Let provisional patents have a ten year expiration rather than just one year.

"Patents are for the weak" He's absolutely right.

Would you be interested in some cool patents and photos? You wall could use a few more.

Thank you for your comment! At the moment, I already have a stockpile of additional patents which I found to be "cool" and interesting for my wall, which I have not yet put up. Thank you for the offer though!

Trade secrets only work for IP which is embedded and non-trivial to reverse engineer, which might not apply to your situation.

what I hope for from a change: 1. significant reduction of patents given for trivial 'inventions' 2. limiting the opportunities for patent trolls 3. less bureaucracy, much faster, cheaper process to obtain a patent

    I have filed patents
To my experience , America is a very risky place to do business, with a legal system that benefits the very rich/big companies. There is also a lottery factor, where individuals are awarded silly amounts of money for being stupid, at the cost of companies.

As I understand, keeping trade secrets is mandatory where national security is concerned.

Absolutely right. On the flip side, government contracts oftentimes will require that a patent application is filed.

Patents were designed to make money for patent attorneys. If you wish to protect your innovations, use trade secrets.

Everything for me... Nothing for thee... The foundation of the conservative mind... Without hypocrisy, they wouldn't have any values at all...
If you get rid of patents, the small inventor becomes chum to the corporation as they roll in like tanks and simply take it for themselves... A small business trying to grow needs a certain amount of time to get on their feet... A corporation has zero regard for honest work and innovative ideas... They simple troll around the edges waiting for others to create something... Corporations are excellent machines for supply chains and organizational acumen, but they should NOT be rewarded for simply owning an army of lawyers...
