Nick would be a great whisperer... but too bad he's got he's heart in the right place :/
When he got bit by the dog it reminded me of Clementine getting bit in the arm by that dog then being stuck in the shed all night
She was bit in the arm.
@@trevertravis8963 literally was about to write that
@@trevertravis8963ah yeah I just remembered. Mixed that up with her leg wound later on but still kinda similar!
I wish there were more episodes like Grotesque and the journey of Daniel’s daughter in the wasteland.
THIS, THIS right here is what drew me and so many others into this show. Back when they all were barely surviving, the walkers were the real main threat, and they were just looking for a place to stay and survive, even if just for the night.
That’s why Nick is such a great character, he’s not a savage or cold like Rick at his worst, he just has no care for his own life. He just roams and does whatever he wants to with no care for himself.
The BEST stories were the simplistic ones. No big bad to go to war against, no ridiculous nuclear blasts, just people trying to survive in an inhospitable world. Grotesque was a fantastic episode. My favorite was when Nick was staring down that dude walking with the walkers... you could see the dudes face registering "oh, $#!+"... Although not an entire episode, the beginning of Seed was a good example of survival by whatever means... when Rick knocked the can of dog food out of Carl's hand... Daryl nabbed an owl... gotta do what ya gotta do.
I love the stories that embraced the darker aspects of the walking dead world that tackled real survival horror like this and I really do wish they'd go back to more of it.
Ftwd is sooo good, but after season 3. That’s sadly bad…
You mean was lol
Season 6 was actually great!
@@SnidebGames Second half was minimal and the finale was complete garbage
@@brianachim2670 I agree, motivations in season 7 and 8 were questionable at best, but pioneres from season 6 and all that plotline with Teddy and nukes was pretty entertaining. It's good that John died and Al left there so the showrunners couldn't ruin them.
I would have stopped watching after season 7 if it wasn't for the return of Troy who carried the whole season 8.
And the ending was the dumbest shit i've seen, like why did they rename PADRE to MADRE, why was that necessary??
And why the fuck would Dwight and Sherry return to the sanctuary, wasn't it destroyed a few episodes ago 💀
Also HOW IN THE LIVING HELL DID DANIEL LOSE HIS DEMENTIA???
@@SnidebGames They renamed PADRE to MADRE because women are better XD. Dwight and Sherry went back to the Sanctuary because the moronic writers can only think of regressing the characters backwards and Daniel lost his dementia through the power of juice. Must be the same juice Ian and Andy are drunk on.🤣
I'm still mad that the best character on Fear got taken out by a child. I agree 1-3 was the prime for this show. I'm still more interested in the fall, than what happened after. Fear did that- for awhile, 😂
i basically gave up after that. he was a perfect 'character' for storytelling
In fairness, he was killed off because the actor wanted out rather than being forced out like certain others in the franchise. It is disappointing, but considering the direction the show went in... he arguably made the right call. Any time I recommend Fear to others, I typically tell them to watch the first three seasons (which I actually prefer over most of the mainline show myself) and to strongly consider skipping the rest.
@@Slosten Travis *cough cough* 🤣🤣🤣 100% agree.
@@Slosten pretty sure i truly gave up before the bomb. i was so bored lol. ill always watch TWD and even that bores me, but I will never go back and finish Fear
@@tiffanysullivan5454 and Cliff Curtis/Travis was going to be leaving to join the Avatar franchise. (Would have enjoyed seeing him stay on the show a bit longer, but his demise wasn't a surprise)
I've always thought this episode of Fear was one of the best single episodes TWD universe has ever put out. I love the scene where he struggles to find the Spanish word for "dog" when talking about his bite wound.
Just top tier survival content.
I agree with everything you said. Both shows lost a step when episodes like that disappeared. No explanations for how people got out of impossible situations always irked me.
This was such a brilliant episode. I remember feeling the tension of this episode. I felt so emotional when that poor older man in the car was asking for water. The highway outlaws was extra horrible . It was the episode that made me love Nick and FTWD as a whole. It felt real and raw.
100%. This episode is always such a highlight of the Erickson era on rewatches
early ftwd really competes with the quality of the early main series imo. lazy writers get cycled in and here we are now, but after the ones who live there's a glimmer of hope for the future
I agree, early fear has some of my favourite storylines from the franchise
I miss this type of vibe of zombie survival
A horror episode to me was the one with connie in the house 😳
Like your video bro keep it going can you do more ftwd season 1-3 analysis videos 👍❤
Absolutely! I love the Erickson era of Fear. Thanks for watching!
@@Swell-Films yes same is the best era of fear wish they continue with that but unfortunately they didn’t
ugggh i miss the dave erickson era so much 😭
No way the chick with the ball bat would have gotten my food and water especially just holding a bat.
Great episode to highlight!
In regards, with the way the highway banditos were fumbling when the horde approached. My take has been that they recognized Nick and thought that he had returned with the dead to seek vengeance.
Four Walls and a Roof was my favorite walking dead episode until this one came out, I’ve watched both easily 20 times
bro is a project zomboid character 😭
Early FTWD was addictive and exciting ... some great ideas explored and a different POV on the end of the world
Now I need to rewatch 2x8!!! :-)
Frank Dilane Was AWESOME On FTWD , As The Junkie Nick. Your Analysis of Grotesque , Once Again Was Spot On Fabulous !
I recently watched season 2 and this episode in particular and can't believe its already been 8 years! It made since that Nick embraced this post-apocalyptic world faster than others because he was already alone before the world ended so it was like second-nature to him. This was definitely one of the best episodes in the entire Fear the walking dead in my opinion. I wish Nick would have lived longer but we got what we got😂😭 Would you do any environmental stories on Fear?
Nicks storyline is one of the most interesting in the entire franchise. Such a shame what happened.
I’d definitely be interested in doing environmental stories for fear, I just need to go through and find them lol
Episosed like these make me wonder what happened to people from other countries, China? Turkey? Australia?
I remember the teltale game having russians, and someone mentioning cold making walkers slower and even freeze... I can see people living in isolated parts of cold climate doing well, Alaskans, Russians and Canadians.
You should have many more subs than you do. This was fantastic. Thanks so much for all your hard work.
Hey thanks so much for watching!
AMC should at least thank you for all the effort you are making, talking about twd. I want the zombie genre to continue, but After the inevitable end of the walking dead... Even if Andrew Lincoln manages to "save" the series, all of this Will end. Your videos are perfect to explain a good zombie world Building, and i Will never thank you enough for all of this❤
Hey thanks so much I really appreciate the kind words
Also, eight years old is not really old when it comes to walking dead and a good cinema :)
Haha true I just can’t believe it’s already been that long
Yeah a horror survival comeback to steer away from the soap opera with zombies drama it became.
you r videos are such a vibe ✨
i loved nick so sad he died like that
It’s seriously such a shame.
What are your thoughts on the various compounds that survived, or fell, or shouldn't have fell or be abandoned? I never understood why the prison was abandoned, or why the hotel fell... other than a story plot to get everyone on the road.
i forgot about this episode and that aspect of it was great but the one with Connie and virgule was also a good example of that and killer within and when Daryl was on his own in season two and was it season 9?
I looove the music you use in the background
I beleive the main track is called “apocalyptic echoes” which you can find in the TH-cam studio library, the other track I’ll have to check again on my timeline
Wait just realized when Nick ate that dead dog that the walkers ate wouldn’t he get infected or get sick and become a walker??? Tbh when I saw this episode I liked it a lot and it made me think that survival will always be hard.
I guess not. I’m pretty sure Kirkman said in an interview years ago the hunters wouldn’t have turned from bobs tainted meat, so who knows, maybe it’s fair game!
@@Swell-Films Good point about that
@@Swell-FilmsThat’s different, that meat was cooked, Nick ate raw meat which gives you an infection no matter what.
I personally think that World beyond does it best with season 1 episode 9.
Interesting answer, tbh I can’t even remember that episode well, I’ll have to check it out again!
Season 6 FTWD Morgan Jones had to face a nuclear bomb what with his wife and daughter so he did not go unscathed
Ugh, top five episodes of FTWD hands down.
Without a doubt. Its in my top 5 of all time tbh
What mic do you use?
L💟VE This Video!
its Grotesquely Great‼️
🩸🩸🧟🩸🩸
🙌💎❤️
Νick WAS FTWD :-(
❤
Less that 50 minute gang!!!!
👇
Lessgo I’m the second person
holy shit NICK WAS TOM RIDDLE BEFORE HE LOST HIS NOSE
You definitely got me back and updated on TWD. I stopped watching in season 8 (when the kingdom got ambushed, last episode I ever watched) but after binge watching your videos, I'm now updated to season 11 thanks to you.
