If I was needing a drone that ‘did this’, this would be the drone I’d buy. I just picked up a drone based off of your recommendation…the DJI Air 2S. So far so good but it’s been too cold for me to really stretch its wings.
Nice!!! -I would like to see for Skydio 3 a 1" sensor camera with optical zoom. -The 6 obstacle avoidance cameras equipped with infrared for night time flying. - A 360 deg video and photo capability for one time fee of the price of a 360 camera. -High resolution photos. -Also better comm signal at the level of dji & autel, and lose the rabbit ears. Better remote with an led display for basic readings.
No upgrade, don't need range for close scenic tracking shots. Love that skydio2 lets us buy upgraded batteries and still sending new features to skydio2 and not just skydio2+... most companies would just let their new drone use the upgrades. Thanks skydio!

Just started and I'd give you props for the use of the wide aspect ratio. Otherwise, this style of video is just perfect for something like this. It showcases real life usage performance in the autonomy and the general flight time abilities.

These are solid hardware updates to Skydio with release the 2 plus. And shows that Skydio is listening to their customers. But I feel the big news here is the waypoints like feature they added via new software. Great video Billy, the tracking demo was awesome, it did a great job with those bare tree branches, for the most part.
Great video. Fun and entertaining as always. Love love the skydio 2. Best in autonomy. Be careful with the thin branches. It did great despite the crash. Glad you mentioned about the upgraded antennae and upgraded radio. Looking forward to more videos with the skydio 2. There is so much possibility with that drone.

I just want to point out that when I saw this video 3 months ago, it was the first time I saw a Onewheel and I didn't know what it was but thought it was SO COOL. So that Skydio video didn't pushed me to buy one, buy I bought a Pint X and received it last week hahaha Amazing, thanks for showing me the existence of a Onewheel! XD

Apart from the battery improvement the tracking is on point, much smoother maneuverability when it is trying to get back in position not as aggressive as the Skydio2, Great video so many actions in one video..lol

If I would have know, Skydio was coming out with a refreshed model of the Skydio 2,I would have waited. Your tracking videos are very rich with information and action. It is unfortunate that after two years. They did a great job with active track , signals , etc and forget to update camera … it’s kinda important thing with video production …

Hello Billy. Thanks for sharing this with us. I like the skydio 2. I have had the skydio 2 before. It was a hassle to get it to the Netherlands (Europe). I had to ask an American friend to send it to me. Skydio only ships to Canada and the US. I would like to get the + version.

Bill, you make me smile. These new machines are VERY FUN! I am 53 and ride a relatively slow electric unicycle that only goes about 20 mph. Just sold it and looking to buy one that goes 50+ mph. Not on a death wish, just enjoying the life I have. Don’t get this One Wheel this guy is riding. As he demonstrates quite accurately, they are quite prone to wiping out w/o reason. Get an electric unicycle! It will bring the youthfulness back out in you. I’ve had a blast on mine. Ride responsibly and you will regain that spark in your life while getting a passive workout as well!

1 - I love the Skydio 2+. This is coming from someone who’s been running drones for cinematic shows since the Phantom 3. The shots it can grab autonomously while using tiny controllers is shocking. 2 - how often does your One Wheel nosedive? I’ve been tempted to get one for awhile but am wary about the nosedives that you constantly ran out of gracefully 😂

Well, I kinda was too worried about faceplanting to remember to think about my opinion on the S2+. Really though, I didn't see much difference in tracking. I think that hasn't changed. You didn't really show the range here and frankly I wouldn't know you had a new drone or new Beacon offering more range since the video signal was still choppy on your phone and at times completely stopped and jumped to catch up! What was noticeable was the flight time! WOW. That 20% sure gives a lot more it seems! I'm kind of glad it crashed because it broke up the transe I was in from it tracking you! Can you verify if the controller is the same or if it's new like the Beacon and adds range? Or is just the Beacon and radio and antennas new?
I have the 2. The most I will do is upgrade the battery. I mean it goes far already....especially with the controller stick. The software upgrade is for both versions. So, it would be a waste of money to upgrade the unit itself.
Judging from the available packages, the starter doesn’t even offer a controller. I have two dji drones and obviously use the controllers, on a scale of 1-10 how imperative is the controller for this drone. Seems you’re doing quite well with just the phone app.
it would be nice, but since you can get the new battery for the old model and my original Skydio 2 is still like new I'll wait , also i didn't buy it for range i got it for tracking. even though i have the RC and beacon. I'm interested in the Evo lite plus being a evo 2 pro owner I'll wait to see if they add D log first. this is an expensive hobby lol. I'm sure ill end up with skydio 2 plus eventually !
I find the beacon battery does not last as long as the aircraft battery and disappointingly drains rather quickly. What is the average time your beacon battery lasts? Maybe I have a lemon and should return it

You mentioned about having to use the above 8ft floor. Why not do a test and see if the Skydio detects and moves above an approaching vehicle.

I think your onewheel needs a bitt of adjusting lol, seems to cut out a lot, mine doesn't do that. It might be ur sensor pads

If there was any doubts about if this is the right drone for my overlanding application, this just removed it. The 2+ is on my pre season gear list.

If you want better range and manual controls you have to get the controller. The range from the phone is pretty bad.
