@@WendyJHaney I forgot to ask about the mechanical pencil (?) that you were using to mark the red fabric. I’m in the process of hand-quilting a project, and haven’t found anything that leaves a satisfying mark on my darker fabrics.

Sorry I missed this reply earlier. I use Sewline chalk pencils that I can get in various colors.
