Yeah, I have what my boyfriend calls "The Handheld Museum", so I have many devices to choose from, including more powerful devices, but this is the handheld I play 90% of the time. The portability/pocketability is great, but the fact that I can turn it on and have it immediately boot into my last game/save state is such a big deal. It's like sleep mode without the worry that you'll drain the battery if you don't play it for a few days.
Could you please do a tutorial on how to replace the silicon membrane on the miyoo mini? I have a loose B-button and i think replacing the membrane would help.

I think the hinge of the clamshell opens the way it does because they're Japanese. We're used to things opening up like a book and so are they. But they're books open the other way.
I have a similar Miyoo grip from etsy, about $20. It's great, I've been on a kick of buying grips for every handheld I have. Just wish there were more cases that are made to fit with them, at the moment the Skull & Co Switch Lite case/grips combo and the Split Pad Pro cases are the only ones I know of. More ergonomic handhelds.
3 printed accessories absolutely do not need to look unfinished and shitty, even if it's just a bare print - the printer just doesn't know how to use his device. Look at what folks do with keyboard cases, for example. Those are insanely complex to print, but if you know what you are doing you can make sure it's very smooth and nice in the hands.
I throw my miyoo mini naked into my pocket all the time, I don't think it is fragile enough to need a case, and honestly its cheap enough that if I did somehow destroy it, I'm not going to cry over it.
I think it’s for people that have a phone in one and also keys in pockets so none of those would scratch it up, or if it’s in a bag with other objects that could scratch it
Now I'm adding miyoo mini back into my wishlist after watching the controller attachment. That solved the problem. Don't have to think about using external controller anymore.

Would like to see a during-use oriented case that protected the rigid edges of the screen and the like. These are very neat to see but in terms of practicality the case the device came with is quite good.
It would be nice if the hard case maker made a version to fit the miyoo mini fitted with the better shoulder buttons cause there is no way in the world any user that has bought and tried those is going back to the original shoulder buttons once the others are in
30$ for that grip is unacceptable IMO. Regardless of how cheap the printing material was to print that, the flaws are immediately noticeable. The layers are uneven and the grip ends themselves appear to be completely seperated in some parts. The white / granite really doesn't do it any justice. The stand looked much better! @Retro Game Corps You should really check out the new better shoulder buttons I've been seeing around they look good but I haven't tried them yet they are a bit pricey for what they are 20 bucks but they look solid and comfy.
I really wish I'd gone with that grip. I bought Lennard's version instead, and while I've had great experiences with his stuff in the past, his Miyoo Mini grip has such a thin backplate that the whole thing flexes to a worrying degree. The device can tumble out super easily. A couple more millimeters of material on the back would have fixed this issue, but as is, I just can't trust the thing. Pretty disappointing for such an expensive accessory. :(

I like the Miyoo mini dock/stand. The magnetic feature is super handy. I love the idea of having my mini accessible from my desk. At the moment I just use the case it came with and it sits by my nightstand. Might have to get the dock that’s a great idea 👀
Wow with the Miyoo mini, with that much support and accesories i still think this is the closes i'm gonna get to "the one" for me, but sadly i'd like something that lets me emulate up to Ps2 / GC; i think i'll just get the miyoo and wait for the aforementioned retro pixel pi / lineage os update for the powkiddy A20 (although the A20 update seems impossible right now, powkiddy has been radio silent about it and nobody seems to have bought one apart from like 60 people)
Oh man the print on that first grip is really bad, I know for a fact that a cheap ender 3 can do better with some fine tuning, really makes the company look bad tbh The snap-on case has imperfections but is much more in line with what I'd expect of a commercial 3d print
Yes! That magnetic charger is a godsend to reduce wear and tear for the USB C port. I'm thinking of getting one of these once I finish soldering a new port. That screen protector case though, I don't trust it as much. Maybe in the next Miyoo version they would use a better shell.

Fyi I have the front cover you featured and was very impressed at first, but after a week or so in my pocket, it lost its shape and started bowing outwards. It is now curved in the middle and doesn't fit flush, it also doesn't clasp anymore. YMMV but I am disappointed with my results with it.

3d printing gives small guys a chance to get on the scene yet it cost way more and takes way way more time with lower quality than injection molding. Multi billion dollar companies like Sony should jump on board and make a psp 2022 but they are just to complacent!
Loving my Yume Retro Case so much! Got it in black. I did put stickers on the back as soon as i got it two days ago..great minds.... it wasn't perfect but it looks good. I figured you would slide on the snap case...that's what I did with the other designed one. I didn't get that one because I didn't like the placements of those sides. I'm also really surprised you haven't featured the "better button" triggers.
Really nailed it on the head with the “on a deployment” tidbit. Ever since I’ve seen this thing, I’ve found myself wishing I had this instead of the Game Boy micro did I originally took on deployment.
I’ve ordered a Miyoo mini 4 times now, all of the orders have been cancelled because they’re totally out of stock everywhere, even though some stores will still display them as in stock. Kinda loosing hope in being able to get one

When you do the speaker upgrade if you get crackling audio, try bending the pins out a little to get better contact. I did this and my speakers sound so much better now.

hey russ, I recently picked up a psp go and it has been my favourite of all my portable emulators. often hard to find a good deal on them but I really think that if you see one at a good price you should pick one up. similar to the miyoo mini it is a super light super portable console with an awesome design. I also selfishly would love to see you talk about it because I love how you talk about portable consoles!

The hard shell cover is GREAT but it's no longer $12.. It's now $18 plus shipping so it's a lot more expensive & for me not worth the price
