Imagine if Rick told Shane and Otis that all they had to do was get walker blood on them and they could've got the equipment for Carl no problem
Shit I ever thought of this lol
yes when they stopped behind that door at the shop they could of done that but his mind wasn't in the right place to think of that from the stress, he also could of did that with Sofia too
😂
@@gerardmcquade9102there was only like a couple walkers with the Sophia situation though
@@methe7738 she still got bit, but she might've acted like Sam and died anyway
i think Nick from Fear is the Goat of camouflage in the whole universe i think he invented it first
Nick is a druggie , psycho 😢
Negans group also camod his whole base with the bodies of walkers, then having them casted to the fence
You’re right, I actually have a concept for a video on using walkers as tools so I thought that would fit there a bit better
Similar to Michonne chaining up her pets at night so they can sleep safely
One unmentioned form of camouflage occurs in Season 9 during the reveal of the Whisperers. If you recall, a horde was approaching Eugene and Rosita. Unable to run away due to Eugene's injured leg, they use mud and dirt as a way to hide their scent from the approaching horde, as they then hear the whispers for the very first time.
You could probably make a small horde of pets, the more the merrier, and get them to carry stuff, or even carry you along in a cart of some sort.
Like a walker version of husky sled dogs.
Imagine if after time you’ve built up hundreds of pets and just ride them round the country without a care in the world, hidden within hordes.
That’d be wicked.
that sounds pretty sick
like what if a trader or 2 used this method to go around and trade without being attacked by bandits and stuff while putting up flags showing which walker is really a human
Michone gets a walker to carry their luggage in the ones who live
I’m wondering why we haven’t seen that and roving canibals that live among the dead hunting the living and leading hordes to hunt beasts
I did that in an old rpg by the way, riding my skeleton horde town to town to advance our numbers
Michone did this in her debut
What I’ve always come to recognize is that the difference between the Guts and Whisperer Skin techniques have different results based on what I’ve seen in the show. Guts obviously has the blood on you and you completely separate the walkers attraction to you. What I’ve noticed with the Skin Mask however is the fact that the Whisperers managed to actually herd the walkers! I’d like to believe that’s because the Walker is tricked just enough to see that what is in front of them is a fellow walker… but because the survivor is not covered in guts, they still smell like human! Just enough that Walkers will faintly follow that scent only to be second guessed by the Mask.
I could be wrong but the sense of smell is separate from the ventilation process your lungs create (CO2 removal). The olfactory nerves for smell are ran by the brain stem.
Hey nice catch, if that is the case that would be a valid explanation
It’s weird because when people camouflage themselves if they walk like one of the dead they will be left alone but as soon as they start doing human actions the walkers will try to attack it’s shown in the episode where Daryl fights beta as soon as the whisperers/beta start climbing up a blocked stair case walkers start trying to attack them same with when Negan started to talk the one he was trying to gather found out he wasn’t dead and tried to attack
That's not that weird. Makes sense cause they see that something clearly ain't right about them if they stop acting like the other Walkers
Might as well try to bite it. I bet zombie flesh tases bad to them but is as digestible as their own starving body
Admit it,! You were shocked when he was laying under that bed with that guy's morphine drip iv 😂
@@twilightgardenspresentatio6384 Are you saying to bite a walker? That'd probably guarantee an infection or a disease or some kind, if not several. People get sick by wearing walker guts on their clothing, let alone putting it inside of their body!
When considering a wardrobe switch up 💃💃
For Halloween one year I went as a walker and used ground beef and blood of cows it was the coolest costume
You actually covered yourself in that?
@@Pakotugudugudugudugudugudugu i won best costume
@@sascharay190but you actually covered yourself in that?
@@ampersandyyy yes
@@sascharay190 that’s hard bro, not worth it imo (it seems kind of gross) but very badass and it’s awesome that you got best costume out of it too.
I wonder if a zombie kills a person and is covered in their blood if the other zombies would attack that zombie?
not really think of the whispers
Nah I think no matter how much human blood is on a zombie, that zombie’s natural stench will still stand out
@@dmongru maybe but as predator you hunt for the smell of the pray, and you become use to your own and other common smells
I've been wondering about this for years AHAHAHA
@@user-ki2cx4kr9i what about them?
Daryl wearing a hoodie also covered in guts is probably the smartest/safest play in that scenario. Like I don’t understand how Aaron, Rick and Glenn can have their faces completely clean and come face to face with walkers and not get attacked. Luciana smearing her face a little really shouldn’t be considered as canon, but I don’t think she was getting close enough to the dead to try and blend in with the horde.
Also the way the whisperers seem to treat the skin masks probably helps with the influenza problem.
Daryl was able to sneak into the whisperer group with just the mask, no extra skin required
I think they definitely breathe, but the original purpose of obtaining oxygen doesn't matter as much anymore. I think breathing along with movement is what keeps their "blood flow" moving, though.
Awesome another video :) you are awesome keep it up man
Went looking for this after the post yesterday such a good video idea
You're giving us such great content dude.
This is one of the interesting parts in the series. Especially the skin suits as used by The Whisperers. I wonder whenever it rained, would the whisperers mask lose the rotten smell if it got wet? Also, Nick put tons of that walker blood on his face and I’m surprised he didn’t get sick like Gabriel especially how close contact the blood was on him. I guess he just got plot armor like half dead Morgan did lol. Very interesting video tho!
Just keep a lump of goo meat in your pocket
I think nick popped every pill in his pickled path and it just kept killing germs
Nick applied the blood of fresh corpses (Fear 1-3 occurs over two months), so they hardly had many sores.
@@zeleeba8774Exactly what I've concluded. The bodies were still relatively fresh when Nick used this strat, realistically after a couple of years rubbing rotting flesh and blood into your skin and pours doesn't sound like a recipe for success.
I think I’d actually start crying if I was in the middle of a hoard like that, even if they were ignoring me. 😭
if it was me i would be using pets and skin but not in the form of masks because the pets can be used to carry gear and the skin can be light armour and camouflage but the only issue is it needs to be dried and i would think doing that would take the smell away from it also from real life tribes making things from human leather it takes a whole lot longer than is shown in the show, TWDEXPLAINS did a video on that but i don't think it is up anymore, i also have a theory on how the pets work and it is because they have bloody open wounds from cutting their arms off and destroying their jaw
Love your channel! Subscribed 🙌🏽
How about on how Eugene's genius intellect was forgotten and nobody ever thought about increasing the defensive fortifications in Alexandria, Hilltop, Oceanside, The Kingdom... I feel like Eugene would have had the knowledge to make the best additions and all the veterans would have had the experience to realize that this was needed.
I love your glasses!!! Slightly nerdy and it looks great on you. 😊
Dude said they smell by "tasting it" in the air. Just a really enhanced sense because of constant hunger or something. Aka the most pungent scents are the ones that dominates
But how for zombies that are still out there after 10 years as a lot were shown to be skeletal, almost to the point all organs would have rotten off, including the brain. Means they shouldn't be able to hear, smell or even stand up without any of the basic functions. Not to mention, they can determine the exact distance to grab a person as well.
Basically, a walker after 10 years would be like a vegetable, no sights, hearing, smelling, feeling or even spatial awareness but they keep on going. This makes less sense than Romero's explanation of space radiation.
Figure nick was immune to the bloody mask if he’s taking every drug he finds and gets rest while passed out when he overdoses
Hell yeah, I was just trying to explain these mechanics to some friends recently. A part of what makes TWD zombies unique in zombie lore.
Another topic that comes to mind, not sure if it's worth an entire video or not, is how people (mostly Whisperers) are able to control hordes of zombies. The mechanics for hordes in general are interesting to me, how they attract stray walkers to grow the horde and how/why they move like they do.
Love zombies.
I loved how Nick in Fear used blood to camouflage into walkers as i had always complained in TWD that in a near death situation no one used this strategy unless the writers wanted them to. It'd make sense overtime the rotting blood and flesh could make someone sick but they knew about this trick since season 1 and if you just used armor and mask over the blood i think youd be fine.
Love your shirt!! 🧟♀
The camo was always cool to me. When my cousin and I would theorize zombie stuff one of his first plans (he’s an actor and set designer) was to study them and try to blend in. “I passed as straight for 20 years, I could pass as a zombie for 20 minutes.” Lmao
1:46 Rick's face right there is very funny to me.
Another great vid what’s next?
Walkers don’t breathe… but they constantly make those throaty, dry exhaling noises?
whisperer are not only avoiding walkers but they are also avoiding other human attacks
Love your videos, do you plan on covering stuff from the comics in the future?
Yes absolutely! I have tons of ideas lined up for both universe, it’s just a matter of getting around to them
When Morgan hit shot and end up with gangrene wounds he was able to pass off since he smelled dead
I always wondered as well, if you are nearly hugging walkers... wouldnt their smell overtake anything you might smell of? Almost like Michonnes duo of armless/jawless walkers.
I still don't get the michone's pet trick. Like why would cutting their arm and jaw make them stop attacking the living? It'll make sense she cut off their nose cause as previously mentioned they use their sense of smell to find living people
She cut their jaw so they wont bite her or other people. She cut thier arms so they wont injure/scratch other people even they want to attack.
As Milton explained, because they no longer have the resources to eat, they stop desiring it, and starve. VERY SLOWLY.
Now all they are is a Lurker.
@@robsplay3820 not being able to bite doesn't mean they wont try to bite, meaning even without a jaw they should still be walking towards fresh meat and put their face and try to bite even without a jaw
The skin suits mask reminds me of the goule mask from fallout
Getting bit is great camouflage
for the skin suit section, you could’ve added the part from the world beyond season 2 trailer where a crm soldier is shown wearing the complete walker corpse in whole, whether or not that was a shot just for the trailer though, i would have no idea
That was actually just a dream sequence by iris
Once a again this is another awesome video! Definitely needs more views and likes!
I almost feel like they just see blood and don't attack unless it sounds like something other than a zombie.
Can you make a vid on good and bad awful characters in twd
goated
You forgot that one technique from season 9 where they used mud to cover their scent.
🤷♂️
Valid
a cool idea would be to map out a twd world ZA compound
I wonder if u use fishing line to make a walker move a little faster or something if the other dead would assume it was alive and try to eat it
How does a rotten corpse sometimes with no nose have a sense of smell better/stronger than a dog? Like how can they smell a human over their own rot lol
Or hearing too as many walkers are decomposed to the point they are almost skeletal, means even if the virus SOMEHOW preserves the brain, they'd be no less than a moving head, not being able to even snarl without a damn vocal cord, or even move the jaw as all muscles would have rotten away.
L❤VE your TWD shirt👌
the skin suits not so much, nasty🧟♀️
Great video BTW🙌💎
What if we hooked up a walker with stereo speakers? Would the other Walkers attack? I know its ficcional but still doesnt really make sense, the pets are stupid, so just because the walkers without mout do not attack the others wont? It bothers me how tue show did not attempted to explain this at any point
The comment about Morgan is wrong it's not the only isolated case. What about in fear the old homeless man the walkers didn't pay any attention to.
Hygiene in the Zombie Apocalypse...
Name: Nicholas Clark
Class: Zombie Commando
Level: 100
I wonder how regular camouflage would work against Walkers, can they see effectively or is it the scent driving it all, with vision only coming into play when close?
Regardless, we almost never see anyone wearing camouflage which would be a great thing to have against other humans, especially when fighting a war. I always said Neegan and Rick should have all had their factions in full camo
That’s a really interesting question. I’d love to see how a gillie suit fairs against walkers
👏👏👏👏👏
the whisperer tactic are the dumbest because you'd be mistaken for a walker & thus get you killed
I'm here for the Swell
I hope that sounds awkward
i edge and goon to your videos
