      😆 Haha Thanks! Yeah I know the feeling! It’s amazing how much a good chain and sprocket can change a bike. It’s quieter and smoother now.

    Put vice grips on the snails. Bite the snails up against the top of the swingarm, works great.

      shawn z Good idea! Not sure I’d want to wreck the paint or scratch everything up though. But maybe a piece of rubber or cardboard between vice grips and surfaces would work.

      shawn z I’ll try that next time. Of course jamming sprocket with wad of paper towels works too but a little awkward having to hold tire while you use both hands to torque down bolts.

    Great vid 👍 I just barely loosened my axle nut & tapped on bottom tab of snail adjuster with rubber mallet then retightened.

      Thanks! I did that before too. Think why it was so slippery this time was because it was so clean! LOL. Before it was all gritty and sticky. 🤷‍♂️ Who knows.

    I switched to JT sprockets after my one Sunstar started snapping teeth after a couple months....

    With every bike, put it back on the ground in gear to torque the rear axle, and push in on the tire if you have to with your knee, adjusters won’t move at all. I went and checked his vid and he does say to take it off the lift and then torque it

      Maybe that’s why I didn’t seem to have a problem as bad the first time I adjusted the chain. I think it was on the ground and was in gear IIRC. (a few years ago)
      It still seems like it could move and take up chain slack but next time I’ll try it.

    Great video!! Did you just change the rear sprocket leaving front sprocket stock size?

      Thanks! Yup this bike has low mileage and the front sprocket looked new so I used it. Technically you should change both sprockets and chain at the same time though. But yeah I always planned on leaving front sprocket the same size. 👍

      It’s basically 6% less torque everywhere. But sometimes going up a hill is faster with 47t than 50t because the top of fourth gear has the bike going faster for example, when shifting to 5th would slow you down with either sprocket. Gearing is funny like that. Different scenarios produce different outcomes depending on a lot of different variables.
      Biggest downside is 2nd gear off road was better stock. Seems like now I’m always shifting down into 1st when before could hang is 2nd gear and go faster. But it’s not that huge of a difference overall.

      And sometimes it’s faster in 2nd for same reason as the same example above between 4th and 5th. Sometimes with either sprocket shifting to 3rd is too tall of a gear. So revving out 2nd gear is 6% faster with the 47t sprocket than with stock 50t.

    Guess im backwards..
    The T-Dub isn't a hiway bike at all..
    So i went the other way.. i put on a 55 tooth rear sprocket..
    Much better for trails..
    Starting to wish i had ordered a 60T...
    But ? In the parts box, I've got a 13T front sprocket.
    13/55 would be great in the woods and on the farm

      Yeah that would be much better for trails. I guess I ended up mostly riding the TW on slow roads and dirt roads. I like lighter weight bikes for trails but the TW can do it well.

    Man I wanted a gold one but the universe worked against me. I am going to try a 15/49 to start with. I may drop down to a 47or45. Not sure yet. I am mostly road / dirt roads. I would like to see a steady 55mph.

      Should be fine! Stock gearing will do 55 mph all day long.

    Hey were you able to use the stock bolts holding on the rear sprocket you linked to or did you have to get aftermarket bolts?

      Yeah I was but the threads were pretty messed up from factory over-tightening. I would replace the bolts with new ones if I were to do it again.

    Where did you get the brakes? And how much better are they than stock? I'm looking on getting a TW soon and wanted to know what can be done to improve the rear brake

      Amazon, I have a link in the description. Yup they are diffidently better, but the ones I took off were old and used so there's that. But EBC brakes are top quality brakes.

      @@bwxmoto Thanks man! I really appreciate the feedback. For being around for so long, the TW really doesn't have the biggest aftermarket. I guess they're just perfect from the factory, huh? I really can't wait to get one though!!

      @@Hircine101 Yeah they don’t need much. People try to make them something other than what they are intended to be with suspension mods and stuff but it’ll never be a fast bike.
      Better to just slow down and enjoy what the bike is. Front tire is a nice mod because stock one is terrible IMO.
      Skid plate, bigger footpegs, maybe handle bar riser, hand guards.. stuff like that for protection and comfort are nice to do. 👍
      Maybe a gearing change.. but that gold chain isn’t needed, but it’s great to have mainly because it requires less maintenance than stock type chain. Great bike though for sure!

      Absolutely. I thought my drum was warped or something, the stock pads were so bad. They looked ok but must have been messed up. The pedal was pulsing and everything. After installing new shoes the pedal was actually smooth and the brakes work a ton better too, have a lot more stopping power. 👍

      They’re on lots of bikes apparently. They are pretty cool except for that problem with torquing down axle nuts!

      georgiaridgerunner 79 I think if the notches on the adjuster were bigger it would be easier to torque nut down without jamming rag in the sprocket bit that works pretty good.

      Just finished pressurewashing 200+ ft. Drive way it took six hours with two pressure washers
      Both washers have chinese honda clone engines i must admit they both have about 100 hours run time on em and theyve lasted longer than i expected i might be a little more trusting of these engines now...

      georgiaridgerunner 79 Haha. Yeah they’ll run for a long time if they have ethanol free gas run through them and oil changed regularly and gas drained in the off-season.
