I always love watching your videos; your creativity is inspiring and fun to watch. This project was no exception. The coloring you used really worked out nicely and I like the use of the twig for the stem and bottom of the apple. The mouse was very clever.
Hi Mark... Thank you so much for your kind words... I'm glad that you are enjoying my eclectic mix of videos... This was a really fun project to make.. I'm glad that you liked it... Take care my friend...All the best.....Andy
It's so cute and the apple is so realistic! What a surprise it would be to find this little mouse house in a basket of apples! As a child I probably would have wanted to take the little mouse out to play with. 😄 Thank you for sharing this wonderful piece, take care. 😊
Hi Gary... Thank you so much... I did think about having a worms head popping out instead of the mouse... Perhaps another time... Take care my friend...All the best.....Andy
Hi Jack... Thank you very much... I hope that you are enjoying some better weather now... Rain here too now... big surprise 🙄 Take care my friend...All the best.....Andy
Hi Andy nice to see you again how is your family and dog and you? The apple and mouse popping out the apple is really cute and I love it. You are really talented I enjoy watching your channel. Thank you for a magnificent item and video. Take care from Amanda xx❤❤
Hi Amanda... We are all good thank you... I hope that you and yours are all well... I have a short video of Ivy on the beach.. I must post it soon... Thank you so much for your kind words as always... Take care my friend...All the best.....Andy xx ❤
Very nice ! Regarding the bottom of the apple, instead of a twig, I have been advised ti use sone dried cloves. You just pinch the bulb of the clove and keep the star shaped form, that you plant in the apple in a small hole that you make with a drill. I made several wood apples and pears this way. Result is very realistic
Haha, very cool surprise at the end with the mouse, Andy! The whole apple/mouse thing is just so cute and imaginative! You are really great at this kind of thing. Fun video to watch! 😊 Phil

Welcome back Andy, nice to see Cornwall basking in the sun, well at least not raining.... Sunny here in Southern Spain and new lathe arrived last week so just getting used to using it. Like the mouse n apple idea, have fun mate.
Hi Colin... Thank you... Back to normal rainy weather I'm afraid this week... I'm glad that you are enjoying the sunshine... What lathe did you get if you don't mind me asking... The apple was a fun project to make... Take care my friend...All the best.....Andy
@@AndysCornishCreations Hi Andy, I got a Record Power Coronet Regent. Looked at the Maxi, but too many drive belts and it was discontinued and I couldn't find out why, nice looking lathe though, also the Nova Nebula, but too much reliance on electronics and computery stuff for me. Playing at making lidded boxes at present, being able to turn the headstock is great for hollowing out. Just to cheer you up a bit it's raining here today as well! Cheers, Colin
Hi Colin... Great choice... In my opinion that is the best value lathe on the market by far... I imagine that you welcome a bit of rain in Spain... Take care my friend...All the best.....Andy

Always enjoy your videos,I am just starting woodturning can you advise me on the best way to keep my chiesels sharp? Many thanks and keep making your videos
Hi Bryant... I'm glad that you are enjoying my videos... I am not the greatest authority on chisel sharpening but it is a very important part of turning... A dull chisel is hard work and can be more dangerous... A bench grinder is an absolute must.. Or the Robert Sorby sharpening system if your budget can run to that..( mine can't) You can grind "freestyle " just following the original grind.. But in time you will probably want to make slight adjustments to the grind... For instance..increasing the wings on a spindle gouge or slightly rounding a square scraper or turning a standard scraper into a negative rake scraper... I would also consider getting one of the sharpening jigs .. You can get them online or make one yourself.. The bowl gouge sharpening jig is particularly good .. But also the angle rest for the bench grinder is very useful as you can set the cutting angle.. There are videos about sharpening from turners far more capable than me... I hope that this helps... I hope that you are enjoying what I think is a great hobby and will continue to do so... Take care my friend...All the best.....Andy
Hi Joe... Haha... well I am impressed... nice touch with the Cornish... Of course I had to look it up as I am a Yorkshire lad living in Cornwall for a mere 18 years... Which makes me an "incomer " Ahh.. when you say woodcarving.. do you mean carving or whittling..?
Makes me smile. Thanks Andy for lovely whimsical apple tutorial.
