    Hi Wendy. The extra tri blocks could be included in the back of the quilt or as a secondary border. Virtually no waste and what an interesting quilt you would have. Edited to add how much I enjoy all your videos.

    Wonderful tutorial thank you so much, i want to make a 9 inch finished block, what measurememts must my blocks be then? I am very new to quilting😊

      So each of the squares need to be 3.5" UNFINISHED - 4 Half-Square Triangles, 1 Hour Glass Block, and 4 of the tri-blocks.
      The HSTs can be done two at a time and you'll need a 4" square of both the background and one color (you'll end up with 2 of each color).
      The Hour Glass Block you'll need 5" squares of each color
      The tri-block, I don't have the information I need right now. I'm hoping someone else can help answer that question, or I'll get back to you later.
      Thanks so much for watching.

    Is there a pattern for this Card Trick quilt with the yardage needed

    • @WendyJHaney
      @WendyJHaney  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No. The information needed to make a single block is described in the video. It is a single block, not a full quilt. Let me know if u still have questions after watching

  • @PrettyGurlBre18
    @PrettyGurlBre18 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Do you have this patter with two colors

    • @WendyJHaney
      @WendyJHaney  ปีที่แล้ว

      You can use the same pattern, just switch out what color you want for which parts. It would still go together the same way. Happy quilting and thanks for watching!

    Thank you for this video! We are doing this block as part of a BOM project but it uses squares cut into triangles. That doesn't interest me at all so I was doing the math to make it this way. Now I know that my measurements are correct and I can see exactly how it will come together. Thanks again!
    P. S. Are those tri-colored blocks called quarter-square triangles? 🤔

    • @WendyJHaney
      @WendyJHaney  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah!!! So glad this helped. I agree, I prefer not to be messing with triangles. Have fun with your BOM!
      Yes the tri-color blocks I believe are called quarter square triangles.

    I remember years ago, (1999) I saw this block somewhere and I was like how in the world was that made? One of these days I’m going make this block, and many years later I finally did and it wasn’t nearly as intimidating as I thought.

    • @WendyJHaney
      @WendyJHaney  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'll admit, you are exactly right. I had the same thoughts and until I decided to do it for this video, I hadn't done it either. Which made it easier for me to understand the challenges... and that it wasn't that hard.

    Hi Wendy! I would love to share with you the card trick quilt I made for my granddaughter when she finished Medical school. I Also made a pillow to go with it, but I cannot share it here. How can I send you a picture?

    • @WendyJHaney
      @WendyJHaney  ปีที่แล้ว

      Feel free to send via FB Messenger, see my FB page in the Description of the video. Otherwise there is a contact button on my website to send me an email. I don't like to put it here as people pull it off with bots and I'll start getting spam. 😠
      Would love to see what you did!! 😍

    I think they call those split half square triangles. Not sure if there is another name for them.
