Imagine having the ability to do this if its so easy but choosing not to make a similar product. You could make it cheaper and the competition would have to lower prices to compete with you. Eventually you could make enough money to start your own company. But as it is people just say its overpriced yet still being one of the cheapest to have its features.
For 999 I think it’s overpriced. you can build it yourself including a nice seat for around 600/700. In Europe we have a company called motedis and they offer diy rig’s starting at 350-400 (without seat but with tripple monitor mount). I would stay away from NXL, Sim-Lab, etc if you want the same quality but without the brand tax.
I'm currently making this rig out of free wood, and I'll be using the passenger seat from my e46 bmw lol. I just need to buy bolts essentially. It'll also have full adjustability.
I’ve got this sim racing cockpit, but mine is the Ferrari Scuderia edition. Absolutely love it. It makes it better that I got it brand new, in box for $340.
As far as I can tell, structurally it's the same as the F-GT Elite, just with thicker aluminum profiles. From my experience with F-GT Elite, the pedal deck coupling with the slanted pillars limits the adjustability a lot in seating position, if you are too short or too tall, you'll have to end up somewhere in the hybrid range and won't be able to switch seating positions. That said, it's still a very good, strong, and nice-looking rig, highly recommended, the F-GT Elite 160 edition should only be better. I'd have bought this instead if they had released it a few months earlier, the price is only $200 more. (If you buy directly from their own website, the price is actually the same as the non-160 edition, which is wild.)
The problem with this cockpit is that they didn't find a way for it to change easily positions. In the end this is not a cockpit for a person that likes changing to Formula and GT positions because i don't care how devoted you are is just too much of a hassle to change positions. This is more for a person that is not sure what position he wants and this cockpit will be more probable to give him one that he will be fine with or at best a person that like playing a certain Formula racing for a certain time and then another for another certain time which means they change position only once every few months. Other than that the seat seems cool and well priced(don't know how long lasting it is before it starts tearing etc) and the mounting plate for wheels bases is probably from the best in terms of compatibility with lots of wheel bases if what most reviewers said is true.
Everything is expensive and subjective. I just paid $7k for 90 feet of fencing in my backyard. If you can’t afford this right now, there are many lower priced alternatives from NLR. I started with the wheel stand 2.0 and an Xbox and had a lot of fun with my simcade setup, but if you want to play with the big boys, you’re going to have to shell out the cash or learn how to extrude, anodized and mill your own aluminum as well as design the rig. Some people have that kind of talent. I don’t, so I shelled out the big bucks for my dream rig that I’ll acquire a little at a time. Let me tell you what’s really expensive, slot cars and R/C racing.
Hello, I'm trying to figure out if I can mount the 3RS3 to my 6-Sigma 6s-slim cockpit chassis. Could you tell me the dimensions of the slider mechanism on chair? Thanks in Advance!!
Bought my 16040 rig without a seat for 660€ including taxes, and then it was about 70€ for the shipping, so a bit cheaper. But it’s not black and the pedal plate adjustment is even slower, so that could explain some of the difference in price. And it’s in Europe and not North America.
i was hopping to get a comparison to the gt elite since it is the only one available in my region is there a huge difference between them after you get the ELITE FORMULA UPGRADE KIT?
The formula seating position at 6:50 doesn't look very right, especially on the arms. I think the wheel is too far away from you and you end having arms bent more than 90 degrees (they look around 110-120). Of course I understand that simulates a formula seat, but that angle will cause arm, neck and shoulders strain in my opinion. I guess it was for the sake of testing different seating positions and readjusting the rig every time for the purpose of the video would have been a little bit annoying haha The wheel should be much closer to you so the arms will be naturally closer to you similar to a 90 degree angle.
I’m reviewing this thing, here’s my discount code. All I needed to hear to know your words are sus. Plus $1000 for $300 max of 320 aluminum rails. You could have the aluminum cut to length, buy a tap and dye kit, and some bolts, and still not have $400 in it. I built mine for $300 but already have the tools. A company more than doubling its profit on something so easy to manufacture is a bit of a scam.
This is not good value at all. People need to realize that 4080 profile is all that’s necessary. These 40160 and 40120 rigs are overbuilt af. I run a 23nm wheelbase and 200kg load cell pedals on my 4080 rig along with a qubic motion system and have no flex at all anywhere. The weak point is never the profile. It’s the corner brackets, hardware, pedal tray or wheel deck. All of which can easily be replaced or reinforced as needed for way less than the cost of this. 4080 rigs are often $500usd or less. Compared to usually over $1000usd for one of these needlessly heavy rigs with extra unnecessary material that will just slow down a motion system unnecessarily.
