Edit: It's no longer my fanon idea that this is not canon, because I now believe it to be straight fact. I've now seen evidence about MASSIVE plot holes in the arkham series about how King shark died in literally a prequel film, rocksteady is trying to push this garbage as canon despite the fact it goes against previous established lore, and that makes me feel even more confident in saying that this game isnt canon. And to those defending it still, then you either like to ignore evidence, or your a troll, if anybody has any genuine evidence that this game is canon without saying "well the devs said its canon so it is." then i'll be shocked, and im not talking about some "well arkham batman is here, so its canon." Im talking about solid evidence that proves king shark never died and that the entire prequel film was complete bogus, and even then, there's still a crap ton of other plotholes to begin with, but this is the main one I took note of. But either im making a fool outta myself, or some people refuse to see the blatant mediocrity and lack of care this new rocksteady has for the arkham franchise. Not saying im 100% right, I could be mistaken, but look up video's talking about this and i've seen many youtubers cover that specific film in direct criticism to suicide squad's lack of fact checking and attention to what has been previously established.

I mean, for one, deadshot is a TOTALLY different race than he is in the Arkham series. I know they try to explain it away with some dumb reason but it's complete manufactured bs (so that's one reason i don't view it as truly canon). And two, rock steady clearly are only calling it canon to the Arkham verse simply because they want to increase the hype around the game for more sales/money. Another plot hole, when Boomerang is wrapped with Wonder Woman's lasso he lies about how Flash's finger came off. This game even fails at the basic continuity.

In this version for some god unknown reason, they think just because he's an optimistic boyscout, he will also be some ridiculous gullible fool. It's even worse with the fact that the JL did stop alien invasions before this happened and for some reason, Superman and Green Lantern were just like "Man I'm sure that threatening skull shaped ship actually isn't that bad, come on gang let's welcome him!"

The Suicide Squad is, at absolute best, a city level threat. Brainiac is a cosmic threat who has destroyed entire planets. This game is the equivalent of having The Sinister Six go up against Thanos

I noticed in the Argus Recordings how often the league members call Superman "Kal" and not "Clark." Something so small yet proves how little actually know/care about the characters.
They only use real names in private. Superman & Batman alone or with W. Woman... When in public they always use their superhero names except WW that tends to call Superman Kal-El (which isn't his real name to himself).
It kinda shows how close the league was with each other also the world already knows their real names because how Louis lane knew Bruce Wayne was Batman

You raised a good point with the Green lantern corps. Where ARE the other DC Heroes? Where's Supergirl? Powergirl? Green Arrow? The Teen Titans? Young Justice? The Justice SOCIETY (who counts among its members Dr. Fate, who has legitimate magical powers that could probably be useful against Superman). Zatanna? The other FLashes? Where the hell IS everyone? Why are we stuck dealing with these chucklefucks when there are literally dozens if not hundreds of other heroes running around that could be useful?
Darkseid probably a better villain for this kind of thing, he has a whole army and general you can use as excuse to keep other heroes busy but instead, they decided to use Brainiac who only attack this one city...

Lots of boss fights as we take down Captain Cold/Mr Freeze to get freeze tech to fight and stop Flash. Then Sinestro/Scarecrow to get fear tech to stop Green Lantern. Then Lex for Kryponite, and some other villains for Wonder Woman and then we fight and SAVE them.
Then in a surprise 3rd act game twist we play AS some Justice League members and take down Brainiac.
Waaaaaaay better game than this.

This deadshots version is so stupid, making us believe that there were 2 deadshots running around the arkhamverse and Batman (worlds greatest detective by the way) wouldn't realize that the deadshot he's fighting is the fake one??? And he never mentions it at all throughout the series? Yeah, no, this is just a lazy way for them to forcefully race swap a character that didn't need it at all. So stupid fr.
Im pretty sure they even say in Arkham that the Deadshot there is a 99% DNA match, meaning Batman KNOWS there are potential copycats and specifically checked to see if it was actually him.

Deathstroke was the first member of the suicide squad in Arkham after origins. But because he didn't match the 2016 movies popular roster, that was conveniently forgotten.
The game fundementally does not understand what suicide squad is about. It's literally a bunch of C and D tier expendable villains (at best) being thrown by the goverment into shady missions that are very dangerous but overall not trully Earth shaking important, that tend to be way above everyones weight class.
The result is that you have situations where members of the main cast can and WILL die left right and center, to stuff that the most well known characters could simply walk off, without affecting the plot of the overall universe.
This is the overall appeal of the squad (atleast to me), that at the end of the day they are a bunch of nobodies that noone will miss, being thrown as cannon fodder to deal with and be killed by stuff your average super hero can deal with on their most normal days. While at the same time dealing with this situation in different ways.
Throwing them against threats like Brainiac or a Justice League that is will to kill? Nah, they would get bodied instantly or at best, used as a distraction to buy a few minutes for the real help can make a difference.
It's ironic how they commited the same exact mistakes the first suicide squad movie commited, only to have james gunn fixing their mess, the exact guy they were attempting to copy
Assault on Arkham animated movie showed exactly that.
They're supposed to get into Arkham, get Riddler's storage (plus one secret mission), get out. Complication, named Batman, happened and it hit the fan.
Pretty fun movie.
It's called Su*cide Squad because they get sent on su*cide missions.
They get sent in because they're expendable. Not because these psychos (who, let's remember, always get their butts kicked by super heroes) are some kind of elite force who are the only ones that can pull off these missions.
It's supposed to be a win-win. If they accomplish the mission, great. If they fail, then a bunch of insane criminals are dead, so also great.
The writers watched Guardians of the Galaxy and thought “oh let’s just do that” but with none of the likable characters, humor, or well written plot.
The fact they are underpowered and that anyone can die is a major part of why they are called the Suicide Squad.
They really brought back my favorite Green Lantern, made Deadshot black, just so we could have some black on black gun violence.

Superman isn't stupid. He wouldn't insist the entire League walks into an obvious trap with no plan like that. He's a good guy, that doesn't mean he's an idiot.
Even if he did, Batman would just say no. We've seen Batman leave the Justice League before when he thought they were making a mistake, he'd do so again with this.
And why would the Justice League need to be the people welcoming Brainiac to Earth anyway? They're not a government agency. This is a job for civilian diplomats and scientists, not superheroes.

The UI makes me sick and I played ultrakill,the story is wack,the gameplay is fun for like 2 hours thanks to the lack of enemy variety,the only fine thing about this game is the customization(the skins,not the skills,all the 4 characters are the same thing).
If it is really that good it should survive criticism no problem,tho the number of players tells is not

Listening to ARGUS tapes legit made me almost pop a blood vessel. Superman isn't some naive boy scout who believes there's goodness in everyone. He's got a good heart but he will admit when a situation is out of his depth. That's why he asks Batman for advice on certain situations, like *this one* And GL wouldn't have agreed with Clark's asinine plan of "lets hear Brainiac out" John is a military man, he would've gotten a hold of local authorities, government agencies, hell he would've gotten a hold of several of his fellow Green Lanterns in case things got dicey. John isn't the first Green Lantern in the DC canon, Hal Jordan was. He could've contacted Hal or all three of the Earth Green Lanterns: Hal, Guy Gardner and Kyle Rayner. Also, why didn't Batman question why Superman was so willing to hear out Brainiac? Batman is always 10 steps ahead and he would assume Superman must be under some kind of mind control and knowing the Batman from the comics, he has to have Kryptonite on his belt. Have Batman pass it to Wonder Woman while he makes Superman think he's going along with the plan, have Wonder Woman pull out the Kryptonite and knock out Superman. Boom, problem solved.
And with that I put more effort in storytelling than these glue sniffing morons who call themselves writers.

It's kinda funny how a lot of people debate Batman's plot armor and dunk on Batman deserving to be killed in this game, yet the squad here is literally on the Nth Metal levels of plot armor.
It's funny because, unlike the Suicide Squad, Batman being alive throughout the Arkham games can easily be explained and remain consistent.

It’s fitting because at that moment Batman finally woke up from the REAL brainwashing that was affecting our once beloved heroes… is that Rocksteady has died, the name might still be used but the studio that gave us Arkham is gone, that their legacy has now become a bad joke… how fitting really. So Batman in his final moments goes ahead and tells a joke, that the story of this game and it’s intentions is nothing more than a joke that’s dead on arrival.

Also, as a black man, I'm tired of these studios linking by changing the race of one of their characters. They get brownie points No, you get no brownie points, storywise it makes no damn sense, nor should it matter that your character is black. If the character has been white the whole time and at the point, even captain boomerang is wondering which you know he's not exactly the sharpest spoon in the shed. Is clearly wondering why the character is black. Maybe just maybe it is a bad omen of things to come from an already rotting Fattered feces of a game. This whole game was basically a third on the face of DC. I'd rather have an entire game about the Riddler there. I said it it hurt me to say.
They have so little faith in their own subpar story that they already left a reset button on standby by introducing the tired multiverse gimmick.
Fun Fact: Thanks to the comics we know that the other Deadshot had a family and a daughter, which implies that this new "Cool and Badass" Deadshot has just orphaned a girl who, if I remember correctly, loved his dad a lot, " Cool" right?

My thing is if Barry Allen is faster than time and light as they state in the game why didn’t he run back in time and just stop the justice league from entering the ship in the first place instead he spends three weeks running around, doing nothing not looking for weaknesses not recruiting others for help not going into the Batcave for the contingency plans just running around for three weeks straight

One story idea could be to just block him from time/space travel (using the speedforce) via some "bad guy has a weapon/ability which is affecting the speedforce". This idea could keep him super fast, still allow him to be affected by brain control, but also nerf him enough to be reasonably beaten by the suicide squad (who can then use/stack another anti-speed force tool/weapon).
I totally could buy that GL or Superman could give Barry a challenge, but there is no reason he couldn't have just grabbed evil Batman and put him in the speed force instantly. Then Barry and WW could have taken on GL and Superman. I'm pretty sure Barry could have taken GL and removed his ring and put him in the speed force too.

Hear me out, but the worst story decision this game makes is turning the justice league into villains. I know so many stories try to do this, but part of what makes these characters so likeable is their strong sense of justice. Mind controlling these characters to be evil just completely betrays who they are. I feel like several of them should have the will-power to overcome mind control, it's actually green lanterns super power. Batman shouldn't kill, its his biggest personality trait. The death of his parents sent him into depressive state for years of his life, so Batman doesn't kill as he never wants anyone to experience his trauma. You'd think decades of trauma might be enough to break his mind control after Batman kills someone.
True, even the justice Lords from justice league unlimited had at least one member snap out of it, that in this case being batman, and he dies as a result of it (and who kills him? Justice Lord wonder woman)

I think one of the most moronic decisions was making this the arkhamverse, not for marketing, it wasn't bad for that, but more for the outlook on the game.
They catered this game towards a playerbase that LOVES Batman to death, a.k.a anyone who follows Rocksteady games, and had those same players sit through a scene of Batman being shot on a park bench.
You know, the character they spent years playing as, developing and growing attached to.
They had to have known there'd be a negative response.
What I think that happened here is, the higher ups at WB told the writers to set this in the arkhamverse to get more sales, but it backfired because the writers hated/didn't care about the characters
the good part is that the OG team for the Arkham series quit when they saw this was going to be the game releasing

So this video proves that the ENTIRETY of the story is logically impossible to happen, which also proves that they never cared about anything story-wise, to begin with. This game was meant to be gameplay-only - which is totally fine - but they decided to add a story without thinking about it at all.

My entire problem with this game initially starts with the ROSTER. This is NOT an anti-JL team. It’s a team meant to do the govs dirty work and the type of missions that literally even metas would struggle against. If anything the game should have been Legion of Doom kills the JL.
Or pick actual metas that have been on the team, there’s like 20 years worth of roster to choose from, pick the baddies would could actually make some sense. Shoot Captain Boomerang literally has a son who has short range super speed. Or Jog who is another speedster with short burst. Or Daniel West, a speedster with a bad knee that limits his range.

Batman was *done* after that, and Bane went as far as to keep beating him after it too, and guess what? It actually took some real time for Batman to recover.

something i am confused, why are they trying to make Brainiac have a sympathetic motivation? He wouldn't give a single fuck about his planet. He just collects chunks of worlds to preserve their information/knowledge. he literally wants to collect every planet he deems valuable because of their culture and technology. He would never try to rebuild his planet if it was destroyed, why? because he blows planets often. He literally left Colu to do as he pleased, so the main Brainiac is not sentimental towards his people.

We need a fan mod called Justice League: Kill the Suicide Squad, in which you pick any of the Justice League heroes and beat the crap out of the Suicide Squad. If you choose Batman, you play with the Arkham games' mechanics. If you choose The Flash, everyone else moves in ultra slow motion. If you play as Superman, you fly around and laser them.
Stop me if I'm wrong but... isn't green kryptonite legit THE main weakness for Superman apart from red sun radiations? And isn't the kryptonite emitting enough radiations on its own to weaken/make Superman sick in a couple of meters' radius? A single shard of green kryptonite is seen to bring him to his knees in canon, why isn't a WHOLE ASS EAGLE DESIGN on a shield not enough to make him unable to stand??

@@_Arakiel There was almost no "plot armor" he was just a peak human with years of experience, mastery of every fighting form, and the highest IQ possible while being rich. I don't find it a big stretch narratively that makes you question him considering all that he's capable of... As a hero shown through the comics and other shows, people just say "He's Batman" and so he's expected to be near superhuman. The same can't be said for these guys though, THAT is plot armor, it would have been one thing to establish the things that they gained to fight the Justice League, but nope, they are just given it and they somehow expect us to believe it would be possible by just shooting them enough times. This game is laughable.
@@_Arakiel There were instances of plot armor in those games but no where near as prevalent or dumb as SSKTJL. Suspension of disbelief isn't when you ignore bad writing, it's when you accept the rules of a world of a fictional story, like Star Wars having light sabers or The Force even though they defy the laws of physics because the world of Star Wars just functions differently compared to ours.
Seems that every time someone tries to do anything "suicide squad" it turns out to be hot ass.... get out of hell was the best thing suicide squad, and it was my least favorite animated movie...

Apparently the comic where Shark kills Zazz apparently had some sort of ‘Battle Royale’ where the inmates of Arkham who survived were in the task force. Which 1) confusing because there were other Task Forces? 2) why are they still in prison cells with no bruises or scars from being hurt? Good god.
If Brainiac is so smart and has access to the multiverse why doesn’t he just go to another universe where his home planet still stands instead of going to the effort of terraforming earth?
Only thing I can think of is him encountering another version of him, which will then fall apart as he could just find one where there isn’t another version of him

I think if this game should have been a Batman based game rather than a Suicide Squad game. Here's my idea.
When the Justice League is invited to the ship and mind controlled, Batman is the first to snap out of it due to his experience under similar mind control devices like Scarecrow's fear toxin. He would then escape to the Batcave and gather the rest of the Bat-Family to help stop the Justice League by using the BABEL protocols. These protocols would also come in the form of new upgrades to his suit like a speed generator to fight Flash or a yellow lantern ring to fight John but nothing to crazy. In his quest, he meets the Suicide Squad and Waller who want to kill the League as the League is too dangerous. Bruce refuses since they are his friends and because he regrets killing Joker. As for the rest of the family, they are playable as well as they will help evacuate civilians, help figure out how to deactivate mind control and even stop a few teen titans members who have also fallen under Brainiac's control. There could even be a subplot about how the rest of the Bat Family want to step up more but struggle to handle his legacy. It could even be revealed that maybe when Bruce faked his own death, he had actually planned to leave Gotham and spend a happy life with Selena but was afraid of what would happen Gotham and the Bat Family if he left, leading to the Bat Family feeling guilty for preventing Bruce for living his own life.
Eventually, after defeating the League, Batman confronts Brainiac, who tries to mind control him again. Bruce is then transported to an illusion where his parents are alive and he is married to Selina. However, he snaps out of it when he realizes its a dream. However, just when he is about to defeat Brainiac, Brainiac starts laughing manically and calls Bruce "Batsy." Brainiac's eyes start to glow green and his face turns into that of the Joker.
Joker reveals that, when Brainiac tried to take over Batman's mind, he accidently freed Joker from Batman's mind and caused Joker to take over Brainiac's mind. Joker wants a run back to try to get Batman to turn into a killer as Joker sees the whole Titan incident as Batman killing by accident. So, Joker enacts what he calls his, "final joke," in which he mind controls all of Batman's villains to reek havoc on the world. Joker sends Batman back to the Batcave in order to be prepared to "let him prepare before the big show."
Batman explains the whole thing to the Bat family and the Justice League as more of Batman's villains destroy the Justice League's home cities. The League explains that when Brainiac took over their minds, he also found out about all of their weaknesses due to study. This means the only person able to stop Joker is Batman since Brainiac's mind control tech failed on him so Brainiac wasn't able to study him. Batman comes up with a plan but will need the League's help with it. The Bat Family first helps the respective League member defeat one of his rogues in the member's repsective city and gathers the respective materials needed for Batman's plan. However, Joker reveals that he expected this and that the final joke isn't the villains but rather Batman himself. Joker plans to use Brainiac's weapons to destroy the world unless Batman stops him.
After all is done, Batman reveals that he is going to fight Joker since he knows Joker best and because Brainiac doesn't have any files on Batman's weaknesses. Superman comes in to reveal that he finished forging Batman's new suit: the Hellbat.
Batman uses the Hellbat to confront Joker Brainiac, and the two fight. Joker gains the upperhand since he knows Batman's fighting patterns. When all is lost, Batman gets knocked out but a vision of his parents appears before him. They tell him that they are proud of him and want him to keep fighting. Just when Joker is about destroy the world, Batman gets up and punches him in the face. The onsuing battle leads them to get teleported across the whole world, finally landing in Arkham City during a massive rainstorm. Disconnected from Brainiac's technology on the ship, Joker is just an ordinary man smiliar to Batman. In addition, the Hellbat armor gets destroyed during the ensuing battle. Batman and Joker decide to finish the fight mano a mano. During the fight, the player gets quicktime events with a quote under it similarly like the finall battle in Tekken 8. Each dialouge comes with a flashback to events in the previous game, with the last quote being "I am..." with Bruce saying "I am BATMAN." Batman defeats Joker and is able to disable the weapon without killing him, ending the conflict.
Eventually, when all of the game's events are done, Bruce realizes that Gotham is in safe hands and that his family is grown up. He gives Nightwing his blessing to remain to be Batman. He apologizes to Jason about how Bruce left him with Joker and how proud Bruce was that Jason helped people in his absence. He thanks Tim and Barbara for sticking be him even at his lowest. He says goodbye to Alfred and thanks him for being his father when no one else was there. He maybe even goes to Joker before he is sent off to the Phantom Zone, stating that he did not like Joker's methods but Joker is one of the biggest reasons that Batman has evolved from a crime fight to a symbol. Joker then tells Bruce that they'll meet someday again and for him to be ready before disappearing with a chilling echo of laughter. He then asks Diana and Clark to look after the Bat Family while he starts a new life with Selena.
We cut to a year later to a Bruce overlooking a large city on a rooftop at night. Selena comes by and jokes that Bruce is reliving the old days. Bruce states that the old days were fun, and there is nothing he would trade them for. However, he looks forward to a new horizon, with the screen panning to a very pregnant Selena.
The two overlook the city one last time before the camera goes up to the night sky full of stars with the screen reading this,
"Thank you Kevin for everything and more"
Sorry this is so long. I just had a lot to say in this area and I don't blame you for not reading it all. Anyway I hope you guys enjoyed my take on it.
