  • In this week's vlog we're moored in the lovely village of Weedon and it felt only right to do lots of v quaint village-type activities - mooching around antiques shops, thinking I might replace all the boring modern things I own with chic antique versions, buying some bargain books and checking out a really cute local cafe. It's a cosy one! Oh and there IS some swan drama (isn't there always).
    Hope you enjoy spending a few days with us in Weedon. In next week's episode we're boating HARD. Hope to see you then! MWAH 😘

    Keep the videos coming!!! Brian will catch up eventually 😊 Love the vinyl room in the Antique Shop. I love looking at album covers. Your folding basket was great and , of course, you got approval from Matilda. Sorry to see Andrew’s mom leave. 😢 No boat antics on your boat, you two are sensible 😂❤️ Beautifully shot and edited as usual. You can handle the tunnel Kris, you did great on the last one. Thanks for sharing. Have a good week
    😊🤗 Kathy.

    Lovely Sunday evening treat to watch with coffee and a cinnamon bun then sock knitting. I loved seeing all the Antiques and Tchotchkes so different than what is found here, Canada is so much younger than the UK so not nearly as old furniture pieces to be found. There are some as a result of the English and French fighting for the land , especially here in Eastern Canada. There are a few restored forts that show the furniture the top military brass had brought over by ship , they just couldn’t buy anything fancy here so brought all the good stuff, even pianos were hefted aboard and sailed across.
    I’d have been wanting to buy everything I saw in those shops so thanks for sharing where I couldn’t actually spend the money.😂🤣😂.
    Keep up the great videos , it feels like a nice visit when I get to watch you. 👍🏼🥰🙋🏼‍♀️

    Those power lines brings to mind a couple times when I was a child and youth backpacking with my dad and the trail passed under high tension power lines and they had that audible buzzing. Don't remember if there was any physical feeling from the electric field. Do remember one location was a large area of blooming rhododendrons which were mostly a light reddish hue.

    Very nice...really enjoyed that one. Last 5 minutes was mesmerisng. What is "double pinning" exactly?

    • @krisatomic
      @krisatomic  25 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Very valid question, I should have explained more. Basically you put one mooring pin in the ground as normal and then whack another mooring pin through the eye of it at the opposite angle. It makes it much harder for it to pull out when the boat pulls against it.

    Fruit bowl is a definite find! FYI those little tins make lovely portable watercolor palettes, just pop in a few select half pans.

    • @krisatomic
      @krisatomic  26 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Omggg that's such a great idea! Ok perfect, you've given me the excuse I needed to buy a silly little tin on my next time through!

    • @susanb4481
      @susanb4481 25 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@krisatomic You’re welcome! I would love to take credit for the idea, however I saw it on some clever watercolorist’s TH-cam. She had multiple little tins. I don’t know if it was her original idea, but she had quite the collection. Also please forgive me if you already know this, but just buy empty half pans, and just fill them from tubes and let them firm up. Also you can get sticky magnets for the pans.

    Thought I'd grab the opportunity to be the first to comment. I've not watched it yet but I know it will be delightful. But please slow down. I feel a bit swamped by the volume of vids you produce and I do have other things to do. All the best from me, Wallace and now his son, Cedric, 11 weeks old. Both working cockers. If you ever meet Cedric then I would advise keeping him away from your prized books and nick-nacks. I mean antiques and valuables etc. Oh, last trip in April our boat pins got pulled out and we were rudely woken by someone explaining to us that our boat was entirely blocking the width of the canal. Hmm. Not the best way to start the day.
