I would agree with this. Oh sure, Firebombs would *eventually* cause holes in an enemy ship, but competent crews can easily snuff out those flames. Alternatively, just shoot Cannonballs on their ship. However, if you are spawn-camping them until they sink and they have Firebombs in their barrels, set their ship aflame. Will damage them over time when they spawn in, sometimes.
I know, fire bombs are really good when i board someone, but i see lot of new players using firebombs instead of normal cannon balls becouse they think its doing more holes to ship and also burn it

There aren't any new players. The only ones left are the ones with 2k hours. We new players don't stand a chance of learning this game because there are too many very poor design choices coupled with a very toxic community
I switch load outs depending on what situation that I know I'm getting into. Every time I'm with newer players and they are getting upset and thinking of quitting because someone is attacking us and our ship is sinking, I push them to try to fight off the enemy. Losing 3 pieces of treasure is nothing because you hardly did any work. I would also like to point out that you should know your ship's abilities as well as the enemy's ships abilities. Played right, equal size ships shouldn't catch catch other. I've taken sloops and had bigger ships follow me full wind only to do an anchor turn and watch them fly by or weave in and out at places like sea dog rock to remind the bigger ship how maneuverable I am. I've also taken galleons at full wind through narrow rock gaps just to freak out the enemy that's chasing. Most ships that chase you have no plan on how to corner you and end up just following you trying to get close enough for cannons and to board your vessel.
I'm at about 250 hours in the game and I sure expected to be a god at the game by now when I started. I'm pretty good with most things but I still need to learn a lot. I also play almost exclusively solo so that's fun.

Practice is honestly the must do tip in any game while u might be good without practice but can u beat someone whos practiced for hours or even months, And while some players need more practice and some need less. Practice is the to go tip for every game and will absolutely change how u play for the better as u get a good grasp on what does what and how things function in the game and how u can use that to your advantage, While practicing u can even make clips to correct errors u made during the gameplay(Something that pro league teams in other games also do)
Needless to say dont just practice once and then never do it again, That will only result in you getting rusty, Taking u back to the stages of before u practiced and this is something I myself experienced after not practicing or playing for large amounts of time
Eh, what good is practice if the players you fight are always better than you? Cannons are impossible to aim cause you can't tell when the ball will curve left or right until you shoot once. You spend so much time missing trying to find the right angle to land a hit but when you do you're out of balls so you get more only to repeat the cycle. Then when you fight a player the engagement lasts a minute or less due to them being better and all you learn is "ok I'm trash and they're better" I say stick to PVE.

I did the opposite of practice. Since I started all the way until yesterday when I became pirate Legend I ran from fights. If a player comes towards me I point my ship the other way. Cause I know everyone is better than me. The only thing I learn is "I suck" and got to deal with toxic reapers "lol so bad! Kys" or "this is my game. My ship isn't the one that sunk". So I just don't bother with this games PvP. I still avoid PvP cause I always lose whenever I'm caught unprepared or they catch up to me. I will ALWAYS lose. So I always run. I can't get experience if I'm dead the second I get in a fight. You die once you're screwed. It takes a million years to get back to your ship when you leave the ferry and when you finally leave the black screen you're dead. I just started scuttling after dying cause I know there's no point in trying. I'll die again and again thanks to the shitty loading screen time and my inability to win a fight. I hate this games PvP. Toxic players and zero chances to improve.
I'm the exact same way...need a partner?
@@michaelslack4937 I could always use more crew
@@keybladegames_real Ahoy! Thank you sir for the reply...and I could always use more help lol! So lets you and I get better together...I don't like losing.
Please forgive what's coming...
My biggest problem is I can't communicate (No Mic...yet) with anyone. Every time I text I run into something and sink...no Bueno. Stopped doing this. So when I meet a cool crew...you get the idea.
I really want the portrait of Merrick before I lose my chance. I work a LOT! What game time I've had was spent being either spawn camped or Rared! I'm still somewhat new Jan 22 Season XI (random play tho) I also must admit that I am in my mid 60's fixin to retire but still learning the gaming tech as I go. Last time (ever) touching an Xbox controller was when Legend of Zelda first came out, then never gamed again till SoT Jan 2022. In game (I use Xbox game pass) I am OG PRIVATEER, can we exchange more info that way? Message maybe? If so I will send my email. Don't let my age fool you, I'm not stupid nor ignorant to tech, just never used this type of tech this deeply till recently is all...I learn fast!
If we should ever meet upon the waves my ship is a sloop, The RAVEN...all black Eternal Freedom ship set w/ really bright Season XI Community day flag lol. I am in Roswell NM (we use Mountain Time btw) I open at work all this week, get off early afternoon, Wed I will be in game at 3pm ish my time...then I am off Fri and Sat will try to be in game at 3pm again on those days as well. (Barring something coming up) What would work for you? Before I continue please accept my apologies for this novel I seem to be writing (sheesh) was not intended but I kinda wanted to introduce myself.
I most certainly do look forward to gaining booty (LOL!) and honing our skills but most importantly developing lasting relationships through comradery...and victory!
I look forward to hearing from you sir...Michael ☠
@@michaelslack4937 I cant help but get a feeling the name Raven comes from an attraction to raven from teen titans....
But anyway I prefer to be on my own ship, The Reaper Leviathan.
Also I did the commendations in one go, I dunno how I managed it considering I had no idea what to do and spent most of my time on my sloop waiting for something to happen and I got all commendations done....somehow. No one tried to sink me, they did the adventure and I had no idea how to do anything. I had no idea where to get the flame of souls. But I had no interest in doing that stupid adventure a third time. I got in a second time but it was about over and judging by what I heard on their mics they had no idea what to do and didnt seem to notice you had to talk to Merrick in order to complete it. The last time I did the cutscene I had to bitch slap a pirate playing a stupid some on a banjo just to get him to shut up.
I dont want to risk dealing with tryhard reapers wanting to kill everyone and I already have what I need. But if you must we could do it. But I play on xbox. So i'll need a microsoft name and I dont need your email. Im ok with you talking in text. It doesnt bug me
@@keybladegames_real lol ok. I'm not good enough to text and play...yet. But I will do my best. I would prefer to talk over text but oh well...
The RAVEN bit comes from my Anglo Saxon/Viking heritage...I'm 66 I don't do teenager anything. Good on you for the completion...I tried again last night and got smoked like a blunt, it is what it is right?!
It is starting piss me off a lil tho as I want that damned Merrick Portrait! Lol!
So this Wed I will be in game about 3ish in the afternoon Mountain time USA. My current game goals are Gold naturally, commendations, and unlocking stuff, and eventually Pirate Legend only to unlock more stuff.. I have no desire to be a sweat lord, or Reaper just me a humble Privateer with a crap load of Gold of course lol.
I look forward to sailing with you, may your day be splendid sir...Michael.
OG PRIVATEER
2:05 bro the game chat 😂
Which blunderbuss is that your using
Another helpful tip is that if you jump while pulling out your weapon, it equips faster
I am very good at stearing, if that something to be proud of i just got shy 100h in the game. Lucky i met people better with cannons and boarding than I... But i am great at making alliances :D works more than 50% of times, had one session there few people just started shooting so my bud shot them with cannons into submission and we had 4 ship alliance at one point!
Very Beautiful!
Could do what I do also just hide out in the pita of fire volcanos and he'll while making a shit ton of money of ashen chests and skulls
thank you
Why do you throw the water out from the top deck when there's a window next to the stairs?
So when you're talking about play style with guns I need an smg or assault rifle of some kind
Good video
I would like to see content what isnt tips, guides and other Basic things on your channel, Yes i understand Its better to do this content for content creators but if you can, I would be grateful
(But still if i dont need this things i really enjoying what SOC doing
i came when u said use blunedrbombs, cus i use them all the time XD
kraken is the best food because it hasa the smallest size meaning it covers the least amount of your screen when eating compared to the other 100% heal foods
how do you aim in and shoot a blunder bust so quickly because when i aim in i can’t shoot for a solid 1-2 seconds
Another thing, watch for boats with flags like, Reaper flags or Alliance flags, it will make life easier, and, curses are just cosmetics, don't be scared of people with them.
Browsed tip number five and I got a DoorDash ad😂😂
"Listen to the sound of someone getting out of the water." Listens... hears nothing. Turns it up and plays again. Nothing. Puts on headphones, listens again. Nothing.
Can u make a video of tips and tricks for playing by yourself
do you have any tips for controller players
Can you make a vid abt quick scope
Thanks
Can you do tips for people that started playing
Another tip, Grubs, leeches, bait burn faster than bananas so they're amazing for starting fires
!!
Can a PvP player explain why no one played Arena? Seems like that was the place to go for people who want constant PvP. Why did people choose to chase ships that don't wanna fight over that game mode?
Because it makes them feel like they have a huge epeen. Its not as fun to fight others looking for a fight that will fight back with competence. Have to focus on those who clearly arent good at pvp and just want to dig up treasure.
The banana trick is peak
What is the music at 0:30?
Tried to hear the splash sound in game. Failed miserably every time. Now on youtube trying to understand. Can't hear the splash...
I’ve been trying pvp via waking flame and I don’t even have a day played but I keep getting matched with pirate legends and I feel completely outmatched
the only way to improve is to get used like a cucumber on an OF page, you’ll get better and pick things up along the way - it’s just tedious
Captaincy update... thoughts?
I thought you had like 400K subscriber but no what how do you have that not many subscribers wut (sub since 2020) (sorry I'm french my english is weird)
thanks :)))
The ship layout is so annoying on the brig cuz every month they change up the barrels by the map
The audio sound for your audio examples is UBER quiet...
Otherwise great tips.
“Don’t worry if you sink” me: I am a worthless human being
"best tip is at the end"
"Cook food to make it gooder" lmao
I literally can’t do the last tip because my crew mates seem to think it is better to troll and kill me with the blunderbombs 😐
You are beautiful and ur work is amazing thanks for the tips it helps alot for a noob like me haha
If we loose my teammates always blame luck💀
I feel like the only person who uses sword and blunderbus 😂
I used to love the game but I get tired of getting grieved what I mean is when your a solo sailer the Galilean that kills me 7 times in a row witch causes me to leave I wish there was a pve
It's a pirate game
@@ceo9395 yeah and being in a 4v1 and killed again and again even if you don't have any treasures aboard is so fun
Because it is a pirate game doesn't mean you have to be a terrible person by doing such p***y moves and the fact that some people like you defend this type of plays is honestly concerning
@@ceo9395 being a pirate game is one thing but when you solo sail and get chased and killed it's not fun it's no excuse that be like me sitting directly out of spawn in a cold game headshot people while yes it's with in rules your looked down upon if I don't have treasure or you sank me already move on to a new target
@@sargesrecap2267 well man all you can do is fight and get better so it dosent happen sorry
@@yann1922 I am on a brig if you're a solo sloop I'll 1v1 one on your boat if I win we will try to sink you simple as that
