    Amazing video, it helped me a lot to understand all the shortcuts, thank you!
    One question, do u know if it's possible do map a hotkey to fast forward the game without having to press the menu button? For example setting the R2 button to fast forward on a GBA emulation? Thanks in advance!

      Hey thanks for watching the video and leaving a comment, appreciate it!
      I think it's possible but I don't know enough about RetroArch so I'm looking into it right now and will reply with another comment when I find something.
      So far one method is to remove the hotkey toggle from the Menu button and removing all hotkeys other than fast forward but that's really inconvenient.
      I'll be digging into the RetroArch files so it may take me a while.

      I searched everything I could and according to the official Onion OS documentation (onionui.github.io/docs/faq#how-do-i-bind-fast-forward-to-a-single-button), it only works on certain systems like GB, GBC, and GBA.
      You go into RetroArch with Menu + Select -> Controls -> "Port 1 Controls" and rebind R2 to Fast Forward.
      The changes should be saved automatically.
      I'm trying to figure out how to get the Fast Forward bind to show up on other systems like PS1 but I'm having no luck so far by looking at config files.

      @@vonzurch1Glad it helped! I'm still looking into how to bind R2 for fast forward for other systems like PS1 but I'm having no luck figuring out how to replicate it.

    very good tutorial! Is there any way to make fast forward faster?

    • @duckyobrien

      Thanks dude! To the best of my knowledge you need faster hardware at this point. There is a setting in RetroArch to increase fast forward speed but it probably won't do much on the Miyoo.
      To increase fast forward rate, you can try this in the RetroArch menu.
      RetroArch (Base Menu) -> Settings -> User Interface -> Menu Item Visibility -> Settings -> Show 'Frame Throttle' (turn on)
      RetroArch (Base Menu) -> Settings -> Frame Throttle -> Fast-Forward Rate (increase)

      If that doesn't work you can also try overclocking if you haven't already! It will not decrease battery life or temperature as the overclocking method does not increase the voltage used.
      Phyrex has a great guide if you want to reference it: th-cam.com/video/2ptdAy3nZ8Y/w-d-xo.html
      Hope this helps! Let me know if you need any more help.

    Is there a way to map Menu + A to a singular button like L2? I want to be able to swap layouts while playing fullscreen in pokemon to see my secondary screen instead of switching screens altogether

      @duckyobrien  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It might be possible by messing with the config files but I'll need some time to see if it's possible to do without messing things up.
      I'll report back if I do find a way.

      I checked the drastic config files and to the best of my knowledge there's no way to remap the swap screen layout keys. There is a swap screen orientation keybind but I believe that is for rotating the screen and even though I rebound that, it seemed to do nothing.
      I tried checking the source code but I couldn't find where the screen layout swap function is bound. I'm sure there's a solution but I can't figure out a way for now.
      If you wanted a temporary solution where you don't have to use hotkeys, there is a screen layout where the primary screen is full screen and the secondary screen is semi translucent in the upper right corner so you can always see both screens at the same time. Not ideal but might be useful.

    Hello! I have miyoo mini pus 4.3.0 and stuck to a game and can not exit.... Arcade pang

    • @duckyobrien
      @duckyobrien  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I don't know what you mean by Arcade pang but if you are using a RetroArch core, pressing Menu + Select while in a game will bring up the RetroArch menu and you can exit from there.
      You can also press Menu while in a game to bring up the game switcher, and exit from there.
      Long pressing/holding Menu in a game will save and exit the game.
      If for some reason the hotkeys are not working in RetroArch the keybinds could have gotten messed up. Go to Apps -> Tweaks -> Advanced -> Reset settings... -> Reset RetroArch main configuration or Reset all RetroArch core overrides.
      If you're using a standalone emulator, the hotkeys may be different, let me know which emulator you are using. Usually the menu is accessed with some combination with the Menu key.
      Hope that helps.
