I have NEVER seen anyone be this detailed while they're reviewing an item. That being said, it's actually really refreshing and I seriously appreciate it, you did a good job, Man. :)
I'm about to buy a Miyoo Mini + having a powkiddy v90 and a PSP to use as emulators and I'm basically all day watching reviews to see if this is the one for me. I just have to say that this is the BEST video review on this device, you absolutely killed it! You answered questions I didn't even know I had 😂 Great job my friend, best regards from Brazil 😊
The MM+ is my first retro handheld and I love it. I was just amazed when I fired up Spiderman 2000 for the first time and saw how tiny and vivid the screen was. I'm currently really busy at work and the only thing I can play is the Miyoo so I have been revisiting some good ol' titles from my childhood. Also, after watching some reviews from other handhelds I think I made the right choice at least software wise as OnionOS has been pretty good so far.
The MM+ looks like a great device. I have a Retroid Pocket 3+ and I just ordered a MM+ for better portability. Onion OS looks pretty cool to mess around with
Great video man. Something you mentioned that I think people need to really keep in mind is that these devices (the 35XX included) are very fragile and will almost certainly break if dropped from even 2-4 ft. There are so many stories on the subreddits for both of broken screens and cracked cases from 2-4 ft drops and even from moderate drops on to carpeted floor. As much as I love both of these devices, they really are not built to last.
@@JaviPlayRetro I'm glad to hear that. I also saw it as a placeholder, meant to encourage you to create something of your own. I'm not sure, but I believe successful TH-cam channels benefit from having an introduction, as it adds a professional touch.
I had the Miyoo Mini + months ago, I LOVED it, especially with OnionOs which I consider a hundred thousand times better than GarlicOs. But even though my hands are classic women's hands (therefore not large), after a while I was struggling to hold it. But the most annoying thing for me was that the brightness outdoors wasn't strong enough and outdoors I really struggled to see the display and also the lack of real time clock made me nervous about games like Pokemon that use it for the difference day/night during the game. So every time I turned on the console, if I wanted to play Pokemon, I first had to remember to reset the time. So I also took the classic Anbernic RG35XX (transparent purple color that I loved) because from the comparison video reviews, I had discovered the presence of the real time clock and above all the brightness quite higher than that of the Miyoo Mini Plus. In the end, having had both at the same time , I myself noticed that the brightness was much better in the RG35XX and together with the real time clock it made me make the decision to sell the Miyoo Mini Plus and stay with the RG35XX. Now I have the RG35XX PLUS and I sell the RG35XX classic. But I really miss OnionOs. I hope the Miyoo Flip comes out soon, which will certainly have compatibility with OnionOs.
@@wargames-mb2gu Obviously it works, but every time you turn off the Miyoo Mini Plus, the watch stops, it doesn't move forward. So if you turn off the console at 10 in the evening for example and turn it on the next morning to start playing again, the clock is stopped at the previous evening, therefore the Pokemon game which predicts the difference in real time between day and night (for the encounter with different pokemon etc..), will start playing when for them it is still 10 pm the day before, therefore still night instead of day. So every time you turn on the Miyoo, you have to reset the time (if you're interested in playing Pokemon) and as long as the console is on, the time runs normally, as soon as you turn it off it stops. Some people probably don't care, but it bothers me a lot, so as I was saying, for ME, the lack of real time clock and the fairly low brightness outdoors made me sell it for the classic RG35XX (and after the Plus). Otherwise I would have kept the Miyoo because I love OnionOs very much and I wish it also existed for the Anbernic, but unfortunately it doesn't.
I'm not really sure what emulator the Miyoo mini uses for GBA but I do know the visualboy emulator uses the real time clock you can turn it on in the settings. I'm having a hard time trying to figure out if I want the mi or RG I know the RG is more powerful and has a graphics card and I know the mi has a better OS
Awesome review. I LOVE the screen on this device. I just ordered the Retroid Pocket 4s Plus though. Mainly for future proofing GCN PS2 and PSP 4X futureproofing. Also heard the RP4s+ is going to work with my Nreal Airs. That is going to be awesome
One more thing, i really loving the Miyoo brand, I haven't seen any minor lags on the Miyoo, but every so often, when in heavy battle zones on the Arbenic, there is a bit of lag, sense hardware is a bit less powerful, compared to the Miyoos.
The video player is a feature that I really miss on the RG35xx Plus. The closest I got was the library feature on Batocera, but the experience was terrible. Was hoping Kodi would be there but couldn't find it. With the HDMI port it would be great while travelling.
You can actually force shut down this device by press and hold simultaneously the power button and volume + maybe volume - for 10+ seconds. Give that a try next time
Yes the volume level is not that loud which is a bummer. But when playing gba or snes there's an option in audio to raise the db which can make the sound louder. I set mine on 9db cos on max, some games the bass sounds bloated
@@JaviPlayRetro at 12db it is distorted but less than it would be ok. Depends on the game too. Plus I use IEM so maybe that helps with the sound quality
@@JaviPlayRetro Awesome! I've been looking at the RGB30 and the x55 from Pow Kiddy as they're both the same price and have been trying to find comparison videos or other budget handheld videos that talks about them
@creekielappy Both are good. What it really comes down to with these is controls and display. X55 has joystick on top and a large 16:9 screen. RGB30 has a 4-inch square screen and has dpad on top of joystick. Both have the same power, connectivity, battery life, too, i think. Powkiddy RGB30 is more pocketable but its still a little big for a pocket. Also the x55 is probably more comfortable because of the shape. Just my thoughts. I dont have an x55 but I do have an RGB30
@@JaviPlayRetro That about sums up the comparisons I have seen as well. Worse comes to worse, maybe I'll just buy both! That's the hardest thing about finding these handhelds in my adult life, I actually have the money to support a slippery slope hobby like this now.
@creekielappy I would buy them both from Amazon, try both, and just return the one you like less. You have 30 days to find out for yourself which one is better
Not gonna lie, the onion os on the Miyoo, makes the Arbenic look like a cheap knock off, Arbenic is weak on hardware, but strong on product quality, while Miyoo delivers strong hardware.
Your talking about the video player as if people don't have phones? I really get an odd feeling about all the positivity about this device. Something fishy going on.

I found that adding a popsocket on the lower back makes this thing perfect for holding for long periods.

I am glad you mentioned the durability I had a V2 Miiyoo mini and one drop and it was toast. So the addition of a wrist strap is an excellent idea.

So does that mean Pokemon won't work on the Miyoo because of this clock

The one time I had auto save corrupt on me. This didn't work, and I was forced to take the sd card out and delete that save for it work normally.
What I mean is that when your Miyoo mini+ freezes and you need to pull out the battery, that could be reset. 23:10
