I can imagine this video was uploaded 3years ago but it just saved me a lotta cash today My laptop just wouldn't turn on for weeks now and I took it to an engineer who told me there's a problem with the motherboard. But just following these steps, I have fixed it Thank you so much for this tutorial God bless you 💖
Your help was much appreciated my friend. Unplugging the battery cable and then plug it in again did help me. Back in the past when the cellphone got stuck we used to do the same thing by simply taking the battery out. Unfortunately, everything is irremovable nowadays.
This worked like a charm! Thank you for saving me a lot of money in repairs. It’s strange how manufacturers are making it hard to get to the battery like this
Your video was very helpful. I had the same exact issue but it wasn't a keyboard issue for me. After trying ur steps of dismantling, removing battery, etc (5-6 times) mine finally came on without shutting off anymore (every 5sec before). Many thanks and respect bro
Good thing you wrote it off. This usually required a motherboard plus keyboard replacement. The recessed reset hole beside the sd card slot can turn this Notebook on well.
Thank you so much I have been in tears I worked really hard on my assignment and I’m a single mum with five children and I can’t afford another computer or to get it fixed and this is fixed it God bless you and the name of Jesus
My wife's Lenovo 320 took a crap and would not come on. I didn't have to remove the CMOS battery but removing the main battery seemed to do the trick! I noticed that the cooling fan was really dirty so I decided to clean it with some electronic spray cleaner on it and all the connection points. It's back together now and purring like a kitten! Thank you so much for making this video.
Awesome! I was having this exact same problem and the only way we could get the computer to turn on was a pin in the reset button. It turns out the key board data cable was a bit loose and after following your instructions at about the 19-20 minute mark our issue has been fixed. Thanks!
Thank you! Very useful! My E550 was not turning on at all so I took it appart and it seems like the CMOS battery had to be uplugged/replugged for it to work again
Suspect bad battery. An important signal coming from battery to super io on motherboard is missing hence the bad behaviour. Also check pins out of keyboard connector with MMEter. Check input mosfets at ac adapter. Maybe shorting one of them would bypass the control signalling and get things behaving normal. Would be interesting to keep playing with it.
These integrated keyboards seem to be problematic. I have seen plenty with a fault that types specific characters on their own. Disconnecting the kb and using an external kb is not an option as the power button is also disabled. Workaround bormally is to apply thin sticky tape to all but the left 2 contacts on the ribbon cable. Left 2 with the cable pointed away from you. Carefully reinsert the ribbon cable and you have disabled the kb but for the power button.

Right, It does not work with the connected battery and the battery must be removed and only works with direct charge and turns on automatically. You've uploaded this video 2 years ago, did you find a solution for it? Or something else?
The keyboard is most likely the cause of it not powering up. Removing the cmos battery and main battery is just a work around. Finding a replacement keyboard may be difficult.
I tried the above to no avail booted it with reset button unplugged keyboard ribbon cable and it stayed on. Guess the power bottom is shorted? Going to buy a new keypad.

The fans turn on for a moment, and after a while the fans turn off. The laptop screen is black. What do you think might be damaged in the laptop?
Open it up and disconnect the battery hold down the power button for about 30 seconds then just plug in the AC adapter and see if it'll power on with the battery not connected. If that works just connect the battery again close it up you're done. If it doesn't try reseating the RAM sticks and if there's two RAM sticks try one at a time and see if you get video.

When I just search for the symptom and the model number a lot of people were talking about it. Is it a Motherboard problem or what? 😥
Remove anything that doesnt need to be there for it to turn on so just power and power button cables any other cables or devices, remove them. If it still won't turn on with just pressing the power button then it's a problem with the motherboard.
@@MichaelTheComputerGuy it is exactly like this after 4 times shutdown and thurn on today after the accident. I'll give it one more day, when not I must buy a new one, and never Lenovo again. Thanks Michael.

i am having somewhat simmilar issue with my ideapad 330 the motherboard and the power lights turn ON when i plug in the charger (I dont have a battery) plus mines come with builtin RAM. holding power button flickers the light on the motherboard but there is no display and the cooling fan does not come on.
I had similar problem earlier . the repairing guys told me the motherboard was dead. but later few months it stareted on its own. now its repeating the same issue.
Please guide me.
Most likely a motherboard issue
