Thanks again for making my break into sim racing a breeze. Ive already passed along the advice and your referral code to my buddy who has just bought the same Cammus bundle I did. When the time comes for a shifter and better pedals, we know where to look! Cheers from Seattle
That's cool, and so easy. It indeed looks like it was designed to be folded, but maybe they don't want to canibilize their other folding rigs too badly.
Imagine having a "Murphy Bed" style enclosure that fits this sim rig. Cuz everything is tubular, you can make PVC pipe clasp to hold the components in place. Hot glue a velcro pouch to the back of the chair to hold all screws or wrenches.
Thank you. Mines is coming today... needed an upgrade from the playseat challenge. Have the little ones around, so i need to hide my rig when im done playing 😅. You are the best with the cockpit reviews. Nobody comes close. Really appreciate the mod tip.
Not many reviews on this unit. I appreciate you not only taking the time out to do the review but also to share the modding process. Channel describes more subs!
Hi Karl, I noticed when you were lifting it up that if you had two HD hooks in the wall, you could just hang it from the seat end of the frame, that would make it super compact👍
What a gem mate. As yesterday by your recommendation I decided to go for Omega Sprint Chair, you just uploaded this video. Happy I didn’t buy it yet, I guess I will never finish my setup if you keep dropping this great videos lol.
Same boat! This versatility mod was just what I needed to justify to myself paying +50% over the Sprint. Every inch counts in my small apt, but Victory's narrow footprint means I could viably deploy this inside my closet where the Sprint could only be stowed, and I won't have to fuss about with latches like I'm boarding a carnival ride! Plus, aesthetically, there's a value in its absence of visual clutter, in contrast to the bricolage of the Sprint. Apologies to anyone I've offended by citing Imperial units there! 🤷🏻♂️
Thanks to your video I just bought this rig.. It’s my first rig and I needed something that folds to store away and wanted something a bit sturdier than a folding seat. This is perfect for me
I have mine arriving tomorrow and hoping it’ll fit alright in my bedroom closet as demo’d in this clip. I currently have the GT Lite which is great and very foldable (if you have the patience to figure out how to get it compact like in the boxed documents) however-the seat has a very small sweet spot and if I’m not perfectly there, I start to get uncomfortable after 45 minutes and or my left foot goes a little numb in two toes. Hardly ideal. Also the GT Lite has literally tried to kill me. I cannot fold or unfold after two weeks of use, without getting crushed, smashed, scraped, bruised or cut in some capacity. Thanks for the reviews!
I was hesitant on the cockpit because of the space. Then blam, you come out with the ability to fold it. This video here is the only reason I want this cockpit now!
Fantastic video, Karl. I wish this rig had been available when I bought my first one five years ago. Kudos to NLR for improving their product line. Now they can work on the naming!
Wow this is actually such a simple solution to make a foldable cockpit out of this, I wonder if 'traditional' foldable cockpits that we had before (the ones that look a bit like beach chairs) become obsolete if we have this 🤔
nLR came out earlier with wheel stand lite 2.0 (sans the seat) and it does fold this way. That wheel stand is paired with an upcoming victory seat add on that essentially will make lt look like this rig.
If someone made a strap for the seat and wheel deck with a couple of backpack buckles to secure the folding action. It would only add seconds to the folding process but would be completely secure!
Thanks, this is exactly what i was thinking while watching your previous video! I need to put the folded rig vertical (CSL DD on Playseat Challenge at the moment) and I think I could make this work. I would add some reinforcement "arms" to keep those steering pillars stable when I play. Now I am really undecided between this one and the GT Omega Sprint you reviewed the other day. Both seem to be good, this one probably is a better fit for the pedals and looks nice, the GT Omega seems very comfortable and obviously it is made to be foldable. Your advice? Thanks!
Set up a buymeacoffee or something. This was golden. Really appreciate you sharing this. I've been gearing up to start sim racing and your content has made it a breeze 🍻
Appreciate that thanks mate! There should be a "Super Thanks" you can use which allows a donation or I do have a PayPal donation link right at the bottom of the description.
Hey Karl. Your videos have been my go to's for all my sim racing needs lately. Glad to have found your videos. Would you think there's a possibility to mount a different seat to this chair since it seems like it's just on a sliding bracket?
Hi Karl this looks easier than the playseat even! And better? On the folding, if you lowered the wheel stand to the back, folded the seat down, could you then bring the wheel stand back over the top of the seat? That would bring all the weight to the base and maybe it would stand up on its own accord?
These guys should hire you. I can't believe they didn't think to add these features to the out of box product. Costs next to nothing and makes it infinitely more marketable.
Karl good video as normal from you, you mentioned about swapping the top tubular assembly around and said it could not be done because of the bolts that go through it to adjust the height, but what if you turned the whole thing around from the bottom where you have put in the thumb screws, the white section, surely it would work then?
Karl, thanks for selling me on this unit. The "foldable" version is precisely what I'm looking for. My question is, what is the peak height of the unit when folded horizontally (it looks like the chair portion is the tallest)? Sounds lazy, but I think I might be able to slide this under my guest bed that's close to my desk and be completely out of sight.
Big fan of your videos Karl, im looking to get my sim setup back going in the new year after moving out, and this rig is definitely a front runner. As for monitor stand solutions, what would you recommend, as i worry my desk would be too high and the rig obviously doesnt come with one? An independent stand would also pose an issue with a lack of places for a keyboard and mouse which i would need to play other games that arent sim racing based
Hey Karl... Now watching this update you have given me a predicament for a folding rig. Your tweeks to this rig, or the GT Omega sprint folding. Which one is the sturdiest version for my rallying enjoyment? Again fantabulous content, and see you on EA Sports WRC when you want to drive a Mk 2 Escort :)
And from @6:09 - is it just me? Sorry if I offended it's just the cheeky 1970s UK slapstick - 😜 Sorry @6:21 the wife is asking me what I'm giggling at ( I have headphones on) in the corner on the PC. Chap you earn massive XP points this has moved into the "Pure Class comedic " category.
Im looking into getting a rig and its your videos i use to get my feedback on products, great reviews. Would you pick this rig over your usual recommendation of the gt omega art for a starting rig?
The ART has more adjustment, accessories and many seat options but it's more money... so really depends on your budget and what else you might want to add on.
I havn't got room for a full rig. Using a NLR Gt lite at the mo. and its great. By this look a fair bit better. Stacking it vertical what is the height from top to bottom with CSL
Which would you recommend between this and the GT Omega Sprint for mostly rallying? They both look relatively sturdy from your vids for circuit racing but I'd imagine rally is a lot more intense on the rig. Been watching your reviews for the past couple months as I look to step into the world of sim racing, thanks for all the informative vids! 👍
I have an RSEAT B1 and love it but it's a TANK!. I need more space for my mancave, so I was looking around and all those foldable rigs are missing something crucial, like the seat is crap, no accessories or no ButtKicker attachment, which are all deal breakers. This one solves a lot of those issues, but 2 mayor concerns though: 1). Way to low to the ground. If you have a triple screen stand, your screens gonna be high.. right?... 2). Where's the hand brake plate?.... plate for only one shifter?... no options for more accessories?... Nitpicking: Seat looks a bit uncomfortable for long sessions (easy fix by lumbar pillow) but no adjustments?... That being said for $299 and free shipping, this is unbelievable!. Of course, if you have 15-20NT force this will not cut it I think, it's prob gonna shake and dance the macarena at the slightest bump. It seems ButtKicker can be placed anywhere, judging by the size of those tubes. I am very tempted but man that rig is low.
@@KarlGosling Every triple stand I've seen (and mine) doesn't go that low, even for my RSEAT it's still high... or is it myb it's just a camera lens perception on my part on how low that cockpit is to the ground(?). So only one shifter plate then?.. Dang it!, They almost had me. I need my handbrake. Thanks! Gos for the info.
Hi Karl. Where I live it’s very tight for space. So my Playseat challenge fits in a tight space in a cupboard and that’s the only place it can go. So my question is what’s the dimensions of this when folded up? Really appreciate the reviews mate! All the best.
Bloody brilliant video Karl, and nice to see you are keeping your flaps in good order. This or the GT Sprint? Pros and Cons? Keep up the great work! 💪💪💪
I preordered from Amazon 21st November for despatch today 30th November. It now says arriving 27 January - 9 June! I have a Thrustmaster T598 arriving next week, what do I do? :(
Oh wow! I'd check if there's stock anywhere else and cancel the Amazon order mate, it could be an error but I have no idea how Amazon processes this sort of thing.
Do NOT get the lever style screws that he recommends in this video, they are too long and hit the frame and you will not be able to tighten them. Stick with the thumb screws.

Imstead of standing it up wouldnt it be better to just throw a hook in a stud and hang it in your closet or something?

Two linear rails splitting the seat section would make it even more compact, i don't know why nobody does that.
