In the foyer, a huge built in aquarium was in the wall where the shelves are now. The living room had white carpeting but the den ( fireplace and brick floor) is exactly the same. Mom didn’t have a separate bedroom. They shared the master and it was painted black. Dad wanted it to feel like they were sleeping under the stars. The bedroom they’re saying was moms was actually Shared by Rosanne and me. It was our room with a pink tile bathroom. The doors to outside from both suites were added after we moved. We didn’t have a pool when we lived there. The little “shed” by the pool was our playhouse. Dad had it built for us. Dads office is exactly the same. The outside bedroom, bath and closet was for our live in housekeeper. The room with the skylight was where we had a pool table. I really enjoyed this tour. I haven’t been in the house since the late 1960’s so it was very sweet to be able to tour it. Thanks so much! Kathy
Well I'm glad to see that Kathy cash chimed in on the house tour that's pretty upscale for the day. Be wildly comfortable for anybody.Old fellow who lives up the road from me here in rural Wyoming claims to worked on the getting the property grounds prepped up and ready to go. So he claims to have meet the owner Mr. Cash at the time. Small world.
Awe, that is so cool and so sweet to hear you were able to see this and will have it now whenever you want to look back!!! I was going to guess he wanted the ceilings to have the sparkle on them so he could look up and see them and feel like he was outside under the night sky and all of it's stars. the farther from cities you get, the more stars you can see. I bet he grew up in Arkansas back then with mostly small tows scattered and so he would have had a huge galaxy of stars filled sky every night!!! ALL of my love, big ole hugs and blessings of the LORD to you and yours, today and always!!!

I love the master bedroom, so spacious, and to have your bedroom lead on to your pool, just perfect. A big thank you to Adam aswell, what a nice guy. Great vlog Jordan.
Wow!!! What a treat to see!!! 😃👏 I’ve never seen ceilings anything like that before!! I absolutely love them!!!! Especially the pale green sparkles in the hall, absolutely stunning!!!! I think I have a future decor idea now 😉😃
Wow… for me who will probably never see even half of what you see, Thank You for sharing your tours with us… this is amazing. Absolutely amazing. I imagine it felt very crazy walking through Johnny Cash’s home… it’s really beautiful and to think how most stars and musicians now have huge mansions, this home is still stunning…
Thank you Jordan the Lion and Adam for showing us this peek in time into a part of Johnny Cash’s life while he was still married to Vivian. Appreciate it much! I’m looking forward to the video you mentioned that Adam is helping you gain access to property something you’ve been interested in the last 3 years. I wish you would have given us a little teaser who it was about! I’ll be watching for it though
Glittery ceilings was a thing back in the 70s. I remember the majority of houses I went into had the textured ceilings with sparkle. Not as much glitter as this house but it was there for sure. Thank you for giving us a tour. 🤗
The trouble with glitter ceilings is keeping the glitter over time. Whether we like it or not, even ceilings get their share of dust build up, as well as the oxidation of the sparkling metal to keep the appearance loosing its luster. Most people without the "live-in housekeeper" like the Cash's had, like myself, would prefer a lower maintenance affair with a smoother finish that could be cleaned with a Swiffer product in less then an hour.
In the South we call those popcorn ceilings and they are terrible. I love all things about this home except for those ceilings! To each is own I suppose 😂
Thanks for taking me on yet another great tour Jordan. It would be great for someone to put the house back to original condition, but I bet that would make it a little spooky to live in, especially with an all black bedroom!! 😯
I used to put him on a pedestal. After my husband had an affair, I read viv's book. It helped me so very much and I didn't feel so alone and lonely. It even hurt me the way he did things, and to realize from a different perspective how June was toward viv. Times change but people and their actions don't. I learned that also. We are all sinners. It just really showed me that you can keep going and you can be successful after trauma.
The ceiling in Johnny Cashs house with the glitter was the "thing" back then in the 60s..I was born in 1961 and I grew up in the San Fransico Bay Area and the house I grew up in had the same ceiling in every room but ours where white or off white. It was the "IN" thing. I'm not sure how many homes had it..we were an upper middle class family. .....
Cool. I lived in Daly City from 1958-63. Times were sure different then. My family moved back to Mn and I haven’t been back to Ca since. Hopefully some day.
Yep grew up north of LA in the San Fernando valley. we had the glitter ceiling thing with white carpet in the dining room. Us kids were not allowed in the formal dining room for obvious reasons. I think Liberace was a big deal and made the white carpet glitter stuff popular. Not sure I was 10 in 1965.
My family built our house in California in the late 60’s-early 70’s, and it had the same sparkly popcorn ceilings. We were very middle class, and when I asked my dad why he had the ceilings done that way, he said it was both for insulating and acoustic purposes. Some builders said they had asbestos in them, others said they were perfectly safe. They were awful to clean, as everything stuck to them, including cobwebs!
UNBELIEVABLY AMAZING that you could film this!!! So cool to see 😍 it always amazes me how small celebrities homes use to be compared to the monstrosities that celebrities live in now. Jordan… if those walls could talk😃🎸🤠
Wow this is super cool, especially since I’m a huge Cash fan. What a blessing it was for you to get to go inside and thanks so much for sharing with this with us as well
Johnny Cash came to Mansfield,Ohio. He played at the Renaissance Theatre. I went down front to take a picture of him. About the same time I got there his song ended. He reached over and shook my hand. I was shocked but happy.
I’m happy for you, Jordan, that the Casitas Hideaway House vlog came full circle for you, thanks to Adam and your respectful and professional way you do your vlogs. May you continue tone blessed with even more opportunities now & in the future. ❤️🙏🏻🎸⭐️
I'm such a fan it was nice to see 👀 how Johnny Cash lived , and his style in making a comfortable family home , it's simply gorgeous . Thankyou Adam and Jorden for the amazing experience ❤️ it.
That was a great showing, truly it was! I too, loved those ceilings, so original and unforgettable. I can see other homeowners redoing their own ceilings or or requesting that type in a new home. Absolutely a beautiful home w original concepts. White carpeting was spoken about and white carpeting is also a Graceland feature. Just because one grew up in the 'country', doesn't mean that one lacked 'great taste' in homes! And these ideas came about during the early to mid 60s! What great taste these 'country boys' had! It's been and is still being proven. ❤ Thank you, Jordan and Ms. Cash--for your texted input! ❤
Great video Jordan. Love Johnny cash and June carter cash. My great grandma Frost was first or second cousins with maybelle Carter and my grandparents, when they was younger and my dad and his 2 brothers was really young, they took a trip down to Tennessee and they visited with Johnny and June and other family and they went to Johnny and June's house and they seen one of the first microwaves that was made. Love the video, keep up the great work you do.
Only Jordan would manage to get in Johnny's house so we could all see it, you're amazing Jordan. One of the best channels on TH-cam. I bet their is other things under the ground, I'd be digging that ground if I bought the house.
Very typical CA ranch style home of the 60's and 70's. I couldn't stand the popcorn ceiling and had them removed. That's so funny we also had boys and girls bathrooms.
Wow, what a masterpiece! I never thought I would ever see the inside of that house. All the history and definitely Johnny style. He actually had very good taste. Thank you Jordan!!!!!
You would see the "popcorn" sparkle ceilings in all the 1960's suburb sub-division homes. When the homes would eventually change hands, the first thing to go was those ceilings. I heard that the popcorn material contained asbestos and that was one of the reasons new owners wanted them gone. That, and changing tastes made these ceiling outdated.
I got to see Johnny Cash and his wife June in concert for the 4th of July at the world's fair in 1982. In Knoxville Tennessee. I was born in Knoxville and have family. Lol my cousin and got kicked out of the China pavilion lol that was fun I was a teenager. God I feel old. Cool man! As always thank you Jordan for doing this video.
Awesome tour of Johnny Cash house. Looks like the one in the movie of his life with Qaquin Phoenixs? 1960s was an awesome time for decor. You could have a Jetson's living room and a colonial den with wagon wheel chandelier. The popcorn ceilings was all the rage then, especially with glitter. Its came in gold or silver. My mom chose gold in our house.
Thank you so much very much enjoyed seem Johnny's House. The first song that my son ever song was Ring of fire he was about 1 and 1/2 and now he's 8 and Johnny Cash is still his favorite
Those acoustic ceilings were all the rage back then. I remember my parents buying a house and had the acoustic ceilings blown in, minus the sparkles. Then when I bought a house it had that tyro of ceiling and we had to scrape it all off by hand. What a mess. I never like those type of ceilings because the dust would build up and they would be dingy. It’s funny for some reason I thought his house would have been much much bigger. Thanks for the video my daughter is 16 and she’s a big Johnny cash fan. I shared this video with her.
Oh how I so appreciate your opportunity to go to Johnny’s home in Casita Springs, California, it is as beautiful as I expected. Love the memories you mentioned, the vintage accessories shown, & you for sharing your videos with us. ❤️
Thank you, Adam! Thank you, Jordan! I really enjoyed the tour. I love it, that Adam saw the gun. I wonder if Johnny was angry because he missed a target, or just dropped it by accident and knew it was too difficult to retrieve. Thank you, Jordan for bringing us all of your visits!
I grew up in Ojai so everyone in the valley was familiar with this home. I certainly wouldn't call it a mountain hideaway. It is so sad to see Casitas Springs rotting away. It never was very big. When I was a kid they hadn't finished the freeway which now runs past Foster Park. It was just a two lane road. We used to ride out bikes from Ojai to Ventura and back - a really long bike ride. Back in the 60's there was even a small airport (Henderson field) which is now a trailer park in Mira Monte. Ojai is struggling to keep its character despite all these people moving there who want to make it like LA..
I grew up in Arcadia and as a kid we'd go upnto Uncle Ed's walnut ranch in Ojai..I remember it was pastca school just outside of town.It was magical as a kid , theirvhouse was up against the hills and deer would come down to graze at sundown..
Absolutely incredible! One of my favorites you've done. Much thanks to Mr Adam too. I'm a yuuuuge Johnny fan, this was so fun to see, man! Thanks, Jordan for this one. Have a great rest of your day 💙
Adam sure reminds me of Errol Flynn! Something else that comes to mind, is the fact that even the "super wealthy" used to live pretty much like everyone else. That certainly was a beautiful home for it's day, but nowhere near "overblown", like people CONvinced themselves they needed by the late Nineties.... And it's even worse now. It's also kind of touching to know that Johnny and Vivian's kids thought it weird to be "up above" everyone down the hill in the trailer court... Very human of them!
Thank you so much for sharing this video. I believe the stuff on the ceilings (was or is) referred to "popcorn ceiling". I know it was very popular around the 1980's. We had it done to the house We were living in at the time.
Nice❤i have been there ones. So much good memories about Johnny . I live in Norway and together with my mother back in 1971 we went to a consert with Cash in Oslo.i was only seventeen year old. 😊 After that i also met Cash 2 times. One time outside his home in Hendersonville. My brother also put up to conserts with Johnny back in the eightees:) What a great man!

Wasnt expecting this video to pop up in my feed but love that it did! Ive lived in Ojai CA for 40+yrs & pass by the Johnny Cash sign all the time! Huge Cash fan so it always makes me think about his music+life story. Ive seen various docs+movies which show this time in his life, this home- hes 1 of many celebs who have lived here. Thanks for this video! The nostalgia on Mr Cash living here & Kathy Cash's comment about her parents building that home makes me love our Valley more given the rich history & tradition it holds.
when we redid our living room I was so sad to get rid of our sparkle ceiling and we figured out how to paint and reapply gold sparkles using a cut out big square box with a silk scarf covering one end so that as we painted we could blow up sparkles using the high setting on our hair dryer through the scarf and they would fall back into the box if they didnt stick -- turned out great! -- Lol my hubby and his friend have long beards so when they were done they had sparkles all through them -- Haaaaa

How nice of that realtor to contact you! Great vlog.
Hi Jordan, what a lovely view from the house, so scenic. Nice that there are still some things of Johnny's in the house, that toilet did make me chuckle.
I think I have a future decor idea now 😉😃
The funny thing is, Adam almost sounds a bit like Johnny when he talks, slow Southern style! Loved this tour!
This was so cool thank
You for sharing and thank you Adam
Wow… for me who will probably never see even half of what you see, Thank You for sharing your tours with us… this is amazing. Absolutely amazing. I imagine it felt very crazy walking through Johnny Cash’s home… it’s really beautiful and to think how most stars and musicians now have huge mansions, this home is still stunning…
SUCH A KOOL VIDEO!! Thanks for Sharing this with the World......
It was my pleasure! Jordan does such amazing work! I'm super excited to get Jordan into another amazing property very soon. Stay tuned!
Glittery ceilings was a thing back in the 70s. I remember the majority of houses I went into had the textured ceilings with sparkle. Not as much glitter as this house but it was there for sure. Thank you for giving us a tour. 🤗
Lol I actually love that textured glittery ceiling
The trouble with glitter ceilings is keeping the glitter over time.
Whether we like it or not, even ceilings get their share of dust build up, as well as the oxidation of the sparkling metal to keep the appearance loosing its luster.
Most people without the "live-in housekeeper" like the Cash's had, like myself, would prefer a lower maintenance affair with a smoother finish that could be cleaned with a Swiffer product in less then an hour.
@@tomt373 I totally agree cleaning those types of ceilings is terrible. I hate cleaning anything that isn’t a smooth surface.
In the South we call those popcorn ceilings and they are terrible. I love all things about this home except for those ceilings! To each is own I suppose 😂
Very cool! I do so hope the new owners keep / restore it as much as possible.
Thanks for sharing.
OH JESUS.............CRY ME A FRIKIN RIVER FOR CRYING OUT LOUD............

As a pool guy I'm so envious of the pool guys who get to service historic houses like this.
Envy is dangerous.
The ceiling in Johnny Cashs house with the glitter was the "thing" back then in the 60s..I was born in 1961 and I grew up in the San Fransico Bay Area and the house I grew up in had the same ceiling in every room but ours where white or off white. It was the "IN" thing. I'm not sure how many homes had it..we were an upper middle class family. .....
What part of the Bay did you grow up in? I grew up in Piedmont and never saw a ceiling like that!
Cool. I lived in Daly City from 1958-63. Times were sure different then. My family moved back to Mn and I haven’t been back to Ca since. Hopefully some day.
@@bruceso797 people are leaving California in droves why would you want to go back there,,!
Hi 👋 how are you doing?
Yep. Some of the old houses look not so great.
Kudos to both, you & Adam, for having the vision & the foresight to document Johnny's home in this way. Marvelous!🙌🙌🌎
This was incredible. Thank you both.
Wow wow wow just loved this video thanks to Adam for sharing and thanks to you🥰
I’m happy for you, Jordan, that the Casitas Hideaway House vlog came full circle for you, thanks to Adam and your respectful and professional way you do your vlogs. May you continue tone blessed with even more opportunities now & in the future. ❤️🙏🏻🎸⭐️
We had a glitter ceiling in our dining room growing up! Absolutely loves it!
I'm such a fan it was nice to see 👀 how Johnny Cash lived , and his style in making a comfortable family home , it's simply gorgeous . Thankyou Adam and Jorden for the amazing experience ❤️ it.
My pleasure. Jordan did an amazing job showing everyone Johnnys humble home.
🪔What a simple but beautiful home..I love it...Not gawdy like lots of homes today...Beautiful. Adam is a.Great host too..tks for the tour
Merci. Pour. Ce très beau. Reportage. J’ai. Beaucoup. Aime. Johnny cash
Love the video, keep up the great work you do.
when I bought my home, it was all 60's & 70's design....I still have orange shag carpet in one of the rooms.
What a fun and amazing adventure! Thanks to Adam for making this possible and to you, Jordan, for always doing such a great job with your videos!
I loved Johnny all my life .
I remember hearing I Walk the Line. When I was 8or 9 years old. I love him ever since. I'm 79 now
Only Jordan would manage to get in Johnny's house so we could all see it, you're amazing Jordan.
When that glitter falls on you when you are sleeping it isn't so nice.
Wow, what a masterpiece! I never thought I would ever see the inside of that house. All the history and definitely Johnny style. He actually had very good taste. Thank you Jordan!!!!!
Thank you darling❤️very exiting as always❤️🌹and for show us to walk his line
Always wanted to see this place amazing thanks
That was amazing Jordan!!! I'd never have got to see his house if it weren't for you. Awesome!
🙌😀💕
Gotta love Johnny Cash! What a man and career! Thank you for sharing this! So cool! Continued Blessings and Support. ~Love&Light♥️Carli
Most (if any) popcorn ceilings are not asbestos, its a wives tale.
I remember some of the sidewalks in the LA area, San Fernando valley had glitter too. Looked really cool in the streetlights at night.
Thank you so much very much enjoyed seem Johnny's House. The first song that my son ever song was Ring of fire he was about 1 and 1/2 and now he's 8 and Johnny Cash is still his favorite
🏆🏆🏆👍🇺🇲🙏
Thank you for sharing
That was the style back then the glitter on the ceilings even our house had it
Those acoustic ceilings were all the rage back then.
another great video, I hope the new owners turn the house back to original, you can just see Johnny walking around there, beautiful place
I'm very grateful for the upload 🤠
Thank you, Adam! Thank you, Jordan! I really enjoyed the tour. I love it, that Adam saw the gun. I wonder if Johnny was angry because he missed a target, or just dropped it by accident and knew it was too difficult to retrieve. Thank you, Jordan for bringing us all of your visits!
Yes it is very interesting to think what one might have been thinking when the gun went over the edge.
Wow..... that front door is amazing. Great video!!
I love Ojai!
GENTRIFICATION PROCESS AT IT'S "FINEST"!!! 🙄😒😒🤬
I grew up in Arcadia and as a kid we'd go upnto Uncle Ed's walnut ranch in Ojai..I remember it was pastca school just outside of town.It was magical as a kid , theirvhouse was up against the hills and deer would come down to graze at sundown..
Hope L.A. dose not succeed
Unfortunately, Ventura is becoming more LA first. This has to stop.
Thanks brother. That was really cool. Super cool to have Kathy chime in too!!! I was like, wwwhhhaaattt? Great work and thanks to Adam. Big time!!
Absolutely incredible! One of my favorites you've done. Much thanks to Mr Adam too. I'm a yuuuuge Johnny fan, this was so fun to see, man! Thanks, Jordan for this one. Have a great rest of your day 💙
It was my pleasure!
My
Wow what a beautiful home .Thank you for sharing with me. much love and respect.
What an amazing tour. Ring of fire was my grandmother's favorite song. Beautiful house.
Thank you so much for sharing this video. I believe the stuff on the ceilings (was or is) referred to "popcorn ceiling". I know it was very popular around the 1980's. We had it done to the house We were living in at the time.
Thanks for sharing this video, Jordan & Adam 💖👍🥳☀️💖
❤
I read about this place years ago so it was great to actually see it. Great job Jordan!
Nice❤i have been there ones. So much good memories about Johnny . I live in Norway and together with my mother back in 1971 we went to a consert with Cash in Oslo.i was only seventeen year old. 😊
After that i also met Cash 2 times. One time outside his home in Hendersonville. My brother also put up to
conserts with Johnny back in the eightees:) What a great man!
I did see yor original video on this place, and it's fantastic that you've got to video the inside for us! I love Jonny Cash, grew up hearing my parents listen to him, and my sons got the bug, too! Thanks Jordan!
Thanks for sharing Jordan I love Johnny it from my dad that loved Johnny Cash he loves Elvis , Roy Orbison, the old country music stuff and rock n roll ECT. Thanks again for sharing this video.😎👍👍📸🤘
What a nice Retro Time Capsule Home 👍
I agree Bob G. like snapshots from the past. I love Johnny Cash and June Carter. Good to see you.
@@pippadot679 Good to see you as well 😊
Thank you Jordan & Adam! Loved the blog❤️
So wonderful! Thanks to Adam for letting us into this property! Great tour Jordan. I would love to see this as a tour home. Please keep us posted.
I am born and raised in Ventura which is right below here. So this is my close neighborhood. It's really neat to see this on TH-cam and of course we've always been proud of Johnny Cash! He's a legend!
Awesome vlog Jordan!
