I am going to be very honest, (and I am legitimately serious with this statement) I actually don’t hate “Gaithers Pond”. In fact I think it’s one of the better Christian cartoons (besides Veggietales of course) Yes the CGI is HORRIFIC, most of the songs are not needed (in the first cartoon, I have not watched any of the other episodes), and the writing could’ve been less on the nose. But I actually don’t mind the characters that much (I actually like how the main protagonist Gaither is kind of a d%€k, instead of being pitch perfect), at its core is a good message, and it didn’t feel overly preachy.

This movie actually wasn’t bad compared to Gaither’s other works. The animation quality has somewhat improved, the jokes landed nicely, and I actually grown to kinda like the humanoid robot character.
I can't get over the fact that a movie that has orphan child labor in it, instead focuses on christmas and almost completely ignores the child slavery in it. Like, what? I thought for sure they would get adopted or somthing but nah, they just gotta keep being miserable lol.
Similar to how Nickelodeon and O Entertainment did with Jimmy Neutron and Barnyard, starting as theatrically released pilot episode movies before becoming shows

i have literally been trying to find this film FOREVER! Every time i would try to ask someone about this movie, nobody knew what i was talking about. But I distinctly remembered seeing the trailer for the movie for the first time on a Little Nemo DVD in the back of my moms sequoia when i was 4 years old. I am 18 now. When i saw the thumbnail for this video i audibly gasped and all the memories came flooding back. I’m sure i sound so over dramatic but i even got a little bit emotional because of how nostalgic this movie is for me. It’s also just nice to know that this movie actually exists and that i’m not crazy lol! Great video btw!♡︎
Compared to all the other stuff we’ve watched on this channel this, while definitely violating copyright laws, this isn’t that bad some of the jokes actually got a real laugh mostly from silver guy
Something I actually quite like about this movie is how it has more moral lessons to it too, one that's actually pretty important "Everyone is imperfect, yet we can always work together to make something better" I like how they used the robots as an example to it when making a ship. It pretty much explains how working as a community can help solve big problems, or create a large project together, kind of like how you can see in some companies.

So I was mostly listening to this rather than watching it while working, and while I'm not gonna pretend most of these songs are very good, a couple are kind of good, and the christian rock one is a legit banger and I'm not even particularly religious anymore. It's practically an ear worm, I'm surprised I never heard it on the christian rock christmas radio stuff my folks put on. It has a good sound to it, which is WILD considering what we're watching, which looks like a fever dream.
Maybe I just have low standards, but this doesn't seem that bad of a movie. I mean, it's early CGI, so things definitely look rough. But at the same time, some of the jokes were funny, some of the songs were (regrettably) catchy, and it honestly wasn't even that preachy. Like, the Christian messaging wasn't even that in-your-face. Granted, they become believers the second they learn about Jesus, but then outside of it taking place on Christmas, they don't even mention Christianity. They go back to save the day because "they understand the true meaning of Christmas" and because the villain was gonna kidnap and enslave orphans. That said, the biggest problem by far is how the villain is coded to be Jewish, with his villain song even following the tune of a famous Jewish folk song. If it weren't for this massive problem, I could see myself liking it as a kid in a similar manner to Veggietales. But then, I'd definitely choose Veggietales over this if given the choice at that age.
