrate the popcorn stitch? I like how thorough you explain.
I'll add it to my to-do list!
@@cloknits

Thank you so much for the German Short Rows portion - it really helps visualize what is going on! Also, do you have specific favorites from Premier yarns? They don't seem to be available in the US.
I'm glad the short row were clear for you. I have tried and like the Stitch Please collection from Premier, I am generally partial to wool.
The most common way is to slip knitwise twice but I personally prefer how "slip knitwise, slip purlwise" look. It creates a flatter decrease IMO
Claudia by any chance this sweater come in children sizes? I love your tutorial so clear and easy to follow.I’ve 4 grand daughter ranges from 5,10,12,14 . I would like to make them each a sweater. Thanks for sharing😊
It doesn't but you could make them the Flax by TinCanKnits which is also a raglan construction.
May I ask...What interchangeable needles are you using? I noticed the cables do not 'kink' up as mine do now. TY...:)
Yes you are correct about the needles. You use the right needles to achieve the gauge of the body and then use smaller ones for the ribbing
Thank you for this video, I’m going to start my first sweater!!
Thanks ❤
Yay! Don't hesitate to ask questions along the way.
@@cloknits Thank you! Love your videos by the way!!!
So cute! Thank you soooo much ! ❤️❤️❤️

@@cloknits Thank you so much. x
you don't have to weave in ends (when you start a new ball of yarn) if you brush the ends of both yarns, wrap them around, wet your hands a little, rub them together and continue knitting...works with all woolly yarns
Spit splicing, it's my favorite way to join yarn but it won't work with this one since it has a cotton webbing.
@@cloknits it does work, I've done it on my sweaters that I knitted in Drops Air
I also have tried on some acrylic yarns and it works just fine if the yarn is a little bit fluffy ☺
Oh interesting, I would not have thought it worked. Thanks for the tip!
What is the free code for the warm up sweater? Please I can read it on the page description…thank you so much, for all your usefull tips!🌸🌸🌸💗💗💗
Hi, the code is "warmupclo" Thanks for watching!
(My fault grrr)
I have this lantern moon interchangeable set and they are gorgeous in every way !!
This will be my 1st GSR and think I will be fine due to your awesome tutorial!!! Can't thank you enough.
Can't wait to begin
I did the pattern as stated for the needles, If you want the same look as the pattern pictures, you should go down the number of sizes the pattern recommends.
OK, will do. Means ha ha more waiting until my new size 7 arrives. :-) don't rush the process JoAnn
Hi Claudia
Have you ever got to sleeve separation and a few more rounds, then changed your mind.
Yes the short rows are made the same way, you'll have to do a bit more shuffling your stitches around but it will work.
Thank you so much for this great tutorial! But…I really like to have a wider and deeper neckline. How do I approach that? Thanks in advance 🍀
Bonjour Clo
@@cloknits Thank youu
Thank you.
The neck is meant to be close fitting but if you aren't sure, you can always block the part you have before continuing.
@@cloknits thank you - good idea. I will block before proceeding. It really looks nice.

All sections of knitting that are going to be repeated multiple times in a row will be put between asterisks. Does it makes sense?

If you are aiming for a 48", it's in between size 3 and 4 so 6 balls should be enough, unless you want to make it longer.
Hello
I would like my raglan to be a little longer. Do I just continue to knit only ( no increases) ??
Thank you
Yes you can do that if the width of the yoke is good.
Love your video waiting for my yarn to come in. I notice you use a tool to change your needles may I ask where you got it? Those little keys are a pain to get out all the time. Watched all your videos very very helpful with my colourwork. Thank you sooo much. ❤
Those are the Lantern Moon tightening tools, I really like them because of the good lever and grip they have.
A T-pin works well to switch needles or cords
I purchased my Lantern Moon tightening tool you suggested. To my surprise the cable and the ends also fits my Knitters Pride set. Very difficult to purchase another set of needles. Sooooooo happy because my eyes are not as good as they use to be to use the tee pin. Thank you so much.
@@chardennis9370 Yes the Lantern Moon are part of the same company as Knit Pride and KnitPro. I really hate the Knit Pride cables so I'm glad I get to use my tips with the Lantern moon cables now.
THANK YOU SO MUCH! THIS IS AWESOME!!!!
Claudia, my neck looks so small. Will it open up as I go?also my twisted rib ....the knit stitches are not defined. Yarn is thick n thin. Should I rip out, try again and loosen up my tension?
I don't mind re-doing FYI. Just want a beautiful sweater :-)
I'm learning still. Have come along way, but always learning.
The neck opening is small in the design but try it on to make sure. Slide some of your stitches on waste yarn if you need to. As for the ribbing, I'm not sure what you mean by "defined" but if you personally don't like the look, you could redo them in regular rib.
Yes, it will fit hurray
Defined ....meaning on front, is it to look like a knit stitch or cross type stitch. First time at this new twisted stitch for neck.
Took all apart as I wait for size 7 needle. Thought I had all my supplies. Oops
Thx for your help
Does the code not work anymore? I downloaded it before but can't find it anymore sadly...
It should still work yes!
@cloknits thank you so much ❤️
Hi I am knitting the warm up sweater.
