Today's word - prescient......... another lovely edit with such a great balance between content and creative editing plus some real tension 1/ Timing the pizza on Andrews watch... 2/ "Oh my god you've broken the pole" (i would have to take slight issue with the claim to be "covered in mud" but we can let that slide AKA mud-slide) ....... anyway, the real reason for this is to thank you Kris and the gradually more voluble and present Andrew for a year of utter boating bliss. The county of Rugby should award you some kind of gong for services to tourism and the good Burghers of Braunston should be rightly proud of your efforts to elevate the humble town to international status. Wishing you both (and the cat) a wonderful Kristmas (sorry had to ) and a great new year. Your efforts are hugely appreciated and the time and trouble you go to is truly worth it in terms of lightening the mood of the viewers who share your adventures vicariously - take care and we all look foward to what jolly japes 2024 delivers....
Can’t tell you how much we look forward to your comments!!! An absolute highlight of the whole video posting process for me, honestly. Thanks so much. Merry Christmas to you and yours and a very Happy New Year 🎉🎊🍾
@@krisatomic if you watch the bow as you steer you can balance the tendency of the boat with some fixed tiller input. It's easier to demonstrate than describe though! The boat may pull to the side slightly, but only one side! Just correct it with a little opposite tiller and you're good to go.
We’re slowly working through your video back catalogue, it’s a bit like discovering a band & realising there’s a whole amazing discography. If you thought the water cap was good wait for the shopping trolley lol. But also really enjoying the beautiful scenery b roll, you both have an eye for it. Late to the scene but keep it up! Scott
Wow, Andrew is such a good man. The idea of seeing a smile on someone’s face based on something he can do is enough to do it. Really wish there were more people like him in the world. Seriously, guys a legend
Buy a narrow boat they said, it’ll be fun they said…holy moly! I can honestly say this probably was a lot more fun for me watching it than you guys living it. All in all though, no one got hurt, nothing was lost. Bent your pole but did a good deed recovering Jay’s missing trolley. Karma will even things out and you two will be on the winning side. Plus there’s Jay! Be well.✨
I'm always excited when one of your offerings pops up. Sometimes I start it and pause, go fix a great cup of coffee and a snack and enjoy the ride. You have such a gift of photographing things I love and it becomes a relaxing meditative experience right here in my den. What a treat! Can't really thank you enough! I think you are a kind of therapist, and so affordable, tee hee! Enjoy yourselves!
OMG If I didn’t already love your videos enough, this put me over the edge. This was epic! I have to say Kris you were so calm cool and collected. Great handling of the boat. From going through the locks, to “ramming” the boat….the one that was across the canal that is 😂, to mooring at the marina 🤩 🏅 Andrew was absolutely hysterical. The pizza countdown, the filming while nudging the boat and then the shopping trolley happened. He went from 0-60 all for Jay!!! I hope to heck that Jay sees this video and appreciates the struggle, the broken pole, you and Matilda both needing wine 🍷 while trying to absorb this. I ended up watching this twice and literally laughing/crying at…or with 🤔 ….Andrew. I hope that you get Andrew a special “pull things of all shapes and sizes out of the canal” gadget for Christmas. It makes him so happy. 😊 Through it all Kris, you were the Captain! 👏🏼 Thank you both so much, this absolutely made my day. Brilliant filming and editing. PS Glad your swans were there waiting for you, 😊🤗 Kathy
Thanks so much for your lovely comment Kathy!!! I love hearing which bits of the videos people like or find funny 😅😂 have a lovely rest of the weekend and Happy Holidays from us all (Matilda included) ❤️❤️❤️
I'm tucking into my Crimbo kebab in Bugbrooke & there you are enjoying June... & in particular June's shopping trollies Drat.... Merry Crimbo bothlies !!
Always entertaining! Loved the use of split screen/double commentary for the trolley drama 😄 I bet the Braunston Bugle was buzzing last summer and I'm looking forward to The Return of The Trolley episode. Merry Christmas to both of you and may 2024 provide another happy boating year. I'd say with less drama, but I sort of like seeing it, so... you know... whatever transpires... good luck.
Merry Christmas. Your vlogs have been amazing this year. Looking forward to watching you next year. You seem to capture everything brilliantly. Cheers 🎄🎄
There are good days, and then...there are more of 'em. Thanks for this whimsical reminder of gentle summer days with just a dash of drama. Trolley Rescuers Inc. ATB !!
What a lovely Christmas present 🎁 love your vlogs ❤️ makes my day always looking forward to next one have a great Christmas 🎄 to you both and matilda xx
I conclude that it's just not worth it unless you’re a little bit bonkers 🤓 Thanks for the light entertainment, much appreciated. Also… beautiful photography, wonderfully put together. Right up there with Martijn Doolard for the capturing of the slow life.
I’m happy this video was made in the warmer months. It’s now Christmas and I’m cold! 🤣. Thank you for your no nonsense video. Merry Christmas and I’m going to buy my husband some suspenders!!! Thank you 🙏 Did I say, I think y’all are funny and entertaining? My husband would have pulled the trolley out as well! 😂
We really look forward to your vlogs! We love how you capture nature around you. We were a little surprised you all didn't moor up the loose boat. It would have been the neighborly thing to do. Anyway, we hope you have a wonderful Christmas! Lin and Kathy
Ahh I know, I cut out a bunch of us debating whether we could tie it up, but it was a weird spot to pull up in front of because it looked kind of demolished and there were massive obstructions under the water. It didn’t look very safe and I didn’t feel like I could pull it off in the moment. In a normal towpath situation we would have tied it up no problem. We did feel really bad!! Happy Christmas to you both 🎄❤️
I feel sorry for boaters today there so many boats using the canals and rivers. The wonderful peace we experienced seems very rare on the canals these days .So many 60,70 foot narrow boats taking up so much of the tow paths. And video after video much the same. Mind you videos of river cruises much more interesting with the twists and turns and flowing water. On the canal videos I don't see any fishermen, no wonder. When we cruised every few yards we would hear watervoles plop into the water as we cruised by.I bet you don't hear that now. We cruised the Midlands canals and then onto the Nene and the Fenland rivers .Only saw few narrow boats (nice ones from Foxes yard at March.)After 50 years of cruising we are permanent landlubbers now.
Hey Shirley, thanks for your comment! Absolutely no need to feel sorry for us, we’re very happy to be here ☺️ sure there are busy spots during the peak summer period, but there’s absolutely no shortage of peace (or fishermen!). If anything, not enough boats means the canals get silted up and eventually become impossible to navigate so busy is no bad thing. Amazing that you were cruising for 50 years, you must have some great stories to tell. Take care 🌸
Hi Both, I just wanted to say how hugely disappointed We were that you made no attempt to re tie the wayward boat. It is really poor boaters etiquette. What if it had been your boat that had come adrift whilst you were away, wouldn’t you want someone else to re secure it in your absence? To say there was no where to stop is just an excuse, you could have hovered in the canal whilst your partner re secured the boat as you demonstrated waiting for the lock earlier in the vlog. Time is not an excuse, please try to remember to help out fellow boaters along your journey as you yourself may need help from others one day.
Can’t believe you didn’t tie the loose boat up because you didn’t have time yet found the time to fish a shopping trolley out. Disgraceful behaviour for ‘responsible’ boaters
Disappointed you weren't responsible boaters and tied that loose boat up but left it potentially for someone else to hit in the gloom. There was tons of room on that pontoon to pull over to rescue it. Yet you had time to stop on a whim to fish a trolley out for a laugh
Fair enough! There’s a bunch of rocks just under the waterline so it wasn’t quite that simple to pull in on that side. It was a case of quickly weighing up a lot of factors (it was late, we were still an hour away from the marina, it was attached to a boat yard - it wasn’t a boat that was just loose in the middle of nowhere), but ultimately I had to make a quick decision as I was steering the boat. The trolley was just around the corner from the marina, so we knew we’d basically made it by that point. No regrets about that. Thanks for the comment and Happy Holidays!

Kris is the only boat handler we've seen who swings the tiller wildly while on a straight course!
Hahaha I can’t believe someone has finally noticed! If you just hold it straight it veers off to the side, I swear!

I'm crying over Andrew's total focus on the pizza. "Sadly we cannot moor the boat because we cant stop safely and ALSO THE PIZZA!!"
😅😅😅
Wow, Andrew is such a good man. The idea of seeing a smile on someone’s face based on something he can do is enough to do it. Really wish there were more people like him in the world. Seriously, guys a legend
From West Chester, OH - I can’t tell you how hard I laughed over “The Shopping Trolley Rescue” segment! Well done you both!
Gawd I find this channel so relaxing. Thank you for creating this glorious content.♥
This is was a delight to watch.
Thank you 🥰🥰🥰

Well done for handling the loose boat! "Narrow boating is not a contact sport"..famous quote! 😂😂😂
Was looking forward to your next vlog! Only your camera work can make fishing a trolley from a canal look so stylish! Merry Christmas to you both.
Thanks so much, so nice to hear that! Merry Christmas!
just wondering how many times I've enjoyed the giggles of the shopping cart in the canal and subsequent rescue of same cart!!!
😊😊😊
You received a price for bumper (narrow boat) cars. Shopping cart. LOL loved it. 😅😅
Loved the 24 reference 😀
That pizza looked so yum any chance of the recipe 😊

Can't believe you put a pitsa before stopping and mooring that boat...unbelievable
You such nice guys. Whant to whatch your videos but the swearing. Please cut it out.
Or, and a better idea, try to understand that lots of adults swear and most of us don’t mind a bit. This isn’t a children’s channel
