I'm psyched about the updates, Billy. I love my Skydio 2+ and think it is an underrated drone overlooked by so many. Now I only hope that Skydio makes their own controller and we can ditch that tiny Parrot controller made for children.

Which is exactly why so many have overlooked it. It's why I got rid of mine. I don't do enough self tracking to justify a drone that basically does nothing else with a 2016 camera to boot. It's awesome tech, of course.
I have told Skydio several times they need a nice smart controller with a built in screen! And maybe even some FPV goggles for it! I would for sure get one then!

I'm surprised you aren't more into the "lock beacon controls" setting. That seems to indicate that you can give the beacon to someone, lock the beacon out, but still have it track the beacon visually and with GPS while monitoring from your phone or phone + controller. That seems like a pretty powerful option, as you can now shoot other subjects besides you without worrying if they'll accidentally hit buttons. There hasn't been much, if any testing done with that - maybe a topic for a future video?
They really are long overdue for an updated drone, though. Let's be honest. Awesome that they are making software improvements but so are their competitors. If all they did is significantly upgrade the camera that would be amazing but having a better controller would be awesome as well.
These firmware updates continue to make the Skydio 2 a relevant drone almost three years after it's release. And the Keyframe feature gives it a leg up on most DJI drones that don't any waypoint.mission features. The hand take off feature is really cool. Great video Billy, and thanks for sharing.
Proud of Skydio even though there are more improvements and designs innovation needed. However, I like it because it is American manufacturer. Hopefully, it will be able to catch up with DJI in a short time in the near future.

I have not been able to get it to fly. when I update firmware, a message said Aircraft is up to date but does not give me the connection to camera nor fly? I am beyond frustration. I have reach out to Skydio Support department 3 times and they just referred me to same webpage support, which has not solve anything. I bought this drone from first batch years ago. I go it out of my closet few weeks ago and nothing. I tried two different cellphones thinking this was the problem but both do the same. any help will be appreciate it. thanks
I recently purchased a Skydio 2+. It is much less stable in the air when hovering than my Mini 3 Pro. It seems to wonder around a lot more without input on the controller. Any idea why this is happening?

Purchased a Skydio 2+ and tested the obstacle avoidance, it works flawlessly. The first grip is Keystone, why do we have to fly the drone to mark down keystones? Why can't we just do the Keystones virtually? The second grip is noise, why are the props so noisy, can we not have level/performance rated props? My third and last grip is the lack of a Skydio controller and the lack of a external 9V output. I want to add a DJI digital camera system with 2 x DJI Goggle 2.
Hi there, During 3 months it worked very good , but now My iPhone 12 Pro don’t find the Skydio 2 P network and the drone is not found also by the app. The iPhone found the beacom but not the Wi-Fi of the itself . Tried to reset .. tap tap tap-hold 2 seconds - nothing ( don’t reset also ) When I turn on the controller and beacom .. the lights are always blinking blue and never stay solid blue. Can you help me ????
Nevermind,I found the answer. Skydio says that the new update will be released over the course of one week, but iOS users can get it in advance of the notification by visiting the Apple App Store.
You forgot to discuss "Delete User Account." This is an issue for me in that I have an Android phone. My phone will not allow me to delete "old" flight data from the phone. Currently for me to recover disk space (on the phone), I must remove the app and go through a full re-install procedure of the Skydio. Will this new update only remove flight data/cache and not require me to go through a complete reactivation of the drone on my phone?
Quick launch is a great idea but…pushing many times specially with gloves , ( limited sensibility ) could accidentally activate the reset feature !! Step 2 - Tap and release the power button twice in quick succession. Step 3 - Press and hold the power button a third time for two seconds. Step 3 - Power cycle your drone and the password will be reset to factory generated password.
i hate how skydios mission plan is to replace the majority of drone pilots with their BVLOS automated systems, but hopefully thats decades away, but i feel like its right around the corner.

THey are the MOST OVERRATED Drones on the market...... They need a update and a half the tech is way too old. IT does one thing good follow you with mok at best video.... They should do a new one that can fly as good as any mavic, also has a fpv option. that can fly 100% fpv and have a better camera if the y did that and there wasn't a 3-9 month wait it would be huge!

Yup, this is a pretty old drone at this point. Remote and transmission needs a massive overhaul, but the camera is ok
